So excited after watching this !! I want to try to make my journal covers the crazy quilt way. I just ordered some crazy quilt grids but now I see I really didn’t need to get grids… 🤷♀️ 😊 but I might still use them.. I love using vintage images on my journal covers so this is perfect! 🥰
I'm so happy this helped, Pattie! You can do your crazy patch however you want. If you mean "grids" like a pattern? I use those every now and then, too. The thing I like about the flip and sew method in this video is that every block looks a little different from each other. Thank you for watching! xo
Of course I’m up late tonight and ran across this video of your tutorial so had to watch! Gees, this was great! How different we all do our crazy patches huh? Well, I love yours! They are so fun to do. I may go back to sewing again for awhile. It’s time. I’m off of yt now but keep having to go on for one thing or another. Crazy! I must go make sure I haven’t missed any other videos now! Tfs! 🤗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰💚
Thanks so much for showing us how you make this. Makes me want to start straight away! But it's almost midnight overhere, so I guess it's too late now and I'ld wake up the rest of my family who is sleeping with the noise of my sewing machine. I have to give this a try though! Hugs.
I got here late, lol, Love the image, and never thought about using glue to keep things in place, I have cut out loads of square's for my quilt so this is a great help, off to see your part 2, and the House Quilt is just lovely, xxx Hugs Dede xxx
Thank you! No, the photo is printed on fabric. There are several different ways to print on fabric. You can either purchase the packages of fabric from craft stores (they have a paper backing that you peel off after you've printed the image) or you can take a cotton fabric and tape it onto a piece of copier paper and run it through the printer that way, or you can do "transfers" with different gel mediums etc. You can also purchase some already printed images on fabric from Etsy stores who specialize in that. I printed this one myself onto fabric paper that I bought at Jo-Ann, with an ink jet printer, then peeled the paper off the back. I put a very light coating of mod-podge over it to keep the ink from flaking off because it does that sometimes. Hope that answered your question. (There are various videos out there on how crafters get their images onto fabric.) Thank you so much for watching!! XX - Lauretta
I was wondering how you got the picture on fabric ? I guess I’m dumb because I’ve never seen this done before. Also just found your channel and i have joined in because you were so sweet in this video, it’s nice to support kind people.
Oh thank you! And You're not dumb just because you haven't come across something before. I printed it from my printer onto fabric that has a paper backing. You can buy the fabric sheets made for a printer at JoAnns and probably from Amazon too. Welcome to my channel and take care. XX
Thank you! If you go to Pinterest and look up "crazy quilts" you'll find LOTS of inspiration. In fact, I think I've pinned over a thousand CQ images. I hope you give it a try. Thanks for watching. XX
Thank you! I got this tiny iron at Jo-Ann's in the notions area. But I'm pretty sure you can get them at Hobby Lobby and even Wal-Mart. At Wal-Mart they would probably be with the quilting supplies rather than in the household area. That lap sized ironing matte was one of the best purchases I've ever made, too. Also from Jo-Ann's but again, available at Wal-Mart in case you don't have a craft store near you. :-)
@@sparrowhawkerdesigns I checked Amazon and got one. Never knew they existed until watching you. Learned so much from you with this video. What does your video name mean? Interesting name.
@@carolynhamilton3316 That's okay we've all done things like that at some point. So happy you got an iron. I absolutely love mine and use it for so many crafts! Thanks for watching!
I usually use the purple one that turns clear later, but I think this one is just standard craft glue stick. You don't need a lot. Just enough to get it to not pucker or move when you're sewing around it.
(I hope nothing got lost in translation!)
No! It is not helpful because I now want to go to the secondhand store and empty that from wonderful fabrics more than ever! But other than that, it was helpful 😁❤️
Omg, the secondhand stores are the best. I love antique stores because you can just find amazing things there that you can't anywhere else, but you usually $$pay$$ for it! The secondhand stores are cheap. The fabrics I used for this demo, the 2 lady's jackets, the green damask napkin and the deep wine colored fabric I think was a prom dress, all came from second hand store. The only things that didn't were the cottons. xoxo

Lovely, crazy quilts are so much fun, no set rules, just have fun!
That's why I love them! After making traditional quilts and having to follow all those rules, crazy quilting is freeing! Lol. Thanks for watching! XX
I love crazy quilting as a way to use up my small scraps and I generally do it all by hand .This is a great tut

Your work is beautiful! Please excuse my confusion about the picture.... is this on paper? And was it printed with an inkjet printer?

I think I need to get an iron like that. 👍🏻

Hi what is the size of the muslin square? Thanks
I was using a 12 inch square. Tfw. xo
What. Kind of glue stick are you using?
