Granny Gums did guess star, along with other members of Jolene's family in one episode. Granny was a marathon runner. Then on the last episode of Alice, Granny Gums would die and she would give Jolene an inheritance to open her own beauty parlor. Mel added 5000 dollars to her, Alice, and Vera after he sold the diner that would be torn down.
Belle was a little too similar to flo but Jolene was different from both being she had a truck driver background. That’s probably why her character works better than belle
