@@sixbux Thank you Jacob for this video that is STILL relevant in 2024! Indeed, it is VERY GOOD, well explained, brief video. The issue on my iPad 9 was in the DNS settings. It was set to automatic and did not have a DNS addy. I turned of automatic and went to manual settings where I put the same DNS addy that you used in your video, then went back to automatic. I then had internet on the iPad 9 again!

Start by restarting your Router and make sure other devices have internet connection and can go on the internet.
Tips for iPhone or iPad WiFi Dropping Out
      1. Turn Off Wi-Fi Assist (if available.) Check Settings > Cellular and scroll all the way down. If Wi-Fi Assist is toggled ON, toggle it OFF
      2. Reset Network Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then rejoin the Network again. Do not do this step if you don’t know your WiFi password(s)! How To Fix Messages and iMessage Problems in iOS 11
2.a Resets all your network connection options and sets your device’s network settings back to the factory defaults
2.b Clears your current cellular (if applicable) and WiFi networks including saved networks, WiFi passwords, and VPN settings
2.c Before you reset your network’s settings, be sure have your WiFi network name and passwords available for re-entry
      3. Put your iDevice in Airplane Mode, turn WiFi back on, and test out your WiFi to see if that solves the problem
      4. Or try switching Airplane mode ON and then switching WiFi ON. Next, perform a hard restart then switch Airplane mode back OFF. Now check if your WiFi connects and stays connected
      5. Disable any VPN apps on your iDevice and test WiFi again
Then have a look at these articles and see if can help you. appletoolbox.com/wifi-dropping-not-available-ios-update-fix/ or www.support.com/how-to/how-to-fix-wifi-internet-connection-on-iphone-ipad-12836

any idea how to fix it say hidden network when connecting on my ipad?

    • @sixbux
      @sixbux  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Try to have a look at this.
A hidden network is a wifi network that is available, but the name isn't broadcasted. When you search for wifi networks, it doesn't come up in the list. Your device can detect it, it just doesn't know anything about it so you would need to know the network name (SSID), type of security, user name & password in order to join.
Join a hidden Wi-Fi network on Mac
A hidden Wi-Fi network is a network whose name is not broadcast. To join a hidden network, you need to know the name of the network, the type of wireless security, and if necessary, the mode, user name, and password.
Check with the network administrator if you are not sure what to enter.
On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi status icon in the menu bar, click Other Networks, then click Other at the bottom of the Other Networks list.
If the Wi-Fi status icon isn’t in the menu bar, see Show Wi-Fi status in the menu bar.
      Enter the network name.
Click the Security pop-up menu, then choose the type of wireless security.
Enter the mode, identity, user name, and password, as required.
The fields that appear depend on the type of wireless security for the network. You may not need to enter all of these items.
      Select options:
Select “Show password” to have the password displayed.
Select “Remember this network” to keep the network in the list of preferred networks so you don’t have to enter the information again.
      Click Join.

Hey guys. None of the very basic fix did work for me. But I accidentally found out something, which I didn't even know my Ipad was doing. So this might have happened to you guys who have tried and tried to fix your wifi connection on Ipad, but it still doesn't work.
Go to general, then go to VPN, click on the i- icon for zenmate ( not sure if you guys have other names there ), and then you might see that the Connect On Demand might be on, and somehow, this disturb the wifi connection. I don't know how my was on, but anyway. I took it off, and now my Wifi works perfectly. Try it out for those who havent been able to fix it yet.

For Internet problems like slow browsing that are attributed to a corrupted Wi-Fi network in use, forgetting the corrupted network and setting it up as new is usually needed. And this is how it's done: Navigate to Settings-> Wi-Fi menu from the Home screen. Make sure that the Wi-Fi switch is turned on.

    • @sixbux

Update your office or home Wi-Fi router's firmware to the latest version. Outdated firmware often causes connection problems. Some routers automatically check for firmware updates. If yours doesn't, visit the router manufacturer's website and look for firmware on the Downloads or Support page.
Try: Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears. The apple logo should appear after about 10 seconds.
Reset your Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Start by restarting your Router and make sure other devices have internet connection and can go on the internet.
Then have a look at these articles and see if can help you. appletoolbox.com/wifi-dropping-not-available-ios-update-fix/ or www.support.com/how-to/how-to-fix-wifi-internet-connection-on-iphone-ipad-12836
The next troubleshooting step when your iPad is not connecting to Wi-Fi is to reset its network settings. ... Open Settings and tap General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. Enter your iPad passcode, then tap Reset Network Settings to confirm. Your iPad will turn off, perform the reset, then turn back on.
Get help connecting to Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
      1. Make sure that your router is on and you're within range.
      2. Make sure that Wi-Fi is on and you can see your network.
      3. If asked, enter your Wi-Fi password.
      4. Check for issues with your Wi-Fi network.
      5. Check your cables and connections.
      6. Restart.
If you're connected to a Wi-Fi network but you can’t get online, try to use your Wi-Fi network on other devices. If you can’t get online using your other devices, there might be a service outage. Call your cable company or internet provider for help.
Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network in a different location. If your device can connect, you need to get help with your Wi-Fi network. If your device can’t connect to any Wi-Fi networks, contact Apple.
Update your Wi-Fi router with the latest firmware and make sure that the router supports your Apple product. For more information, contact the router's manufacturer.

I got 2 ipads and both fail to connect to the internet. Both are 6th Gen MR&F2LL/a, I am about to toss them out. I tried so many things besides doing a complete restore. I can do updates but no access to internet, youtube etc.

    • @sixbux
      @sixbux  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Have a look at these articles, they talk about the same issue.www.payetteforward.com/ipad-not-connecting-to-wifi-heres-why-the-real-fix/ or support.apple.com/en-us/HT204051 or www.lifewire.com/ipad-wont-connect-to-internet-4176824
Why can't I turn wifi on my iPad?
      1) Perform a Forced Restart: Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Allow device to restart. 2) Reset Network Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Rejoin the Network again.
      Restart Your Router
While you’re restarting your iPad, turn your router off and back on as well. When your iPad won’t connect to Wi-Fi, sometimes your router is to blame. To restart it, simply unplug it from the wall and plug it back in!
Forget Your Wi-Fi Network and Reconnect
Now that we’ve worked through the basic fixes, it’s time to move onto some more in-depth troubleshooting steps. First, we’ll try forgetting your Wi-Fi network on your iPad.
When you connect your iPad to a new Wi-Fi network for the first time, it saves data about the network and how to connect to it. If something changes in how your iPad connects to the network (e.g. you changed the password), forgetting the network will give it a fresh start.

Why is my iPad connected to wifi but not working?
      Reset Your iPad's Network Settings
The last troubleshooting step when your iPad is not connecting to Wi-Fi is to reset its network settings. This will restore all of your iPad's Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, and VPN settings to factory defaults. ... Open Settings and tap General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.
Resetting your network settings is the best way to fix Wifi password incorrect issue. Restart your Wifi router and then try reconnecting. Otherwise, go to Settings and then move on to Reset-> Reset Network Settings and then enter Wifi password. This should fix the issue
