Glad you reacted to her. Like others have said, this is not a good representation of her other music, so you should check out other songs. She has many different sounds and varieties of musical style. This one is more poppy/Dancy than most of her stuff. The message of the song is fabulous. None of us need a cure for who we are. Some think Aurora is strange, but to me, that is her superpower. She is always 100% authentic to who she is. I would suggest any live performance from her. She is amazing live

Aurora is great, my absolute favourite modern artist, but fare warning she is not afraid to share her opinions in her music. This song is a diversion from most her previous music. She has stated she wanted to have a lot more fun this time around and not be so uptight and a perfectionist with the studio track (she is always chill and a lot of fun live though! :D).
Would definitely love to see more videos of her from you :)
    Take care and stay safe!

Fun reaction! You really did sense one influence she is drawing from -- the video actually does re-create a set from Tim Burton's film Alice in Wonderland, and the dance is inspired both by Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter dance from that film and 1920's flapper dances! A real bop tune! AURORA typically is less pop and very deep -- I recommend songs from her Nidarosdomen live performance (just about anything from that venue), as well as her 2018 KEXP concert (ALL IS SOFT INSIDE, CHURCHYARD)! Other commenters will also have suggestions -- AURORA has quite a repertoire and an extraordinary voice (THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD as an example) and emotive style!

Aurora is self taught in singing and playing the piano. She has been writing songs since she was 6 years old, in english since she was 9 years old, she turned 25 on May 31st. Her lyrics are always very deep. Her live performances are usually better than the music videos. Check out "Through The Eyes Of A Child" or live at the Noble Peace Prize Concert singing "Murder Song 54321". Even her covers are so different from the original that they are 100% Aurora, like her cover of "Believer".

Not really classic Aurora... it'a one off bop. Which is cute, but she's got a lot more depth generally in her other songs while gently turning your soul inside out. Hope you try other compositions of hers. :)

What a good morning! 2 reactors so far today who now reacts to both my favorits; Aurora and Angelina! 🤗

Aurora is a sweet down to earth empath, with good meaningfull lyrics dealing with universal topics for us as humans. 😊💪

  • @TomTomson81
    @TomTomson81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Aurora said the song does not represent the album. It is quite separate, but it joins the story of the whole album. Aurora herself finds the dance quite ugly in a beautiful way. 😁
The song in general goes against institutes that offer a so-called cure for homosexuality/bisexuality. In doing so, she is directly affects the topic.
And of course it should increase self-confidence and self-esteem for everyone who needs it.
I think that she's also pointing the (middle)finger at her critics and against people who call others crazy or creepy or laugh at them just because they dress differently, have ticks or otherwise fall out of the norm.
All movements that are otherwise involuntary with her, she makes here with full intention.
Her wide open eyes, her hand movements, Shaking her head and her involuntary twitches. Everything is clearly highlighted with the camera in various separate settings. That didn't have to be so it was intentional.
    "I don't need a cure for me"
Furthermore, Aurora is the only one without a mask. She is the one who shows her true self and does not hide. Everyone else wears one and seems to bury Aurora in the sequence in which she looks almost panicked into the camera. Which for me is an indication of bullying.
She painted the masks herself and her sister made her outfit. It should also create a bridge to "Exist for love".
I think the "Exist for love" reference at the very beginning (Aurora in the Crystal Ball on the Shell) had its reason. The song was also criticized. That wouldn't be Aurora and why is she singing such a song? Why only love between man and woman? And so on. The usual stupid talk.
The apple is from the Garden of Eden (the forbidden fruit and sin) and Aurora likes to bite in.😁. Which brings us to the Christian faith and its views on what love between two people should look like.
In addition, the apple could also be a reference to the sentence she once said in an interview. Why can't there be a wish inside an apple? Anything is possible if you believe in it. 😁
And by the way, the video is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The dance in corus and the visual. The sound in the chorus seems to be inspired by old video games. Aurora released a mini game shortly before, which also included exactly this sound.
In general, there are many special details in the video that have meaning. The black and white floor on which she dances or the glued 7 and 9 angular stars in her face and on the floor.
    7-star:
7 is a divine number and stands for the 7 chakras, 7 days or 7 sacraments etc. It also symbolizes perfection and connects spirit and matter in the universe. The seven star, also known as the heptagram, contains ancient knowledge and is considered a powerful protective symbol of the natural religions. People with the number 7 have a seventh sense and are farsighted and open to everything new.
Or Aurora watched too much Game of Thrones. What she actually does. Then another explanation would be possible. 😁
    9-star:
The 9 gives us access to our inner and higher wisdom. The number nine symbolizes the power of creation, bliss and knowledge. In Buddhism, the nine is the highest spiritual power and the associated symbol is the nine star (enneagram), which is composed of a circle and triangles. People with the number 9 are warm, intelligent, wise counselors, and good listeners.
A nine-pointed star also stands for perfection
    All features apply to Aurora

Among artists and in the music industry the Norwegian singer AURORA is synonymous with quality, and she can fill a record with masterpieces time and time again. Many others are glad they manage one hit. Billie Eilish said in an interview that it was AURORA that made her become an artist and were inspired after listen to Aurora. She is a true genius artist who does not make plastic / bikini music, but is true to real creative art.
