As for Elie Saab, If you watched Gossip girl, his dresses were very common for women characters to wear at parties and special occasions - for example Blair's blue wedding dress. I loooove his designs❤

Hey girl, as someone whose bought Chanel bags before, I’m not sure a 100p if this is real. I would highly recommend taking it into a Chanel store and getting it authenticated before using it/ gifting it. Incase it’s not real, it’ll just be a loss.

It's almost definitely a resale and I will say Ikea furniture often has shipping the same price as the product. I once just rented a U-Haul to go to Ikea because the shipping was 50% the cost of the order and a U-Haul was $20

Yes. They do this with Ikea. Ikea doesn't ship everywhere. They triple it. I wanted a Koda kitchen and it's 99 at ikea. Amazon charged 120 to 150.

Am I the only person that’s just not tempted by luxury brands? I LOVE getting a good deal. I like quality products for a fair price… I feel like buying luxury is the same as getting scammed. 😅 Most of my closet is second-hand, thrift stores are like an addiction to me! Idk what my problem is lol. 😂

You're not alone. The thought of paying an insane price just because it's "designer" makes me mad. There is just so much great products out there for affordable prices there isn't a need to buy that stuff. Even if I was loaded I wouldn't waste the money on a purse or clothes or even jewelry for that matter... not those prices anyhow.
I'm totally the same, although I dont thrift because there aren't any in my area, and I don't want to travel to the nearest large city just to shop. I love finding the last of something in a store, though, because it is always a good deal.

Elle Saab has designed some of the most beautiful Oscars dresses. My first memory was the Halle Berry dress. That could have been his first one? Also love their perfume as well. Coming from a small city in New Zealand we don’t have the luxury stores here, so it could be a good option when there’s no stores nearby. But I guess if you can afford the luxe brand you can afford the plane trip to buy it 😂.

@@jbax5521 what I did not know is that it is Elie (E L-eye) not Elle and that the designer is a male. Beautiful designs that usually seem quite traditional and not super funky and unwearable.
What Goes Around is a legit luxury consignment store. :) Glad they partnered with Amazon. And that bag? That Chanel bag is among the most famous vintage Chanel bags because of the large CCs when typically, Chanel uses CC logos smaller than that iteration from the mid-90s. What's even better is that those CCs are made of 24K gold plated hardware, something Chanel stopped doing in the late 2000s. These days, Chanel hardware is gold-toned brass-plated and not 24K gold-plated, anymore.

Amazon has a newer show called “Making the Cut”. It’s basically Project Runway, but Amazon version! I think Amazon is pushing their luxury item section to promote buying from designers via their website. Having more “high end” clothing makes it seem more realistic to continue the show and selling the designer’s items on their site!

That is a vintage chanel bag with real gold hardware on it!!! They haven’t made bags with the real gold hardware since late 2008! What a beautiful bag, the person who receives this is a very very lucky person. What a nice thing to do Hope❤️
I am 36 and a single mom of three kiddos ages 4, 9, & 17. I got my one and only luxury purchasing experience at Nordstrom at the Mall of America after I’d just happen to win $10,000 at a casino I go to once every couple years. I bought Gucci shoes for me, Gucci shoes for my son who was then 15, and a gorgeous sparkly Gucci baseball hat! I ended up getting most the money back for my Gucci shoes on eBay because I was too scared to wear them and get them dirty haha but I love love love my Gucci baseball style hat! My son wears his Gucci shoes to job interviews, wore them to school a few times, and to weddings and stuff like that. It was a wonderful experience and the sales lady and the salesman I had were soooooooooo nice!

I just watched a Tati Westbrook video and she said one of her biggest designer purchase regrets was a white chanel hand bag. It was unnecessarily expensive and because it's white she's never used it anywhere so it literally just keeps getting packed and moved then sits on a shelf🤣.

Hope! Elie Saab, Aquazurra, etc are well known fashion houses! They appear in all the NY, Paris, Milan FW’s and are great quality!
Edit: Jennifer Mayer is also a very well known jeweler. Her father is a Hollywood exec so she got a jump on her career by giving pieces to the stars, and eventually made a name for herself.

Eli Saab is such an amazing designer. Saved some of his wedding dresses for inspiration about 13 years ago and am still in love 😍 also I love some his perfumes. "Girl of now" is my absolute favorite

You don't understand that high end bags hold their value. They do depreciate with signs of wear but they still have high value. Buying pre-loved is a great way to buy your dream bag on a budget.

It’s so hard for me to spend a large amount of money on a bag after seeing the crazy things I’ve seen done with handbags. however if it’s your dream bag and you can afford it go for it! I just don’t think they should be priced so high as used!

Hey Hope, I appreciate your Amazon scam thinking (me too!). However the designers are legit. Studio 189 is sold at Bergdorf’s, Neiman Marcus and Saks. Thinking I would go there instead of Amazon. Feels odd to get a Chanel bag, toilet paper and dog bowls all in the same shipment 😂

I actually find this cool, it’s introducing people to brands they never heard of before. Honestly I think people need to look past Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Cartier etc if they want to purchase luxury goods. There so many artist creating more interesting pieces of clothing. Also I know most of us want the “luxury experience”when we buy luxury goods. But I follow some girls who buy luxury on the regular and I think they would order off Amazon if they couldn’t find it in store anymore.
I totally agree with this!! This could be a way to introduce cool brands from around the world that don’t have tons of store fronts (at least in my country) like the big luxury labels

Being a Caregiver is hard and we don't get paid enough for what we do (I'm a PRN Caregiver). Personally, I think that if we got paid better people would be taken care of without hearing the horror stories 😕 but I can say this, try and do something for you every once in a while cause you deserve it! ❤️

I think it’s more known that certain shops like the ones you listed are safe to shop from…but Amazon is kinda iffy in my opinion and I would be scared to actually purchase a Chanel bag from Amazon vs the actual store online or in person 😂
The Chanel bag was so much bigger than I imagined. It’s beautiful! Of course, it’s way beyond mine and most people’s budget. I can’t remember the last time I bought a new purse.

The point of buying luxury is the fussing. Going into a shop, being offered a drink, great customer service. Definitely not Amazon.

Elie Saab is very famous, at least here in Lebanon. Though I find some of his designs to be basic in my opinion, others are great and elegant. He's a good choice for anyone who wants to play it safe and not wear something "too creative".
The quilted Chanel is one of the only designer bags I pine for…so beautiful and classic

Aquazurra is one of my favourite high end shoe designers. Made in Italy, quality is beautiful. Can’t say enough good things. Just proves there’s more to the luxury world than Gucci and Chanel!

I know Aquazzura, Christopher Kane and Perfect Moment as they are brands that are worn by UK celebrities that I blog about. Holly Willoughby wears Perfect Moment on her ski trips and Aquazurra shoes, and Christopher Kane dresses for special occasions. I know you love gowns Hope, so as Holly is about to begin a new series of Dancing on Ice tomorrow, the dresses are going to be to-die-for!

I have to admit, I’ve never been a big bag or Chanel bag lover (probably because I can’t justify spending that much on myself) but that black one definitely is a beauty.
A lot of those brands were at one time carried at Barneys New York, I was a manager at Barneys and they were know for introducing new designers like Rodarte, opening ceremony, off white and fear of good, perfect moment leggings are a great pair of leggings 👍🏽

Looks like it, Barneys New York opened its doors in 1923 selling only mens suiting, Barneys was iconic to New York City and sadly closed its doors in 2020 as a native New Yorker it made me really sad 😞

This title came just in time to me - As a university student, I purchased some textbooks for medicine, as well as some school books for my siblings. They were VERY pricy. Like some costed 20-40 to even 50. They were hardcovers too and I needed them for my studies so I had to buy them. I also got some other books for my own reading and fun, and some school supplies. My order was supposed to arrive a week ago - On the page it reads that my order is "Lost in transit" or in other words, lost and will probably arrive late, or not arrive at all. I waited 2 more days, then decided to contact customer services.
The first person came into the live chat, asked me what's the problem. I told him about my order, that it hasn't arrived. They said that they had no responsibility over what does and what doesn't arrive, even though Amazon prints and delivers the books themselves. They ended the chat suddenly, I request for someone else - and they repeated the same exact thing, and then said it was my fault for not contacting customer service on the day it didn't arrive. But on their website, it said for me to wait another two days. They ended the chat again. This happed two more times until i decided to just leave it alone. My money is wasted and I didn't recieve anything - and those were some expensive books, I'm a student so I obviously dont have all the money in the world. Like dude that actually hurts - thats a huge loss for me. I dont know what to do :(

I use Abebooks and a couple other used textbook sellers, and I’ve never had a problem! Not to mention getting $200 books for $20. If you need help with getting better book prices feel free to reach out, I’m a nursing student and there’s no way I’d get my books if I was going through Amazon!
Finally, somebody’s bringing this to light. I’ve been watching them on my suggestions for a year after an expensive buy and they think I am luxury.😂😂
