Dave Dunipace has always said that each set of flight numbers, meaning the last three numbers, are relative to the other discs in their lineup of the same speed. He said you should never compare flight numbers of a certain speed disc to the flight numbers of another speed disc
I can't tell you about the physics of the discs or why one would have more glide than the other, though I would think the added rim depth and more pronounced shoulder of the Invader would make it have more glide. However I think the lower profile and thicker rim of the Tomb would make it faster. They both have somewhat snub noses for a putter, which would make them fade harder and limit their speed some. But I think it's a slight speed vs glide difference that would characterize the differences between the two. Neither one I would characterize as having 4 glide though. Here are some of my notes on these 2 molds: The Tomb has the Rat top / Colt bottom. - CORRECTION: I'm looking at mine now and the Colt and Tomb look identical. The Rat I have is completely flat top, whereas the Colt and Tomb have the same flight plate and rim. Or they're so close they're practically indistinguishable. Is the Tomb just a Colt? The Colt, and therefore the Tomb, as well as the Invader, have V-Tech rims. (a convex lower outer edge of the rim, with more of the disc weight toward the edges to create straighter and longer flight paths) Both the Invader and Animal share a mold part, per the Innova GM, but Innova molds have 3 parts and I'm not sure what that is, since the flight plates are completely different, and the bottom rims are similar, but not identical. But I suspect it's a spacer, which adds to the height of the disc. For example the P2 mold is an Aviar with a spacer that gives it a slightly higher profile, that makes it a touch more stable.
