Hey Nick the next time you are crawl underneath the tractor please could you put on a pair of safety glasses or safety goggles I know about your arm we don't want your eyes to go thank you for the fantastic videos but please safety first thank you 🚜
Especially with a wire wheel! Those wires break off all the time. I had to have one removed in an ER from my bicep that I couldn’t pull out. I can only imagine what one would do to an eye!
@@Manoffire260 Agreed! I have pulled a lot out of my skin that have been sunk in really far. Amazingly, I did not feel them go in, just noticed the when my hand brushed against them.
Have you fellows ever been discouraged? It seems you tackle everything with a smile and extreme enthusiasm and anticipation of a positive outcome. Pretty amazing.
Hi, first of all, sorry for my english i hope you understand what I'm saying and cheers from Croatia! :) Best way to remove sticker is sticker remover spray and then pressure washing, (you can scrape it but it will leave marks) it is slow and painfull process but the only way to really clean it without any marks on the paint. :)
I removed 3M tape and any kind of sticky tape that way on steel and plastic and i tried many chemichals and stuff but that spray and pressure washing (hot watter works better than cold) is the best if you want surface to be as new. Spray it try to scrape it maybe with some plastic tools and then wash and then repeat. God bless you, hope i could help you. By :) :) :)
Clear as mud Nick, clear as mud. Those new/old seats are nice, so it's not what you know, but who you know, to get them. Good to see Dad, getting up in the world, to the top.
Honestly, your best option for pinstripes might very well be just painting them on. It'll be pricier than using the stick on stuff, but it will hold up for as long as the paint does.
Or learn to stripe yourself and then never have to pay again. It's important to get good brushes and learn a stable and braced hold that you can be consistent with, and remember only you will know about the mistakes.
Hand painted isn't difficult, it's all about the Touch and proper paint thinning, and a nice feather brush. Hire a car painter and pick his brains, and film it all for future reference. . Small jobs you can DIY , Goofs wipe off with thinner.
Get ahold of pudge in Harlan, Ia he does all pin striping by hand and will fly out to you.. great prices and great work all by hand he does semis race cars, tractors, combines, etc etc I think 40 years of pin striping. Keep up the good work guys love the content!!
I think Legarms could weld 2 streams of water together and make a hefty PTO shaft out of a roll of toilet papers 😆. In fact, all three of you are awesome in your talents! Thanks for sharing it all.

you guys should really make a waste oil heater for the shop. Im not sure fabrication would be the issue, maybe a low supply of waste oil...? haha. It would keep the shop really comfortable on those chilly days Love the videos, and all the work being done! Well done boys!
To help get the sticky residue off from the pinstriping, you can get basically a rubber eraser that goes in a drill to erase the gunk. They work great. Check with an auto body supply shop. They could probably help you find good striping as well.
This, but that is last resort because you need to hit everything with the wheel and you have lots of striping. Would try sticker removers or glue solvents first. But you have to be careful with the paint yes. Last tip for the wheel, don't stay to long in one spot. Heat is the enemy.
Goo b gone. Gets rid of decal and tape residue almost instantly. Available at canadian tire in canada not sure where it is,Available in the USA. Comes is a spray bottle.
Heyyy, there they are again, the Buds! Wow, wow wow, Man they are unique. Sad they stand a lot of time useless in the barn. No earth to move in wintertime? Hmm, now we see Robert make the stuff shiny as new. I wish i could help you. Give you a hand. But i only have two myself. Succes with the rest of the 3000 square feet. All by yourself? Well, you don"t need to go to the gym after that. Save yourself from injuries in the arm muscles. One is enough. Soon wil be seeding time. then you need all muscles. Blessings!
Yep I cleaned all the ceilings and walls in my 40 x 48 shop when I got married and we had the reception there and it was the best day of my life along with all the days of the 32 years of my marriage
For as many hours as a farmer spends in the tractor seat, he deserves the most comfortable. Not as a matter of convenience, but because fatigue makes mistakes and kills bodies.
pin striping? paint brush and practise. do it the old school way and it will never crack and fall off. it'll be minimal supplies and your time. cheaper too as you'll only do it once until next repaint
I love the videos. But I have two things from this one. First, please, please, wear your safety glasses when using a grinder or wire brush. I often use a powered wire brush and just as often go home with wire bristles that have come out of the brush while in use stuck in my shirt and pants. And secondly, if you don't have a use for that fourth seat and don't want it sitting around getting dirty. I could put it to good use. Blessing.
Instead of using pin stripping material, just paint it on. The big bud is waiting on parts that would be a great time to do that. Leg Arms is such a great fabricator I wish I had half of his fabrication ability.
I think Dad should become a professional ceiling cleaner 🤪🤪🤪 I so enjoy your family and all the way you all enjoy working together as a loving God Loving Family. Thank You for letting us share with us.

Thanks for another great video Welkers. It was interesting and enjoyable for sure. Bob, good job on the puns again. You being a “fan” of cleaning the ceiling, good one. And then doing a “simple” way of cleaning the ceilings, believe you referred to using simple green cleaner, I think. You might of had a third one but can’t remember it. Tough to get old. Always enjoy the puns Bob. Nick you asked about pin striping on the big bud. 3m makes some real good striping and a good cleaner to get the old adhesive off before applying the new. A body shop that stripes might have a good suggestion also. Wow, working on those steering pumps has turned out to be not so easy. But seems you all have it in hand now. Can understand that many years of use wears things out. Leg arms has the engineering part of it figured out. Your abilities to make the part or reengineering them continues to amaze me. Good job all of you. I sincerely hope you have a great year with your crops after last year. Trust you will get some moisture this year for the crops. Spring seeding just around the corner. About it for now. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Red is always a pita for fading and cracking. It's the weakest color for UV resistance. As for removing the adhesive and old stripes, that's super easy. They make a decal/adhesive removing tool that strips that stuff right off super quickly but doesn't hurt the paint. You can find them at automotive paint and body supply places. Thank you all for everything you do for us. I'm saddened knowing y'all are going from a bad year into a year where fertilizer is in some instances +300% and on top of that diesel is over $5 a gallon. I'm praying for all of you farmers who put everything on the line so we have food every day.

Other than painting the stripes on try 3M, it will probably cost more but always seemed to last. Most auto stores should be able to get like a NAPA or what is in your area. It was the only pin striping used in the body shop I worked in years ago, except for pinstripe kits from manufactures but they often were 3M. One of my vehicles has painted on design that is on there for ever, it is even clear coated over it. Hope your shoulder heals up fast and well. I had the "Brett Favre" surgery on my shoulder a few years ago, it is better now. Stay safe and healthy, I am a fan of Bob.
My sister used to do street signage back in the late 1980's. Their shop used 3M striping tape on the signs, I believe. 3M also makes on adhesive remover that I used several times at my regular job when we had to change logo decals on our trucks that worked very good. Stay warm and pray for moisture!
@@WelkerFarms 3m is pretty much the go-to brand for quality lol And the fact the old adhesive is still firmly attached to the paint shows that you did nothing wrong with the installation, it's just poor quality pin striping. If it was surface contamination or too cold or wet or whatever when you applied it, the adhesive would be failing off the paint rather than the film failing and coming off its own adhesive.
it might be easier next time you put those bushings in by putting them in the freezer overnight. and the opposite for bearings. Put the bearing on a wood stove or in the oven and get them really hot. Scott you are amazing! Your engineering abilities outshine many schooled engineers. And look at you lifting that seat, your bad are must be almost back to normal. God bless and be safe.
For the pin striping you can use a caramel wheel on a drill and it will rip that residue off super quick and not damage the paint at all. What you can do at the same time is tape off the pinstripe that your removing, use the caramel wheel to take off the residue and the remaining tape, wipe it down with acetone and then use a red enamel paint and paint it. It will be a lot tougher than the pinstripe tape and won't fade as quickly or as much. Plus you wont damage it when you use any chemicals to clean the unit down :) Love the content, have for years, the fabrication work you guys get up to is epic. Keep it going.
Bob - the walls and ceiling look amazing - keep up the amazing work. It will be worth it in the long run. Nick & Scott - that old iron is the best way to go. Keep up the TLC, the next generation of Welker's will be running them. God Bless!
Take the tape off and use paint. Tedious but done right will take UV so much better than tape that expands and shrinks in MT weather extremes. Here’s to Mooooiiiissstttttuuuurrrreee!
Bob, you are doing a great job on the cleaning. It is faithless work but when it's done it will look great and be a lot brighter in there. Keep up the good work
Don't know what it is about the Big Buds they just are just such an awesome looking tractors. If I was farming I would sooner have one of those than any of the new ones. They get the job done and the best part is you can work on them yourself. You guys do a great job of taking care of them.

Nothing says spring time like the Big Buds rolling out of the shed.
Maybe get a gable fan to vent the engine exhaust out to keep the ceiling from sooting up again.
For the red stripe just ask to a signage/wrapping shop to cut some stripes from 3m or Avery vinyl wrap. Should last at least 10 years

Scott you are amazing! Your engineering abilities outshine many schooled engineers. And look at you lifting that seat, your bad are must be almost back to normal. God bless and be safe.
You cannot beat 3M pin stripes ! Auto-Trim of Prescott, AZ. is awesome !, and nice family to work with ! Very Professional !
BIG BUDs are awesome
Those BUDs are the coolest machines!
Man get those things in the shop, makes that shop look pretty small. Big as they are they take up a lot of room!
Bob - the walls and ceiling look amazing - keep up the amazing work. It will be worth it in the long run.
Nick & Scott - that old iron is the best way to go. Keep up the TLC, the next generation of Welker's will be running them.
God Bless!
Welker’s have the best Dad on TH-cam
True story!
So wondeful to see those big bois fired up again! And Big Buds too ;)
Take the tape off and use paint.
Boy those weird faces you were making in that time lapse looked really familiar to some I've made working on tractors 🚜
Nice looking seats
You guys really know how to give your viewers the shaft! (And the splines, and gears, and bolts, and ........) 😊 Always a pleasure watching you work. Stay safe and God bless.
Good video guys its great to see you guys looking after the Big Buds and putting in some new red chairs. God Bless
Bob is doing a great job cleaning and it looks awesome. Scott is a great fabricator. Nick where were your safety glass's. Good to see the Big Buds out.
