thnak you for the shout out sparrowhawker! go create, go play, go have fun!
Oh yes
Hi Lauretta! New to your channel and I'm so thrilled that you came up in my feed! We have lots in common. I love embroidery, crochet, new to EPP, and starting to get the quilting bug. Oh! I'm in St. Louis! ha! Your idea for Daily Life Stitching is just awesome! I think that I may make this my 2025 project. Absolutely do-able and what a wonderful way to "save the days for later." I wonder how this project has gone for you over this past year? Any tips/suggestions that you would share? Would you share how you plan to put it all together? Thanks! ~ Kelly in Oakville
Dear Kelly-in-Oakville, I, too, am in Oakville! Small, small world. 2024 has been a bit of a challenge for me in the Life Department, so I have not made any videos since April. Hoping to remedy that soon in the next week or so. If you are interested in quilting, the closest best place to go is Warm-n-Cozy over in Columbia, IL. There is also a quilt shop in Arnold and there is Heyde's on Tesson Ferry. I'm sure you've heard of Jackman's although that's a bit of a trek for Oakvillians. But, Jackman's is the only one I know of who carries any EPP stuff. But Warm-n-Cozy is my Happy Place. My home away from home. Have fun with it all!!! xo
@ I hope that life calms for you soon 🤞🏼. I look forward to your next video! And thank you so much for all the great tips! ☺️ ~K
@sparrowhawkerdesigns Oh! Also, have you heard of The City Sewing Room? It is fabulous! So many kind folks. Almost all their quilting/fabric/sewing/notions are $2 a pound! All donations for charity. It’s a little bit of a trek, but totally worth it! 🧵🪡🎉
Your composition and stitching is just plain eye candy. I love this piece.
Thank you so much! xo
These hearts remind me of the IFAQH website in which you make a quilted heart and “sew” it out into the world to make someone smile or inspire others. It’s anonymous and more for the “finder” who is allowed to keep the quilted heart. That’s what brought me to this video. ❤
Thank you for watching! I am unfamiliar with what IFAQH is or what it stands for, but it sounds like a lovely idea. I stitched these hearts as a thank you gift for an exchange that I had years ago. xo
I love this, thank you ❤
Thank you! And thanks for watching. xo
I love the more masculine stuff 15:57
Me too! So happy to hear from people who like the less frilly stuff. Thank you for watching. xo
I ran across videos of slow stitching art… I love it!! And I just subscribed to your channel… I can’t wait to get started but first want watch and get familiar with the idea of the art. Only problem I can’t embroider… but I will figure it out ❤️will be watching!
Welcome and thank you! If you don't know how to embroider, slow stitching is the PERFECT place to start. I hope you have fun with it. xo
Gorgeous🤩😍
Thank you! xo
One of the best tutorials for beginners. Can’t wait to start mine💐
Thank you! I hope you have fun! xo
This is a beautiful book. I love birds!
Thank you! xo
Thank you for sharing. I’ve seen a lot of fabric houses, but yours are by far my favorite.
Thank you, so much! It was so fun to make. xo
Totally inspired!
Oh good! Have fun with whatever you make. Thank you for watching. xo
Thank you 😊
As per other comments, I"m not quite sure how you did the back too...i get the front, the batting, etc, but the back was really not addressed.... Thank you - it's a beautiful project !!
The back is done exactly like the front. Then you stitch them together. (I just left the edges raw instead of "hiding" the seam.) If you don't want the extra bulk of two pieces of batting, then just stitch one side onto batting, the other side you can just stitch on to a piece of cotton or an old sheet or something, then sew the two pieces together. Or if you don't want to sew them together, you can glue them together. Thanks for watching!
@@sparrowhawkerdesigns thank you so much for clarifying - I LOVE your creations !!
Very beautiful so creative ❤
Thank you so much 😊
Elmers glue also works and doesn’t discolor the fabric. I have used it in quilting to tack fabrics together prior to quilting.
I am very new to this ,im collecting fabrics can I ask why not put a small amount of fabric glue to hold down fabrics before doing final stitching ,saves undoing all the hold down stitches
You can use whatever you want! I personally don't use glue because if I would make a last minute decision to change something around, all I have to do is snip the thread and move everything. I also just don't like to use glue, I guess, because I don't know if, over time, it will turn colors or not? But there are no rules to this and whatever way works best for you is what you do! Thanks for watching! xo
What type batting do you use for slow stitcjing
I either use cotton or an 80/20 mix. 80% cotton and 20% poly. But you can use anything. Also, you don't have to use batting, you can use felt, wool, a thicker piece of fabric, an old quilt, like, literally anything. Thanks for watching! xo
Beautiful
Thank you, so much! xo
Beautiful crochet table covering underneath..lovely
Thank you so much 😊

GREAT idea!!! Thank you!!!
You're welcome! I hope you have fun with it. Thanks for watching. xo
@@sparrowhawkerdesigns You’re so welcome & thank you for sharing your designs & God-given talents.
Much appreciated! Do you buy all these things on the paper pieces site?❤
@joybells57 I bought the turning cutting table off Amazon, the glue sticks from my regular quilt shop, but you can also get them on Amazon. The templates I got off Etsy and the papers from PaperPieces.com. Although you can get the templates and the papers from both Etsy and PaperPieces. I just buy stuff when I see it. :-) Thank you for watching.
Great detailed tutorial, thank you! Will the glue hold for a long time till I collect many for my quilt?
Thank you! I noticed that after a few months some of the glue had lost its stickiness. I haven't really left mine for years or anything, so I don't really know. But, honestly, most of the time when I pick something up months later, it's still holding. And usually if it has come undone it's usually just a little part here or there, not usually the whole thing. If you are going to leave yours for a couple of years before you start stitching, basting would probably be better. Thank you for watching! xo
This is beautiful!
Thank you so much! xo
Thank you for this video. I’m just learning about this and it’s right up my alley. Fun and interesting and I love your informality in showing us. Thanks.
Thank you! Oh, and thank you on the "informality" comment. One of the complaints I get about my tutorials is that they aren't professional and I talk too much! :-) xo
Beautiful!
Thank you!
So glad I came across you channel. I love your books you’ve made
Thank you very much! xo
Great tutorial thanks for sharing ❤

What did you paint the stamped fabric with?
I have a few different mediums that I use and it's been so long since I made this that I'm not sure which one I used. It's possible, since it's never going to be washed that I just used an acrylic paint. However, I also have fabric paints that I use. And permanent markers. It could have been any of the above. There are several different brands of fabric paint, I use both Jacquard and the Folk Art fabric paint. Hope this helped! xo
