INFP & INFJ: Questions We’ve Never Asked Each Other Before

  • I absolutely adore this video almost as much as I adore Paris (INFP). Paris and I thought of questions we’d never asked each other before to explore new understandings of our friendship dynamic with complete honesty. While this video is a long one, the ending is the sweetest, so it’s definitely worth sticking around for!
    Be sure to subscribe and click the notification bell to keep up with my future videos because this lil introvert goes into hiding for extended periods of time ehe.

    7:09 INFJ: *explains something profound*
    INFP: *approvingly* "Hm! :)"
    INFJ: *approvingly of the INFPs approval* "Hmm! :)"
    I had to laugh. That back and forth is those types' dynamic in a nutshell.

    As an infj i have always trusted my judgements of people but when im with my infp friend we always end up discussing people and why they do the things they do and then i really notice the difference between Ni-Fe and Fi-Ne it's like we complete eachother to attend a greater understanding and the most important thing it does make me realise how Ni can be so blind sometimes to obvious other possibilities so it's so refreshing to have those kind of conversations and learn from eachother !!!

      I agree with you i had two infj friend and yes our analyse complete Ni is such a great function too cause sometimes Ne go with everything so we have strugle to see the real truth behind people i think Ni is more efficient and dirrect than Ne and Ne can imagine many different scenario that's how we can complete.

      I'm INFJ and sometimes I just feel like we can see many paths but we voluntarly or instinctively choose to follow the one that feels the best for us to dig into it because it makes us more confortable to reduce the possibilities in order to reach some kind of truth we persue at the end of it.

    I am amazed at how similar I used to look to Gianna in facial expressions and facial structure despite being of different ethnicity. And I think I am INFJ which is why it makes it so interesting.
    The only person I felt was like me growing up was Lisa Simpson. It was great because finally I felt a sense of belonging when The Simpsons came along even though she was fictional. I bought a Lisa Simpson watch with red leather wristband in my late teens or early twenties because I identified with her so much.
    So I finally Googled her MBTI type after all these years and discovered she is INFJ!!!
    I also just remembered today that I quit a job because I didn't believe it was ethical. I've heard that this is a very INFJ thing to do.
    I don't think people appreciate my Ti child. 😢. It's not fun seeing mistakes and my mind wanting to correct them but not wanting to create antagonism. People have assumed I'm INTP just because I say "I don't care" but what I mean is I don't care to cause a problem as arguing is futile or I've given up trying for now because I'm too upset and know it is futile. I'm pretty sure I don't have Fi or Te and don't think I am ENFJ either. I only look to the past under stress.
    It's still a novelty and revelation to me to remember the past.
    I think I don't trust my Ni much as no-one ever appreciated its insights even though I predicted things that came true.
    I only realised fairly recently that am always thinking of other people. I don't want to be thought of as a people pleaser but I wished I felt like I fitted in.
    I'm not stupid but I don't feel the need to prove I'm not because people will think what they want to anyway about me. I don't want to try to look good for others because people will think I'm ugly anyway and then it will break my heart.
    I find INFPs settling so I'm going to look for more friends like that. And ENFPs.
    I'm not sure what my husband is. Maybe ESTP which would be my opposite. I used to think perhaps ENTJ/ESTJ but he hates academia and books so not ENTJ I think. He has brilliant reflexes and was second in the country in his age group in table tennis. And they stuck him in with kids a year older than him. He has an iron will and determination. He always says what he thinks and has no patience and tries to tell everyone else what to do all the time but I think he's great.
    I don't get to see him enough because of Covid-19. It sucks. Badly.
    Whatever type he is, there need to be more people like him in this world imho. I'm very curious as to what he is. But I'm still trying to confirm and keep testing my type so I can improve myself. But I do think I've finally found it.

    4:18 inferior sensing (memory) is the lowest on the INFJ cognitive stack. We are definitely more focused on the future and predicting the future than recalling the past. One caveat is past experiences that are attached to strong emotions. These are quite salient in our memories.

    • @edixasanchezpacheco3692
      @edixasanchezpacheco3692 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      But an INFJ will record the feeling felt with that interaction and count how many times it has happened and if we are willing to continue to dismiss that behavior from people at our own detriment. We record the pattern and energy of the person.

    Hey Gia, thank you for this and all your other videos. They make me feel very understood and not alone.
    May you kindly do a video about;
    1. The INFJ Door Slam
    2. Dealing with your own emotions (I'm an INFJ and I seriously struggle to fully understand my own emotions whereas I can almost always describe other people's emotions better than they can. I am also extremely ashamed of my own emotions and terrified of vulnerability. Is this an INFJ thing (?), especially the latter part.)

      From CS josephs model (which I subscribe to) INFJ have Fi critic so it makes sense if you are judgemental towards your own feelings and/or self worth.
      Just like I as as an INTJ is good at knowing what other people think but really critical towards my own thinking and if I really am smart, which makes me think harder to make sure I'm not wrong about stuff.
      (Don't wanna be wrong)

    I am not trying to be mean or something. I just learn about cognirive functions, and how your eye ball love around looks like you have an ( Ne cognitive function instead of Ni ). Which means, you are not an INFJ. Just putting it out there.

    • @GiannaDianthee
      @GiannaDianthee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Hi Eliza, I think it’s limiting to conclusively dismiss the presence of functions upon eye movements. It may help to make inferences but it isn’t definitive and universal. Someone may be operating from a different function in different moments, especially when leaning into extroverted functions. I think associating eye toggling with functions is another way of trying to be restrictive and placing people into clear cut boxes. There isn’t only 16 ways of being, or in this case 2 ways when comparing Ne and Ni. I think it’s important to remain curious and open to variance within the types and functions, otherwise I think mbti loses its validity.

    • @lsour8546
      @lsour8546 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's funny reading both of these comments because I found that Gianna did a lot of quick left-right Ni eye movements. I agree though, eye toggling doesn't seem to be a be-all-end-all for typing
