  • Phumi Pheas Tbong - Join me on a journey to a lesser-known gem. Nestled amidst emerald rice fields and reached after one of the most picturesque drives, this temple might not boast grandeur but holds tales that are nothing short of epic. In this video, we delve deep into engineering marvel of a vast man-made reservoir that once quenched the thirst of a bustling civilisation. This reservoir's sheer size speaks volumes about the once heavily populated area that now seems to have faded into obscurity.
    The temple, though worn and weathered, stands as a testament to the intricate craftsmanship and dedication of artisans from a bygone era. From deep stone carvings to remnants of majestic statues, every fragment tells a story.

      Thank you so much. Yes, it really was a beautiful setting, not an impressive temple maybe but the journey and the scenery is really what it is all about. Life is so jolly calming on adventures like this one.

    It seems you’re getting around with more ease these days. Good to see that.
    Ah, that dusty village road. I really miss those places. That, and the cows marching down the road reminds me of the village my wife is from. Those people and that life style are as much of a treasure to me as the temple. Actually, more so.

      These videos are in fact from a year ago, because it is now rainy season. It has rained so much this season. I haven’t been able to film many at all, for about six months. I’m going a bit cabin crazy, I just long for the Sun and the road now.

      Thank you for your kind comment. It was a good find this one, it took a while, as was hidden behind a modern temple, and then, of course I had to go across the bridge. I do not think I mention in the video. It was also covered with vicious ants. But you’re still a lovely day out.

      @@TheMrB it was a great find. I look forward to seeing your next one. You give me inspiration on what to see when I visit Cambodia.
      Are you planning on doing any of the Khmer temples in Thailand? There are lots of them in the Issan region. I’ve visited many but not all of them.

      Absolutely true. The journey to this one was long. But it was all worth it just to find this little old man that was forgotten. He was hiding behind a modern temple and took a while to locate. But I love my little films because it means I will never forget each and every temple.

    Very interesting and love the mix of old and new plus a bit of the journey along the road. What were the statues I could glimpse behind where you were filming before you got to the false door? Were they the ones you showed us at the beginning?🥰😘

    • @TheMrB
      @TheMrB  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes they were. Many ancient temples can be found close to
      modern ones. Hope life is going well ❤️
