He is considered one of England's most successful cricket captains, leading the team to their famous Ashes victory in 2005.

Na I think Bumrah beats them all. Those bowlers bowled in bowler friendly conditions. IN a T20 match I dont they could be as effect as Bumrah. Mcgrath was literally on bench when he was in IPL(He was probably past his prime during that time but he cant beat Bumrah especially in death)

Batsman have developed more shots, they can literally study every bowler and device a plan how to tackle each ball. They dont defend anymore, they just attack. @@loveutube04 well let’s not talk about IPL coz i don’t think it’s cricket. The same dale Steyn was a nightmare for Indian and other batsmen in test cricket. The same guys who excel in IPL struggle playing the same format in international competitions. 20-30 years back all these batsmen used to study bowlers on their own without technology so this argument doesn’t hold true. Am not sure how much of a cricket connoisseur you are but your argument based on IPL as a benchmark puts a lot of doubt in my mind about your cricketing knowledge.
As an Indian, my all time fav bowler was Shane bond from NZ. I wish he played for longer.. My new fav is Bumrah!

Bumrah is simply the best bowler India has ever produced. Never seen a bowler who gives so less freebie to batters. I can safely say Bumrah would have troubled greats like Sachin and Lara more than Wasim or Mcgrath ever done .
Definitely, in one interview even wasim akram said that Bumrah has more control over the ball than himself.

Forget any Indian cricketer, no other sportsmen of India can match the magic of akram…bumrah got lucky in test coz of some of the most horrendous defensive technique of all time….most of the test batting greats of todays era would have struggled to make into eleven of first class teams of that era…any one can be better and would always seem better than mcgrath,he was really an overrated bowler,he really took advantage of bouncy Aussie wickets and used to bowl with big scores behind his back while every other great bowler of that era was good in one format,not in both of them….so comparing bumrah or mcgrath with akram is only happened just on the basis of stats while in real time and real world the answer to the question would even be subjective….it will be completely objective…..if cricket would have been a global sport,akram would be equivalent to zidane

Bumrah is great bowler no doubt but his action greatly contribute towards that
Bumrah is an amazing rare generational talent.
To become a legend Bumrah needs to perform in a WTC final or WC final and win the game for India. Only then he can compare with the Legends. Had he won the 2023 WC final with a 5 wicket haul of his own, he would have become a legend. But he will remain a Great.

He was second in the list of most wickets taker with the best economy. No bolwers can match him. And note= our batsman failed in the finals , that's why we lost world cup. Our bolwers gave there best

I think Bumrah will be a GOAT like them by the end of his career. But still, he is something else! This era is absolutely hell for the bowlers. He is giving this kinda performances on flat pitches and 65-70m boundaries. There were so many legendary bowlers in the previous generations but in the modern era there is only one standout all format bowler, and he is Jaspreet Bumrah. They might be bigger names with greater stats and bigger reputations but what Bumrah has achieved within such short period is simply remarkable!

That's what makes me more sad that we have bowler like bumrah and still we couldn't win the world cup .. this guys could bowl in any format in any situation ..he can bowl bouncers , slower ball .Yorker .. in swing .. outswing .. reverse swing . The reason why I admire starc is because he is a big match player , bumra is a very good bowler but apart from getting less international wickets his performance in major events I.e crusial ICC matches is also very poor , he needs to win some memorable matches for his team in order to be in the greats of the game list

In fact he’s already a good 5-7k slower than atleast wasim and waqar younis. He may be comparable to them if he keeps up his form but i highly doubt it’ll continue till end of this decade

Bumrah has better numbers than some of the best bowlers played the game. He is playing a lot more cricket than those bowlers. He is at the top of his game across formats. If we say sachin way ahead of virat because he played the tougher bowlers and tough batting pitches. Bumrah is ahead of any bowler because he is doing it in an era where being a bowler is a biggest nightmare a cricketer could have.
That makes him definitely one of the best but not the, first of no he doesn't have the best stats out there don't just lie blatantly, except the last point you mentioned everything else is a lie.

Bumrah is not better than these legends for many reasons that time the cricket was different but now players have gym physiotherapy diet stats about other players everything . Bumrah not giving runs only help in t20's but not in One days and Test matches bcos in that players can leave his over and target other bolwers . People talking about wickets currently in Ipl also the is top wicket taker for a reason he's comming after 11 or 12 over till then the players facing him are either middle order or lower order batsman in international rankings he's not even in top 50's . A good bowler is like Pathirana - Arshdeep - Harshal - Sandeep who will give runs but also take wickets in every match
