Been burning my way through The Expanse on Amazon Prime, this video was put together while in the middle of season 4 (focus on season 1-3). Fear and space has always fascinated me since Alien, and The Expanse does an awesome job delivering on Fear in multiple ways. What did you think of The Expanse and how it deals with our oldest emotion?

Good video. If you read the books, they really delve into the fear & trauma driving many of the characters. All of the chapters are character POVs so you always know what's going on internally (of that character) & what their motivations are. From a psychological & character building stand point, it's quite engaging. I think you would enjoy the novels/novellas/short stories a lot.

Thanks for the recommendation. Just finished watching season 6 last night - given we probably won't get the remaining seasons for awhile, I may give the books a go, just need to find room in my reading list.

Couldn't get enough of S1-3. S4 on the other hand, was not great. I didn't even finish S5, not sure if I will. Might try the books instead.

Interesting, was it a drop in quality? or story telling choices? Cause as far as I can tell, they kept the same team together (and authors involved).

Brilliant book series and a good TV show.Best syfy I've read in many years. Not too keen on the last season but one is hard pressed to be totally satisfied with a show ending. You really have good insights. .

I’m gonna watch season 6 soon, not perfect by any means but excellent TV. It’s also tough as they’ve had uncertainty of show providers and have to make ‘mini’ endings of arcs feel satisfying enough. Hopefully a Netflix or HBO pick it up and help finish off the series in style.
