I wish we got to see more of them but yea they were badass, you get that feeling normally they can handle most situations but this time they were un prepared and completely out of their depth.
One thing I always found funny was how they were armed. Everybody got a Samurai Edge, with Jill, Chris, Barry, and Wesker actually modifying theirs slightly, then Richard Aiken and Joseph Frost each had shotguns, Barry had his custom Magnum, and then there was Forrest Speyer, rocking a whole-ass rotary grenade launcher loaded with explosive, incendiary, and chemical weapons rounds. No way any of that was legal (Police grenade launchers are only supposed to fire 37mm grenades, of which only smoke and tear gas grenades are made.
It never even occurred to me till you mentioned it but yea giving someone a powerful weapon like that where he could cause all sorts of damage to structures or people definitely wasn't legal.
@@SystemCheck66 s.t.a.r.s. was always meant to be guinea pigs for collecting combat data on umbrella's b.o.w.s them being an experimental unit within the police was meant to be a cover and I'm pretty sure the grenades (and other sorts of ammunition) you could find in the mansion weren't there by chance
Parasite Eve was another survival horror game of the era has a prolog where you wonder the police station talking to people and other cops. Resident Evil really needed this. The game acts like the characters have worked with Alpha and Bravo team for years yet they tend to have no lines or less than three. You instantly forget their names and don't even recognize them when you find them. This game needed a 30 minute pro-log in the STARS office where you got to talk and "hang out" like the Marines in Aliens when they ate together. It would have been more impactful when they died or were found dead.
The SD Perry Novel does just that, it has a prologue before the Mansion incident, I've always wanted to see more of Alpha and Bravo tbh, get to know how they operated as a full team etc.
Ok are you ready for a long one...The STARS were created in 1996 to combat the rising threat of terrorism and a rise in violent crime, it was a move made by Mayor Michal Warren called "Bright Racoon 21" which was a redevelopment program for Racoon, guess who funded most of the program ?...Umbrella, and who did they stick in as Captain of the team, Albert Wesker a spy for them, hopefully that awnsered your question brother 👍
Hmm well some theories say it was Wesker who pushed them to create STARS, hence the "STARS were Umbrella...no my little piggys" line in remake, Umbrella only funded them along with Warren, having a military force in Racoon would have stopped any opposing forces trying to steal Umbrellas B.O.W's or research, played off as an act of Terrorism, In the original series, PS one trilogy the goverment wearnt involved to the extent they are in the newer timeline, RE6 or RE2 remake, or if they were it wasn't shown directly, this is all from my memory so I could be wrong about some things...but overall Umbrella had money and thought having a Military Force in Racoon might come in handy at some point, which they did when the Mansion Incident occured, they were test subjects for the B.O.W's and T Virus.

would be great if we could get a S.T.A.R.S serial CSI like crime-drama that would eventually lead to the Arklay incident and the Raccoon outbreak. There we could see how they actually function day-to-day. Probably throw in some rivalry between Chris and Wesker, put some soft hint of Romance between Chris and Jill or Rebecca towards Wesker. Makes him more of a charismatic leader before he reveal his true self. humanize them more. Oh and also Barry, Kenneth, Brad, literally everyone.
That would be cool, they could even do an anime like that with missions they went on, the novel showed us some of that before they head to the Mansion which was cool, Chris and team interacting with eachother etc, if you haven't read it yet Umbrella Conspiricy by SD Perry is a good novelistsation of the 1st game.

Great video great information. I have been playing Resident Evil since 1996 on PS1. Then 2,3 and 4 on PS2. I plaid 5 and 6 on my X box 1 and killed them and unlocked everything. I hated Anderson and his crap. 1 and 2 were good but that's it.
Same here Douglas 1997 was my exposure to Resi, absolutely blew me away, Resi 5 had one of the coolest weapons in the series for me with the Hydra Shotgun, that gun is OP and I love it, the 1st Resi movie was good for a low budget acrion/horror film but yea I agree the rest were crap.
Brad Vickers by far is my favorite STARS member death. Wesker is second but I hear they turning him Black in the Netflix adaptation for some damn reason. 🤦🏿♂️. I'm Black & do not approve. I love Emelia Clark's work on Game of Thrones but I don't want her playing Sheva or Ada smh.
It's like the casting of Avan Jogia who's white/Indian as Leon in the upcoming reeboot, just baffles me as to why, like you said it goes both ways no way I want to see Emilia Clark portraying either Ada or Sheva, Brad's death is in my top 3 100% was a shock when I first saw it haha.

I one hundred percent am doing a what happened to the sons of sparda. so Neros story and how he gets his DT has to be in there, but might be after DMC 5 releases 😉 or I might jusy make one anyways 👊 and thank you man, i love when nero gets his DT from yammato, its an epic moment and the music is sick.
man i will say, as much as i like Billy, it is such a waste that the devs decided to create a entire new character completely unrelated to the main plot to be Rebecca's partner in zero, rather than simply giving that role to any of the Bravo team members, making aleast one of them feel more as a character and making their death more impactful and feel like a bigger lost
That's true actually they could have had Richard team up with her or Enrico that would have been interesting too see, we'd get more of their personality shine through and more backstory, Billy is a cool character I like him but much like the other side characters in the series they've done nothing with him past zero even an Easter egg or mention hasn't happened.
He's an RPD officer so seperate from the STARS team, in RE2 it's his first day on the job, Claire is a uni student with her connection to the STARS being her brother Chris.
