chainbUG I was looking for Twitch chat before realizing I had clicked on the YT video. This song is a certified slammer/banger/slapper. This whole album is just straight awesomeness.
"What's between the hammer and the anvil?" Well if you glance over at the rest of the lyrics, they're tightly wrapped around religious themes and to me the imagery they primarily intend to evoke is of some righteous conquest about to take place. My read on the reason this title was chosen to be placed against such a backdrop is that those carrying it out see this impending event as a guaranteed victory, as well as something that will build greater strength within them. Pretty interesting, given the themes present within the following track and the fact that they're connected via a fading outro/intro... Thus, I think the most apt way to summarize the intended metaphor is that the protagonist(s) of the song are being forged, and see their enemies as the sparks/chaff that will inevitably be purged in the process. I'm sure there are further layers one could add to this concept and/or other ways to interpret the song, but I've already spent too much time writing this so I'll leave it at that.
Depressing fact: they have never played this song live, nor One Shot at Glory, which is honestly mindboggling. Two of the best songs on the album, easy.
They played it live at the last show of the 50 Heavy Metal years tour in Houston, they even played ‘Jawbreaker’ on that show as well. I was there for that and it was fantastic.

When I learned how to scream, this song was my favorite to sing, especially the last verse.

Really? I didn't know that. That's insane!
They have played this song before Live..There are videos of them playing this in 2008 and 1990..
They never played Living bad dreams live, which is a shame
@@manulogiudice Its a B side song (LBD), but it would be huge tbh

So good, easily their best complete album!
That said, consider giving Hellrider a whack. Solos are ridiculous
