Where do you think Wheel of Time Season 2 will go better or worse? My amateur impersonation of what I think a Season 2 Writers Room meet might've been like, I thought it'd be more fun this way. I used media interview snippets and other resources (inserted in video) to show where I was drawing the script from.
I doubt it will get better. They just can't make it better, they think the message (their agenda) is more important than the story. They think they are better than Robert Jordan. They don't really care about the material, just their message.
This is why I included as many direct quotes as I could, the parseltongue messaging makes it hard to pin them down, but the 'modernization' (IT'S THE YEAR 2021 REEE!) is clear
3:25 I love how they're all reciting the "approved language". 😂 I agree, WoT's a huge disaster. The foundation was destroyed in the voice over so there's no way they can recover, imo.
Overall, I liked the show, and think that future seasons will flow better. There are concerns, but aspects of the show were really spot on. Pretty much all of the WoT sites that were doing WoT content before the show came out had positive views on the show, though the social media did get swamped with naysayers as has been the case with pretty much every adaptation recently. You can see what people are swarming to say about the LotR Rings of Power show - and that isn't even out yet.
A very balanced position - I think the positive prereviews were because the worst offending episodes weren’t shown to most reviewers. The first 4-6 we’re acceptable, with moments of greatness and moments of awful. My concern on season 2 is what I baked into the script here - there is a lot of questionable remarks from Rafe and given where season 1 ended, it’s going to be harder to get fans back in who are frustrated.
Reality: there have been some ex-GOT writers on the Wheel of Time staff, Rafe Judkins has numerous media comments which may just be for marketing purposes (or not), and the effort to 'subvert' expectations (Rand maybe ISN'T the Dragon, Moraine actually has a Siuan relationship, Ishamael is actually sane, etc) was rife in Season 1
Absolutely, was already way into production when season 1 came out. The bigger issue is they didn’t listen much to the fan feedback (as far as early interviews show), so it’s unlikely season 2 will improve :(

LOL sorry David but not sure what show you were watching it you thought it had good moments.
It was a dumpster fire.
In retrospect, how do you feel Season 2 addressed the issues from Season 1? What was your reaction to S2?

They're not seriously making a season 2 after that dumpster fire are they?
