Rest in peace wii u. You were never the best selling console there was or even the best console I've ever played. You were made fun of for being weak and not having big name titles coming for your system. But what you did offer was truly amazing. I remember nights where I would spend with a friend just playing games like Nintendo land or Mario Kart 8 laughing our asses off with a shit ton of drinks and pizza. Or the even the other amazing online titles like splatoon and smash bros 4 and so many more games I could mention right now. Around the afternoon was when I first heard the pitter patter of miis feet and the echoey, serene music. I finally started up one of the games: Mario Kart 8. I went into VS mode and I was super exited as I looked up at the big tv while watching the track intro play. I wasn’t very good, mind you, but I had a lot of fun. I did not realize, however, that you had to unlock more tracks in grand prix mode. My friend told me about how you could unlock the tracks. I also played this game at a friends house before. Christmas 2013, I was either getting an Xbox 360 E or my dream console, the Wii U. I got the Wii U console with Skylanders Swap Force, and it was by far the most memorable day I had. A year later, I got Super Smash Bros for Wii U and a Mario Amiibo.
I never had I Wii U, but my friend did and that was THE PARTY HOUSE, actually though, we played Mario Party 10, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, etc. It was always so fun there. They moved away, unfortunately, and though I was young and very bad at games (I still am lol) it was always such a fun time. I have nostalgia for older consoles like the Wii U and I don't know why. I guess I liked these consoles in a past life or something. I'll cut it off there, but I have many memories of the Wii U.
Its December 2012, On a cold, Friday night. You just got home from the Mall. You just got Wipeout 3 for the Wii U! You grab your Hot Chocolate, and relax and play.
Regardless of what the Wii U got wrong, one thing it nailed was the sense of online connectivity between owners. That feeling I’d get every time I booted the console up and saw all the Miis talking on miiverse about the current popular titles was so magical, something I feel the switch hasn’t managed to match for me.
Look, I know the Wii U was way far from being one of Nintendo’s best selling consoles, but that doesn’t take away from the absolute nostalgia that it gave. The games were great, the features were great (especially the GamePad with the feature of being able to play games on it and the TV), but most importantly, the nostalgia was the best part. I never owned a Wii U or anything related to it when I was a kid, but I own one now, and I have to say, the nostalgia is literally taking me back to 2013-2014. God I miss those days, especially the years before those😔
I was a third-grader sitting on the couch. I'd just got home from school on a Wednesday when my dad was off and I was waiting for my dad to come back out to the living room to play Mario Kart with me. Though the sounds from the console made me feel uneasy or disoriented, I sat there anyway and recalled everything that had happened that day. That's nostalgia for me.
hello cat fren. I remember getting it in 2013. the sounds of it were so pleasing. my uncle who bought it, brought it back to his house. we then moved there in 2018 and i got to play with the wii u. i played it on and off for 4 years. i've since then moved. I still have it in my bag. i should set it up
My favorite part of the Warawara Plaza is that when the Gamepad wasn’t touched for awhile, the music would slow down. And when you started using it again it would speed back up.
MAN the Wii U was such a great system, it was never a failure, just marketed poorly, but the Wii U brought us some amazing exclusive games and it even brought us the switch. Love this system.
Art in a nutshell: Music that sounded ambient from the monitor but which, if also played from the controller, added a beat to it. A console that respected all its predecessors, which had allowed us to recover an avalanche of old classics from the most disparate consoles, which optimized the social component, the online component and the services of the operating system. All without taking into account backwards compatibility with Wii and even with the Wii Shop. This was Wii U, which I consider to be one of the best Nintendo consoles because of all these factors. Also one of the most original, considering the bizarre controller with screen. As we know, it is one of the most unfortunate, underrated consoles, also due to the choice of name (which seemed to indicate a banal extension of Wii) which led to its few sales and has, perhaps, led to a change in mentality and strategy of market on many fronts, sometimes questionable. Nintendo's last great home console closed down online services this year, cutting off access to an incredible catalog the likes of which we've never seen before. I want to remember it like this, but I think this music will speak for itself
Perfect meditation. Music. I could listen to this every day when you're stressed and listen to this every time before bed. I feel so bad that Chase's console was so underrated. This also would be his meditation theme.
Man, the Wii U is just so nostalgic to me. I remember coming home after school playing Nintendo Land or Splatoon. The Wii U is just my favorite Nintendo console.
It's that Nintendo charm, fun things to track and do on the side, an Eshop with constantly rotating music and varying layouts depending on season or the next big release coming out. Mii's front and center. And such great music composed for each and every single application on the system. If they're gonna stick with what the switch does i'm truly gonna miss this, it really gave a console identity and it really made Wii, 3DS and Wii U feel special from the moment you hook them up.
Man I don't care if the Wii U didn't sell, that system was awesome! Splatoon, Mario Maker, Smash 4, Mario Kart 8, and a ton of other great games provided me with so may hours of entertainment!
Woah... 6 years? God, time really has flown by. This was my childhood console! I remember everyday after school, I would go onto my wii u account, load up a game, and play with my classmates. So many good memories were made, I made so many creations, my collection of games... I kind of miss it. But now we gotta move on. Thank you Wii U, for making my childhood truly amazing.
I love listening to this, it makes me feel so relaxed, but it also makes me sad. I play the Wii U with my cousin every time I see him, but I don’t own one. He goes camping a lot so I barely get to see him, so hearing this reminds me of hanging out with him.
Man, I can't believe today Nintendo Wii U's and 3Ds' servers are shutting down... I don't know if I'll be still able to live without them, they were like, my entire chiIdhood... I can still remember how I first got this console with my brother for Christmas, and then my cousins also bought it. How the day after Christmas Eve I was watching Wii games with my dad and there we spotted Splatoon. When we didn't have our own phones yet, I would tell my dad to text my aunt that I would be on Voice Chat on Wii U and so my cousins and I would chat, there were also various effects and we would draw moustaches for example. How I played Splatoon 1 for the first time and how my dad had to beat the first boss because we couldn't, how I fooled around and tried to sing and dance like the Splatoon guys, how we tried to make friends with the people we played battles with (one of them was called Papa), how I played more than my cousin, and still had a lower level than him and never managed to hit the highest level, which was 50. I still remember how they announced the Nintendo Switch and when I found out there would be a Splatoon 2, I pre-ordered the console and that game and whenever I drive past the store where I picked up the Switch, those feelings are still with me. How my cousin had to beat us the last boss in Splatoon 1 because we couldn't beat it either, how I played The Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker with him and we almost died from laughter because as kids we couldn't pass that one level and it turned out to be very easy. And how I got Super Mario 3d World at the end of the school year for good grades from my grandfather, then with my cousins throughout the vacations, day in and day out, and later also through the winter vacations we would get up at 7 am and play Mario 3D World or Karts. And when we went to the beach, the adults bought us water guns and then we pretended all the time that we were Splatoon folks, as I went later with my parents to Fuertaventura and there I played like that all the time too. Sometimes coming home we pretended that my older cousin was Mario, my younger cousin Luigi, my brother Toad and I was Princess Peach, because that's how we always chose characters. I still remember how we bought a random game which was called "Tank tank tank!" and how we were beating a three-headed dragon or some big spiders. How we did Mii for the first time using camera scanning, where we almost cried from laughter. How we played Super Mario Party while eating sunflower. How we played Lego City Undercover, where the game lagged and kept going back to the moment where we got eaten by a shark and my older cousin yelled at us. How we played Rabbids Land, Chompy Chomp Chomp Party, Art Academy: Sketch Pad, Runner 2 and 3, Fast Racing Neo, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyrics, Color Zen, Armikrog or Zen Pinball 2... I still remember playing Tomodachi Life on 3Ds and crying along with the character who was rejected by the main character. I still remember how I got Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, how I decorated interiors, how I later dreamed with all my heart to become a designer. I remember leaving a stylus for 3Ds in my dad's office and having to get a spare until we found one. I remember Yoshi's Wooly World, whose soundtrack my brother tried to sing as he passed the last boss and almost cried. I remember Luigi's Mansion 2 and how I wanted to have the same ringtone for my phone as Luigi. I remember YoKai Watch, after which I used to go to the forest almost all the time, pretend to see ghosts and dream about that watch. I remember Cooking Mama, after which I wanted to be able to bake and cook like her, but nothing worked for me......... I'm going to miss those consoles soooooo much. Thank you for upbringing me. Thank you for teaching me so many things. Thank you for connecting me and my cousins. Thank you for an amazing childhood. I'll never forget you.
It was a cozy winter day right after Christmas, but still part of school holidays, I was a teenager and just returned from my local tech store with a brand new Wii U Nintendoland pack, I crashed with my WiiU on my bike because it was so slippery and icy, but everything survived, I set it up at home and was greeted with this sound. Browsing Miiverse for endless days afterwards and communicating with my friends instead of using Skype just because we wanted to, this felt like the pure essence of internet for me back in the days
Man, I remember when I got my Wii u in 2012, so many nostalgic memories, playing Wii party u, using Wii u chat with my friends this was my childhood console from 5 (2012) till (2016) 9 years old. So many underrated gems. Now as of January 18, 2022, you can't add eshop credit to the Wii U version of the eshop. The Wii u will always have a place in my heart as a decent console with cringey ads
wii u chat was the best lol, wii party u made for lots of good memories and fun too :) nintendoland and game and wario had really fun multiplayer games too
The Wii U was the first ever Nintendo console that I have ever had I will never forget the time where my parents got me this console for my 9th birthday
@Walther Penne that’s one of the reasons why Wii U is the best console I’ve ever played imo! I need music! I love music I’ve always loved singing and dancing to music, so if there’s a console, IT NEEDS MUSIC!
I remember when I got the console for Christmas. Then I realized two months later almost everything was going to be discontinued. RIP Miiverse, you will be missed.
This is why I love Nintendo. These ambient themes make me feel so homely, like I can finally be excited to play new shiny games right out of the wrapping on Christmas Day.
It was the only console I loved in the world. It guided me all the times I was bored, or sad. But it was at my cousin's house. So sad. The gamepad is now destroyed, after years. I am so happy hearing the music. It wakes memories that make me nostalgic.
+WinterPR Who cares about the switch? The wii u has far more games than switch does. And i don't care how powerfull it is. The wii u is still and will be on my favorite console list for all time.
There's something so calming and soft about this song. I ADORE listening to Wii U system music while doing hw or editing now it helps me stay super focused and relaxed

Its December 2012, On a cold, Friday night. You just got home from the Mall. You just got Wipeout 3 for the Wii U! You grab your Hot Chocolate, and relax and play.
Lol 😆
:)
Regardless of what the Wii U got wrong, one thing it nailed was the sense of online connectivity between owners. That feeling I’d get every time I booted the console up and saw all the Miis talking on miiverse about the current popular titles was so magical, something I feel the switch hasn’t managed to match for me.
it is so relaxing and very futuristic. it would go good with iOS 9 even iOS 7 or 8
Yes
Omg I would love this in iphones
+Kieran Ho Crap. PS4 is more relaxing :D
+TaePoDongIII Yeps ps4 is more relaxing

Kind of reminds me of the Gamecube Menu theme :D

I don't know why but I got scared every time I see the Gamecube Menu and Music
Agreed
An underrated console.
We will NEVER forget these simpler times!
I had a wii, but missed out on the u, but man seeing videos of this console made it seem so futuristic.
How?

This makes me so nostalgic you don’t understand. The memories, and the childhood
God I miss those days, especially the years before those😔
I got to be honest Nintendo has the best music.there games and system menu has such good music.
Nintendo Switch not :(
Mostly DS and Wii/Wii U switch doesn't have music but it's still a good console
Sorry Nintendo Switch, but you don't have a cool menu like the Wii U has. (Sorry for my English, I'm learning the language).
True, true
The menu of the switch doesn't have the personality the previous Nintendo consoles had in their menu's

April 2024... it's approaching quickly... thank you for the good times my old friend, wii u
Btw if you are wondering, this is only the tv side audio. The gamepad plays drums
I still have it in my bag.
i should set it up
The Wii U still lives....

RIP Wii u you were truly one of Nintendos most creative and unique consoles with tons of amazing games.
Sometimes I turn my wii u on just to listen to this it’s that good👍🏻
Hypnotic and relaxing...with just a touch of suspense. Love Nintendo's music. They've taken game music to the level of an art.
That's what Nintendo should have named this console. Hypnotic!!!
It's a shame that the Nintendo Switch doesn't have ambient and atmospheric music like this at all. Nothing but dead silence...
Brings back so many memories from 2013 and 2016
My favorite part of the Warawara Plaza is that when the Gamepad wasn’t touched for awhile, the music would slow down. And when you started using it again it would speed back up.
Who a late 2000s man like me remembering the good old days of Wii and Wii u days
MAN the Wii U was such a great system, it was never a failure, just marketed poorly, but the Wii U brought us some amazing exclusive games and it even brought us the switch. Love this system.

Art in a nutshell:
Music that sounded ambient from the monitor but which, if also played from the controller, added a beat to it.
Ahh, nostalgia... I remember the summer afternoons with friends where we would all play Mario kart 8 and smash 4...
Man, the Wii U is just so nostalgic to me. I remember coming home after school playing Nintendo Land or Splatoon. The Wii U is just my favorite Nintendo console.
2016.... I miss you
The Wii U was not only Nintendo’s most underrated console, but also the most nostalgic one for me. The home screen music is just pushing it more
It's that Nintendo charm, fun things to track and do on the side, an Eshop with constantly rotating music and varying layouts depending on season or the next big release coming out. Mii's front and center. And such great music composed for each and every single application on the system.
If they're gonna stick with what the switch does i'm truly gonna miss this, it really gave a console identity and it really made Wii, 3DS and Wii U feel special from the moment you hook them up.
When you cry yourself to sleep because of this remembering good times of life where it wasn't so stressful and where you had s imagination
I am in that situation right now
I miss those days back when there was no anxiety and you would play with your friends hang out and not worry about getting a dangerous disease.

Had a friend playing this and felt serenely calm, asked him what it was, absolutely not expecting this.

Even today, there are people who think the Wii U is bad, this is unbelievable and we need to put an end to this in the future.
The Nintendo menu music is so iconic and memorable and nostalgic
Wii U : Echo Ambient
Nintendo Switch : Flat out Quiet and dull
Why is every Wii tune so relaxing? I love it!
