I've been so excited for this Zombicide after translating the Spanish rulebook months ago. There are so many awesome sounding tweaks to the Zombicide formula, my favorite being the ammo mechanic that I wish 2nd Edition had from the beginning.
I really wish they would do the missions like this one as a one page that you can have by the board vs the rule book. Hope this is a new era for Zombicide.
If a particular Zombicide is too easy for you, you could easily increase the difficulty yourself by adding additional zombies, spawn zones, objectives, ...
Having had many Kickstarter all-in zombicides, I actually find a ‘one box game’ very refreshing! I think the missions and new rules look very intriguing. Those map tiles look lovely as well, and the safe and ‘small rooms’ look like a great mechanic! The survivors all look fairly similar (I appreciate they are from the film so couldn’t deviate in their characters). Looks great… but I already have way too many zombicides to buy another…
Alphas are a combo of Brutes and Runners: they have 2 actions but 2 health as well! Also you missed the Sleeper rules on the opposite page to the Kill Sleeper rules you were reading. Sleeper tokens are placed randomly inside buildings per set up. If you make noise in the same or adjacent space you wake them up and flip the token, spawning that many Shamblers/Walkers. If you're not a Stealthy class character then you have to be very careful moving through their space otherwise you wake them too.
I can't wait. Night of the living dead was amazing as it played very differently to normal ZC. It was more like a tower defense style game and very thematic to the film. I can only imaging that this Army of the dead will also be thematic to the film.
I really don't need more Zombicide in my collection, already owning Black Plague, Green Horde, Invader, Darkside, Night of the Living Dead, 2nd Edition, Undead or Alive, tons of expansions and White Death backed. Can't wait to get this one!?😊
@@joeferreti9442 Army of the Dead is Netflix/Zach Snider. Army of Darkness is Sam Raimi directing Bruce Campbell; t'was the 3rd installment of the original Evil Dead trilogy.
I mean, with games like this I play through them as a standalone, then add the contents into the mass of regular zombicide and treat them much like the ZC or Rio expansions. More characters possibly with some unique rules, more zombies and the odd special zombie with special rules in some scenarios.
Unboxing was ok, good to see close ups of the minis and tiles. Interesting new rules, love the Sleeper rule, very atmospheric and Walking Dead like! I pre-ordered this when first announced and eventually cancelled the pre-order two weeks before it was actually released….. now I ordered it from my favourite retail store and at $15 cheaper than the pre-order🤣🤣🤣 the minis in this one look fantastic!
Nevermind, mistook it for "Army of Darkness". Not sure what "Army of the Dead" is supposed to be. Always these IPs that only a handful of Netflix subscriber know ... :/
I guess CMON got bored of waiting for Synder to get around to making the next entry in the series. I didn't think the film was great but I could see the game being interesting. Plus, extra zombies for the horde...
question, I'm so fascinated with Zombicide that has movie or show tie-ins like this, if I get it right can I have it played along with Zombicide 2nd AND the Night of the Living Dead too? I mean the characters??
Most important question, how many characters do they force you to control? I have no problem managing two survivors in a 2 player game, but I really don't want to do 3 if I don't have to.
Looks OK but where is the 'Army' of dead, is there a horde mechanic? Probably not as it's loyal to the movie. I'm hoping CMON push the envelope. I would love to have a modern horde wave where I can use all my zombie walkers.
Don't you think your unboxing video would be even more interesting if make yourself a bit more familiar with the game beforehand? The spanish version of the rulebook is online for quite some time now. So watching this and you knowing basicly nothing about the new mechanics was a bit unsatisfying.
Perhaps, But historically, that's not how I do unboxings. My reviews are informative my unboxings are chaotic, and I always make sure to warn people in the first few minutes:)
Looks cool. But not $110 retail cool, especially compared to MZ or DCeased. I havent looked at this much, because like Alex, I thought it it would never see the light of day. My guess is it was a contractual obligation thing to release it? I'm always excited for more zombicide, and I love the Vegas theme. But i genuinely was expecting a more "heroes resistance" type box and price. I wonder how many copies got produced? I'll keep an eye out in the clearance section though. Lol
The dice are like casino dice as the movie takes place in Las Vegas. That is a nice touch
