Can anybody tell me why this man is not a knight of the theatre?Consummate performer, generous teacher, thoughtful historian, omg the complete package. I could be here all day......enjoying, relishing, arguing, humbled in his on line presence. Wish I could have been there. Thank you Sir, gold indeed! BH
Six years after the posting and I too was, holding my breath for that last bit! Would loved to have been in that audience ... When a man who normally speaks in the higher, gentler parts of his voice drops down low and uses fuller power ... it is absolutely breathtaking! Heartstopping!
Being in America, I've never seen Edward Petherbridge until this very day. Why have I not seen him among the other greats? He puts Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole to shame, and I love them.
Sir, i have to point out that the magnificent machine you have there is an Expert Minor of C 1932 it produces an excellent sound but sadly will not record. I have just uploaded the G & T recordings from 1906 of Herbert Beerbohm - Tree which , i'm sure you will appreciate. his Svengali is "mesmerising" . He's a GREAT actor - as are you if i may say so.

Mr. Petherbridge needs a title in order to affirm his brilliance the same way Johann Sebastian Bach needs a Grammy award. ☺
not only id Edward P a great actor, but a great plate spinner as well
If we're judging the great actors of today, I know who to nominate. Thank you, Mr. P, for another memorable snippet.

Thankyou for your appreciative words. Edward P.
Thank you! I held my breath through the last two minutes. How I'd love to see a revival seriously in the style.
Very Kind of you. My Best Edward P.
Edward Petherbridge; Your performance is magnificent here. I also loved you as Lord Peter Wimsey. Your Lord Wimsey is handsome and debonair.
Wonderful! Thank you for posting this clip. I wish I could see the entire performance---quite fascinating (in all senses).
Would so love to see this in full - you're quite amazing.
Fascinating, delightful, handsome, thank you.
