Joe Root of late since 2021 has been a new batsman altogether in test cricket scoring hundreds at will. Can't deny that he's the first one of this generation to reach 10k test runs. Man that's no mean feat.

He is a dangerous player but he played international cricket for very short period of time which makes it difficult for anyone to choose him in him/her best picks as it will be unfair to others who are contributing to their country in some or the other way by playing consistently + less sample size available. To choose the best, you need good performances consistently at least for some period of time.

Definitely some quality picks. Can't help but feel that the Black Caps need a little more respect though. On their day their pace attack (Boult, Southee & Wagner/ Jamison) is potentially the best in the world, or equal to Australia's at the very least. They're getting on a little bit (the Pom's have got the same issue) but I'd take either Boult or Wagner as my left-arm quick over Starc any day.

And as I mentioned i am talking about all format. Whom do you prefer in your T20 team Warner , root or Smith ? When you answer this you will understand that Warner can fill gap of this people in test and odi but in T20 others can't replace Warner
