- Dark Age of Camelot has a fresh start private server called Eden on it's way with that Classic Dark Age of Camelot MMORPG gameplay you crave! Get ready for DAoC action with this fresh new server hitting on December 10th 2022 .. I'm here ot share all the info for the upcoming Server so you can be prepared and also to help with downloading the client to play Dark Age of Camelot on the Eden Server! Get ready for MMO PvP RvR at it's finest in this Classic MMO Dark Age of Camelot!
Dark Age of Camelot has a fresh start new server launching on December 10th 2022 and today we will be discussing what the Eden Server is, how to get it, and all the information we know about this Dark Age of Camelot server to prepare you for the launch of this classic MMORPG fresh private server. Before we get started, please smash that like button for me and subscribe to the channel if you love MMORPGs and Dark Age of Camelot. And stick with me to the end because we got a lot of brand new updates to talk about as well. Now let's talk.
Dark Age of Camelot is a beloved old school classic MMORPG, and I absolutely adore this game, I will be jumping in and playing on the Eden Server, by the polls so far me and my community are going to be going Midgard. If you would like to vote for which realm we go, head to my channel and go to the community tab to vote, also a link in the description. Which ever realm wins, we will set up the guild for. There is also a link to my discord in the description so you can join our adventures!
The Dark Age of Camelot Eden Server download links are also in the description. Be sure you follow the directions. It is very simple, download the client with the link I give in the description and then Install and run the game once using the Camelot.exe or the shortcut on your desktop to patch. And a big warning : Do not play with a client you already used on another freeshared or it will cause crashes and issues. Just redownload from here to make sure you are good to go.
Now, let's talk about what the Eden Server is and what we have to look forward to on December 10th 2022. So, Dark Age of Camelot Eden Server has been Alpha and Beta testing for awhile now, you may have caught some of my streams while I was playing it and having a blast. It is a very high quality server that from my experience ran as good if not better than official servers. Now, I ALWAYS recommend when playing on a private server, go get a real subscription from official just to be fair, I believe the developers of the offical game deserve their funding if we are enjoying their product. And when OFFICIAL releases their Classic Server, I will be jumping over to it. Now, Eden is of course a private Dark Age of Camelot Server that has the goal to offer an experience similiar but not quite exactly like the Bossiney / Galastonbury servers. This server is going to be a BLAST i played since day 1 of alpha and I've never had so much fun in a while, i recommend everyone who is feeling nostalgic to give it a try cause it's really worth. The job they have done on this server is just superb!!

This might just get me back to daoc, spent the better part of 13 years playing and I must say ToA and labyrinth where game killers and it’s exciting to see those get tossed for this.
Started on Albion (Nimue Server) and played all Realms. The RVR PVP is key feature that kept me hooked for 10 plus years. Yea, the graphics are a bit old but you dont need a 5k gaming rig for this game. A plus in my book. RVR battles can be hughe in scope and your PC system wont crash. All you need is a decent PC setup and a decent ISP for FULL MAX ENJOYMENT. DAOC has never been topped when it comes to PVP RVR ... EVER. So glad the game survives and thrives. The BEST PVP MMO ... EVER.

Server has been a blast so far. Very stable. Tons of people. Good combats. The download and install also went extremely smooth. All in all I am very impressed with Eden.

There will be plenty of noobs no worries many people are coming back after 10 or more years break which basicly makes you a noob lol also I've seen many people in beta that tried this as their first daoc experience and they enjoyed it

Long time vet and I've seen a considerable amount of new players in the advice chats and starter guilds. Eden is a blast and could be one of, if not the best free shard DAoC to date. They did a great job from what I've seen.

Debating making a comeback to DAoC after taking a hiatus since being somewhat active on Uthgard 2, but mostly on Genesis freeshard (Kazyo). Feedback on Eden seems to be positive. One issue I've experienced was server population. How is it during NA times?

Good to see my have to jump back in. After the disaster of TOA the game completely died for me and the guild ZION.
My co-worker used to play this, before this it was Shadowbane and he thought i was a pleb for playing EQOA lol. Sad how people didn't know how badass EQOA was but that's changing slowly now. It was likely equal parts PC master race and PvP elitist mode lol.
I'm not a fan of PvP but any classic MMORPG geting love is good in my book.
This is the only time I think pvp was done correctly. DAoC is an anomaly that was never reproduced
Freeshard servers come and go.. So will this one. Enjoy it while it last.

If you're going to play get playing asap. The main thing you're going to have to learn first is the other classes you're fighting how to tell what class it is by their abilities,pets, armor and weapon types and how to counter their abilities mechanics.
I would say hop in, it’s going to feel like the old days with so many people playing, opportunities like this don’t come often
@@TheNathanNAPALM the old servers capped at 2000 people... On Eden I've already seen over 3500 on at peak times. Super impressive.
My bet is this will be done better than classic. I didn't play the beta but I played live for a decade 01-11 approximately) and I also played Phoenix and Atlas free shards. I'd say this experience dwarfs what I experienced in the others as a whole.
It's also better than the other MMOs I've played (Warhammer Online, Rift, ESO, and some other one I can't remember the name to haha).

I'd love to get in on this fun, but I remember playing Phoenix and being really confused on how to start... I'd hate to jump in and get really far behind ... I remember hearing the early levels are even worse on DAoC than EQ

@@TheNathanNAPALM probably going to hib if I had to guess mid is a wasteland and chit to navigate for me at least. True grit is Midgard. I just want buffs and killer heals and mid doesn't have that on one character

I'm missing the point of this. If you want people to pay for a subscription, why would they not just play on an official server?
last shard i was playing on was atlas and unfortunately that shard died too soon, but at least it became open source.

what would you say this game has that no other mmos have? What sets it apart?
3 realms with their own races & classes, their own world, lore and story, while leveling in a classic old school mmo environment, it naturally creates a love for your realm and a hatred for the other 2. Once you get to max you can go out and fight the other 2 to bring boons for everyone in your realm. Not to mention the battles are like something from an epic fantasy novel in scope and deed. Nobody has ever done it like DAoC

end game pvp is unrivaled, you can play as a casual or as a sweaty try hard. DAoC has room for both playstyles. No other game, and i've played pretty much all of them, has come close to the fun you can have in DAoC.
its slow and janky. No other MMo has this lol.

daoc had great storys ,questing and world to explore .. sadly its focused 100% around just pvp and pvp vendors,dont get me wrong i love pvp but next to nobody did questing raids and there was zero balance between the 2 ..

seems no different then the other 100 DAOC private servers. What they really need to do is update the engine. I alwaysx thought this game was a clunky, janky mess. Movement sucks. Feels like a turtle. Seriously, needs to be redone with unity. Game is so blocky it looks like Tetris. I downloaded it and tried it but just couldnt really get into it. Its just so .,.....clunky
For DAoC fans, all we need is people to play with, and the population is here so it’s good times for us
