- The old all-in-one desktop PC - NEC Valuestar PC-VN570NSW was powered up by core i7 and external GPU.
Change point:
CPU: Celeron 1005M (2 core 2 thread) to Core i7 3630QM (4 core 4 thread)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics (internal) to GeForce GTX 1650 (external)
Storage: 1TB HDD to 480GB SSD
"V8.0 EXP GDC Laptop External Independent Video Card Dock PCI-E Mini For Beast" is used to convert MINI-PCI to PCI Express x16 slot.
I'm lucky that this project worked in no trouble.
Thanks to the "Beast" device manufacturer and NEC computer Inc.
PERFECT!!! i also have 3632qm and was wondering how much performance loss there was and then you hit us with that amazing graph at the end ! %60-70 is about what i expected, its reslly good. Thsnk you for this!
best comparison on the youtube! I am serious Man, there is no question in minds! Verily thank you..
Also literally vibin to music on repeat xD
It did not work for me because of the update. I did everything and did not finish the problems for the Dell laptop. E6540
Love the backsound!
i cant open nvidia control panel on internal monitor.. should i use external monitor to open nvidia control panel?
Finally a build that doesn't use full size pc power supply
Nice video! I am subscribing!
IT WAS A VERY GOOD VIDEO THANKS A LOT
Can I Connect this device to my normal HDMI port in laptop, not mini PCIE and this will work well?
Do you have a video where you test with internsl screen?
excellent! I am also upgrading my NEC VN750/C (Chinese version of VN770). Now it's i7 640m, sata ssd, 8gb ram and 5G wifi, I thought it would be the end until I saw your video! Thanks for the video! And could you show me where should the b-cas card module insert? I think my version does not have the b-cas card slot but it should have a place to connect. Thank you!
2:54 does that come separately
6:04 rtx 1650 at top middle ☠
Is there another way of connecting the Dock Beast to your laptop instead of having to take it apart and put it in the wifi slot? Maybe with an hdmi to hdmi adapter?
It seems like a risk to take apart the cover to have to do that. Also when I bought a beast dock it didn't have a PCI adapter or cable. It only had the main cable. Its hard to figure out how to use it also since it didn't come with instructions.
Don't they have a way to let it go in through a different means like an HDMI adapter or something? Thanks.
the power supply is very nice, could it be used on the built-in display ?( internal - display )
the power supply is dell d220p 01
It's possible
If your laptop has Nvidia gpu already, and you want to use external Nvidia gpu, need to uninstall the nvidia driver first, same goes with amd.
If your laptop only has Intel HD or none, then you just need to install the driver of your ext gpu.
Can you help me? When i start my laptop with the GTX 1650 windows crashes it just loads till the logo and then crashes...
Are you using same PSU as in this video?
My laptop doesn't detect the graphics cards in device manager please help
use windows 8.1 or latest windows 10 OS.. some cards wont get detected in windows 7 and seven is an old OS now.
thinkpad X230でgeforce1650でためしてもらいたいのですが、できませんか?
OK! Good Good
Konbanwa. Is it compatible to put an RTX 2070 on the Beast? And also im using an ROG Strix Scar Edition GL503GE. With a 1050Ti only. Because i wanted to improve my GPU so i come up to this type of plan. TIA 🙏
what music that you using on entire video? i want it bro
Thanks a ton man! Just the video I was looking for!! I wanted a good gaming experience on a budget and was thinking of hooking up a gtx1650 to my dell 15 laptop with an i5 7th gen.. will update after I install it.
One question I wanna know if i need an external power supply for the gpu or the cable that you used would work ?
Shall it work if i do the same
I have pentium dual core inside ddr2 ram
Mey you tell me?
Any gpu dock would be compaitable to my pc?
dual core with ddr2 and egpu do not have a good combination.
You should put some tape on the metal on the antenna wires, it's not good to have metal just floating around in your case
That antenna Wires is passive. It doesn't even powered by anything else except when Plugged into WiFi Card.
Once you Unhook the antenna, it is as good as dead Cable that play no role in Conducting anything.
Hi. thanks for this video.
I bought the same GPU and it doesnt fit on my cabinet.
Is there a way to connect it like you but using the PCI 16x por?
would it bottleneck with an i5 8250u?
Can you use this dock for small mini itx build external pgu? I have asus rog b450-i strix motherboard with m2_2 & m2_1 any idea if it does work?
Yes it works. Buy EXP GDC v9.0b M.2 NVMe
Use this keywords on AliExpress:
Beast EXP GDC.
And then you need to look at EXP GDC v9.0b with M.2 NVMe slot and it has 2 HDMI cables.
The reason it has 2 HDMI cables is intended for Data stream (merely for wiring) because, you know, NVMe x4 speed. But it could also work on NVMe x2 speed.
Please make sure that your M.2 slot says "NVMe" engraved on its PCB board. If your M.2 slot says "SSD" then you cannot use it for eGPU.
So no extra 6 pin power to your gpu, is that correct? Cause my gpu dont have extra 6 pin as well. Please confirm if no extra 6 pin power will also work well?
You are correct. My GTX1650 don't need extra power and work well using this dock.
do you think you can put a pcie extender into the riser can? I will mount my GPU horizontally in a diy case for the riser
Using Extender Actually will increase amounts of Latency. Not recommended to use additional Riser Extender.
Just straight forward using this EXP GDC.
@@ClayWheeler thank ill keep that in mind
Which drivers have you downloaded for the gpu ?
Hello good day is this exp gdc v8.0 for 1650?
No you should use 8.4d
Because i use 8.0 with rx580 and then random fleeze you computer below 30 minutes
Nahhh i should buy new exp gdc.
EXP GDC v8.0 is okay for GTX 1650.
All you need is more than 75 Watt to feed the GTX 1650, so this video is 100% accurate.
The comments above me is Lying.
EXP GDC v8.0 can handle RTX 3070 just fine.
I'm specifically interested in buying the Elgato 4K60 Pro Mk.2 for my future gaming desktop (predominantly for its multifeed feature), but I don't have the financial means yet to put the latter together. Hence I wondered, if I were to buy said capture card now, could I maybe already put it to use with my older laptop using an EXP GDC (Mini PCI-E Version)? My laptop is an Asus R556LA-XX1875T, and up until now I've managed to use it for window capturing at 720p60fps just fine. Obviously I would use the capture card to capture and stream at lower resolutions and/or framerates, until it can be integrated in the proper gaming desktop...
how did this work out? looking to add my 1070 to a laptop specifically to use the laptop as a streaming PC
@@CronusTheGreat I never really got around to it. I bought an EXP GDC which is sitting on my shelf, but in the meantime I got a better laptop and Thunderbolt eGPU enclosure, way better. Perhaps I'll try the above project one day for fun. Nobody really has the answer to my original question still. I only worry about the safety given the EXP GDC is not really that much accounted for.
Can you give me a link to the powersuppy?
I got this power supply in Japanese net online auction, so I have no idea. But I think you can get online shop such as eBay or Amazon. Please search following model no.
DELL ZVC220HD12S1
the power supply is dell d220p 01
May i know.. what is different between v8.0 and v8.4d
8.0 can only up to gtx 960 max while 8.4d gtx 1060 ti / rx 500 series. rx 560-590 i think . not sure though....
hey man thx for the video tell the name of that power supply like the charger u used
dell d220p 01
the power supply is dell d220p 01
Thanks 👍😊
Great build! Where did you get the dell pcie power adapter?
Unfortunately this Dell DA Brick PSU is no longer in Production.
Anything you find online are always Secondhand.
Complete name of the Product :

Please note that the 8 Pins is completely different from PCIe Power Pins connector

Can i use exp gdc for 1660 supper?
And what exp gdc version?
Is your Laptop have Thunderbolt or M.2 NVMe? If yes, you can use the better GDC docking. There's at least 2 different model of EXP GDC.
One model like V8.5c is used for old Laptops with DDR3 which mostly don't have Thunderbolt or M.2 where you use WiFi PCIe slot.
The other one is suitable for Thunderbolt or M.2 and has far better Bandwidth and can use RTX.
However if your Laptop have DDR4 but don't have Thunderbolt or M.2 then you're Limited to V8.5c and must use Mini PCIe from WiFi.
@@ClayWheeler hi can i use rtx 2060 on exp gdc v8.0 or v8.5c ?
@@ClayWheeler my laptop has i7700hq 16gb ddr4 ram .Laptop has an usb 3.1 typec but i dont know if it supports thunderbolt.Have m.2 support but i use m2 slot for ssd
@@safolee no you can't use that USB type C for EXP GDC. You need Thunderbolt. But I think you have more than just one M.2 slot inside the motherboard. Just open the case.
@@safolee EXP GDC v8.5c support up to GTX 16 series and RTX 20 series.
There's also EXP GDC v9.0 which supports up to RTX 30 series but it is still unstable.
Can u share link of power supply or detail what it is?
Dell DA-2 ( 8pin 220w)

Nice! Do you know if gtx 1660 is compatible with the Beast dock?
Unfortunately, I don't know the compatibility. But I found the movie of using GTX1660 super.
th-cam.com/video/mWsjkvyu7QE/w-d-xo.html
I hope it goes well.
th-cam.com/video/-2BfrmuE1o8/w-d-xo.html He used a dell inspiron 15 7559 and it looks like it detects on the computer. So it seems compatible. Video is not in english.
Buy GDC V8.5c for GTX 16XX series.
it comes down to drivers. but theres a better one that has a dual cord and will make the 1660 worth using because with the single cord one it doesnt have a fast enough transfer rate without the thunderbolt or the dual cord i forget the name i think its like a 9.5 or this link www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001598456971.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.1ade55f9r0mqO5&algo_pvid=efa10613-b353-41a3-91ee-c2caaf0b0240&algo_expid=efa10613-b353-41a3-91ee-c2caaf0b0240-5&btsid=0bb0622d16174200222543311ea4d3&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
you want that one but it needs a 2016 or newer laptop.
wait RTX 1650 is a thing? ohhhh ok
Plz make more videos
Hi, which driver you have installed for gtx 1650 ?.
I visited NVIDIA web site and selected gtx1650 for download driver.
There was nothing difficult.
Quick tips if you have no idea what kind of GPU Driver to install, I recommend using 3rd party app called "ioBit Driver Booster".
It will scan your entire Laptop including your eGPU for the Best driver. This app gives you the Best driver based on Most Voted and High rating Stable Driver, which means you will not always get the Latest Driver update, but you will get the most Stable Driver that Actually works for your setup without any crash.
Hi! What's your version of Exp Gdc?
And Is that GTX1650 DDR6 or DDR5? Thanks
Thank you for watching my TH-cam. The version is 8.0. And the GTX1650 is DDR6.

Fortunately, no error such as 43 in my case. Good luck!
