How can you update the iPad if you don’t have Wi-Fi for real?

I did all this but it still won't work. My iPad won't connect to my mobile hotspot, when I get the password wrong it says unable to connect to hotspot but when I do the right password it says can't connect.. I'm stuck
I have the same problem, did you sort it out? I know I have the right password, I log in with my other devices with that exact password but my iPad wont connect.

Can't check for an update if you don't have a wi-fi connection. Now I'm wondering if I should have trusted what he had me do with the network settings. (Edit) It worked. Lol
But why does this happen? that's the real issue. I never changed my password. It's been locked in. I take my ipad somewhere and come home and all of a sudden it's blind to my home wifi. Wrong password.
