I really love my pathfinder bush pot and canteen set and the folding skillet is just awesome. Thanks for showing us how to bake with this set up.

just a suggestion..my grandmother taught me..if you have a bandanna or rag just dampen it and lay on the bottom of your pan once you flip it over..leave for 5 minurres or so...bread cake etc loosens and drops out...

Yes, and leaving the bread in the pan for a few minutes it STEAMS loose.

All you need is some good sausage gravy to pour over that and you'd have yourself some good eating!

That is the key to cook slow, i mention the same thing in my canteen cup cooking series. Rather cook slow and take alil longer then burn it and ruin your meal. Heck i cooked lasagna in the bush in a canteen cup and it turned out awesome, tho had to slow cook it over a wood fire. Good vid.

Leather gloves would help cooking like this, I think. I use them and have never had a problem. Gloved hands work better than pliers. Lighter too.

Nice job. I have all the same equipment you have as well as the army spoon, knife and fork. All the best.

This reminds me of the cobblers and cornbreads we would make in a dutch oven in Boy Scouts long ago. I would hate to carry a full-on cast iron dutch oven in the woods though... this bush pot method is MUCH easier to tote. lol

Blackie Sir, have you ever baked with wax paper wrapped in aluminum foil? Now, for meat you can cook using only aluminum foil. Right or wrong, I've done it many a time. TY, TU, etc.

You could put a frying pan on top of those coals and cook brekfiss while the bread is doing...

Blackie, your bread will brown better if, about halway through, you removed the lid before putting the top coals back on. Can the lidless pot support the stove with the top coals?

Just viewed this video, even though it's five years old I'd like to comment. My wife uses a special foil when baking some moist batters, those prone to sticking. Non stick surface on one side. What if you lined the inside of the pot before adding the batter, easy out and easy off. and a clean pot like the emersion method you use. Hope you get a notice of the new comment. I'm a new subscriber, love the channel.

Great idea using the stove as a coal holder. What kind of pan did you use to cook the bread in? I've been looking for one to go in my bush pot.

Great video! You might have wanted to save the bacon grease so you could have greased that pan. Also you didn't mention the ingredients for the bread.
