I've been to Angkor 4 times now.
What strikes me the most is how 900 years ago with the tools they (supposedly) had, they could carve such amazing reliefs and carvings with such precision.
I thought the same when I visited Luxor Temple and Egypt in general and then when I visited the Dilwara Cave Temples in India it really made up my mind that there can only be 2 possibilities.
Either we have been lied to about the technological abilities of our ancestors and ancient technology was far more advanced and then suppressed..................
OR (and I hate to say this) there was other world help.

Konarka Temple where you will find the Sun dial which shows the exact time of the day, like that 23 more wheels are there, scientists and historians still can not decode the rest. Konarka Temple is built with full of encyclopedia, Science and astronomy.
Kailasha Temple of Ellora is even out of imagination, nobody can think of how it was built.

And we are taught Darwinian Theory that man evolved from a monkey(which is just a theory with lots of missing links and it's not proved at all). I would say we are indoctrinated with this Dogma. There are a lot of proofs from pre-abrahamic ancient civilizations around the world that ancient people weren't any primitive people.

It was more like a popularity contest than an actual objective contest. I love Chichen Itza, but as an amateur enthusiast of the maya civilization, Tikal is by far a more impressive site than Chichen Itza, even Tonina or Caracol (Belize) were more impressive mayan cities, but since they are not next to a tourist city like Cancun or are remote, they are not well known, a shame really.

In the Angkorian era, our ancestors abandoned the temples of Angkor Wat without fighting due to the floods and to escape the armies of the Portuguese Empire. He moved to present-day Phnom Penh, leaving only a small army to protect the heavily forested temple of Angkor Wat, leaving a legacy for future generations of Cambodians to know about their great past.

There was a big debate about this among most international scholars if Angkor was part of the greater India because of the mortal remains in almost every ancient khmer temples. This is called ancestor worship which is still very common practice in Southeast and East Asia. Angkor Wat is like a stupa/temple, all the kings and his family would go to those temples to worship their ancestors as God. This is the main different between India and Southeast Asia hinduism.

Third Khmer is the native people they exist in this land
Fourth Khmer empire is just the chang of name. Even though they called themselves Khmer the whole time. It became a country as Funan and then Chenla and change to Khmer Empire because of the change of rulers (and the name continue to change until nowadays). They believe that theirs ruler queen Neang Neak or soma (believe as the daughter of the naga king) and theirs ancestors are naga that's why there are naga status everywhere around the country till nowadays.
More over they used to called themselves Khmer or Kampujeades (what is developed to today Kampujea and how the hell idk english call them cambodia) still the country is called Kampujea but the region and language is called Khmer. .

Quiet evident How glorious and stretched was Santan Dharma i.e. Indic Faith or Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism was from Afghanistan to Indonesia and upper Australia covering all of south east asia and islands surrounding it and even in japan 80% of their deities are hindu dieties). I cann't say less about how buddhism and hinduism spread hand in hand all across south and central asia.

Good job done to the team in the quest of finding the lost city of Angkor Watt.
We r only seeing the temple. What abt the king's palace. Did he bumped into the tip of the palace coz it is close to the ground. Could b second tallest to the temple. If we do abit of digging in that area possibility there could b something underneath.
May b this temple was built on top of a huge mountain & the rest settlement was at the base nearby.
If we find the palace 1st then we can follow the trail to nxt discovery.
What I feel is that we are all stuck with what we r seeing & forgot to see the surrounding area burried underneath & its civilisation.

Ancient Buddhists and Jains built stupa mounds which contained the relics/remains of Shakyamuni Buddha as well as Jain teachers, so in a sense they were like tombs. So...what you see here is a repurposed site much like Giza or Solomon's Temple. I do believe there was a wealthy king as depicted. He etched and carved his history onto whatever this place was and called it his own. Does anyone find it interesting that whomever built all of these sites had no need for statues or writing? If you have to project such a strong narrative thennn you're really not divine or godly. The beings that built Angkor, also built the Great Pyramid ( only the one ) and the Nazca lines (not geoglyphs ). The precision seems the same.
