    John Walker is like a slightly unhinged overeager puppy, you’re kinda happy that he’s in a good place, but you’re also a little concerned about him because he can still be easily led into the wrong direction. There may come a point in Walker's story where he has to do decide to be his own man instead of having other people decide who he is.

    Was waiting for yall's reaction. I don't know if yall noticed, but Sam basically set out to accomplish everything he said he do throughout the series. He got Sharon her pardon, he got Isaiah recognized and though he didn't save Karli, he did not fight her to show himself as a non-combatant.

    • @Coxman
      @Coxman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      But he still fought her cause and won. So what did Sam do as Captain America? He reasoned to the powers that be, to scrap the GRC proposal. Remember the first Captain America almost destroyed Hydra. Both Sam and Steve fought as Avengers.
      As for Walker, as Captain America he killed a man without justice. He would be a perfect US Agent who will lead the eventual R rated team The Thunderbolts.

    The wings use Wakandan vibranium tech, the same advanced nanotech Shuri used to make the Black Panther suits manifest from a necklace. His wings are embedded into the suit, as are his two Redwings and his wings are vibranium and therefore absolutely bulletproof as is his entire suit. Princess Shuri hooked him up, at Bucky's request.

    US Agent in the comics has a long and interesting story arc. He tries to be Cap but realizes he doesn’t have the temperament for it.
    But the last time I saw him in the comics, people like War Machine and Hawkeye considered him a brother in arms. Rhodey and Clint were doing some off the books missions and called him for backup.

      Sharons arc is going to be continued in Armor Wars or Secret Invasion. Armor wars comics was about Tony and co. fighting bad guys to keep Stark Industries secrets/files safe from people trying to steal them. The Armor Wars show coming is Rhodey (since Tony is dead now) protecting it. Secret Invasion show is going to be about skrulls (from Captain Marvel) invading USA and pretending to be government agents. So some theories about Sharon is she is going to be a main villain in Armor Wars or a skrull is pretending to be her and setting up Secret Invasion. The theory with US Agent/John Walker is he will return in Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers. Also it was announced right after the season finale that Anthony Mackie will star in the 4th Captain America movie. Two writers from FATWS are writing the script for it.

Love the consistency of Batroc getting his ass whooped by Captain America every time lol. I also liked that Sam’s parkour training was used in his fights, it was very nice to watch. I think the important thing there is that Bucky took responsibility, but acknowledged that he had no choice. Bucky has beat himself up for years about what he did as The Winter Soldier. Him acknowledging he had no choice is a start in forgiving himself. It also helped Yori move on.

    I love Amber's "With our powers combined!" line. Gave me Captain Planet flashbacks. Also, I'm so happy that Anthony Mackie is getting his own Captain America film! It'll probably be in Phase 5, so it won't be anytime soon, but it's still awesome news. Plus, I suspect US Agent will be in the film, and possibly get his own series in the future. I do wish they would have given this show the same amount of episodes that "WandaVision" got, but with all of the projects Marvel has dropping this year, I can imagine they were pressed for time. The show planted seeds for the future, especially with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (aka Madame Hydra) and Sharon Carter. Personally, I would love to see shows focused around Isaiah Bradley and the Howling Commandos. Think "Band Of Brothers", but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    I straight cracked up at "One Band, One Sound" 😂😂 The amount of one-liners and just cultural references that only we as a people would get amongst each other, even just non-verbal communication, I really appreciated in all of these reaction videos (including y'all reacting to the Dora Milaje fight scene in Episode 4). Credit to Marvel (specifically writer, Malcolm Spellman) for truly making something uniquely relatable for all people, but especially Black people (and you 3 wonderful Black women). I can't front, I was looking on TH-cam for all the Black reactions just to really appreciate how connected we are in how we speak, think, and feel, across the diaspora (and that last scene with Isaiah truly moved me to tears as a Black man who understood the pain of our actual history and the redemptive feeling his character must have felt). Thank you for these uploads and keep doing what you do!

      P.S. - Please consider reacting to older films as well, like perhaps "Stormy Weather" (1943). I always thought that I could see a connection of many things we do now that they did back then, and even messages on the sly the writers/actors left for us in it that Hollywood probably didn't catch.

      @@WhatWeWatchin You're very welcome, and you'd love "Paris Blues" (1961) if you've never seen it before but love the idea of Sidney Poitier and Paul Newman as expat Jazz musicians in Paris with Diahann Carroll as Sidney's love interest and Paul's real-life wife as his (the actresses play school teachers on vacation in Paris who cross their path). It has a beautiful soundtrack scored by Duke Ellington, and one of the dopest musician battles ever filmed between Louis Armstrong & his band vs Paul & Sidney's band (which is really Duke Ellington's band playing). This year is the movie's 60th anniversary. I feel "Mo Better Blues" borrowed some ideas from it (I mentioned that to Ava Duvernay who agreed with me). Aight, lemme get back to recording work 😁

    The reaction I was waiting for! Nicely done!
    About Karli
    It is a complex character; the first and most comfortable, easy label is "terrorist"; I really liked Sam's approach to the issue. This obstinacy in positioning himself, fighting for what is right without forgetting his standpoint (social locus), putting a price on his own head quite a few times in the comics. He had even been called "Captain Communist", among other things.
    There is something about the construction and trajectory Karli that made me somewhat wary and it felt like deja vu: I had the same vibe after watching Black Panther several times since its launch and the story of Erik Killmonger. Two (potential) revolutionaries turned into "angry, misguided young kids that needed to be stopped"; "terrorists", "thugs". Well, Sam exposed that!
    This reminded of a phrase: "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"
    The idea conveyed is that a Revolution - something that subverts, something that breaks structures, something that changes reality radically in the sense of actually going to the root of the problem - is not something to be pursued. Within the context presented, Political Reforms are more acceptable, tolerable. And many people struggling must deal with "I'm sorry", "there's nothing we can do", "we can only do that much", "your protest and rage end right here - don't cross the line!", "we're just following orders", meanwhile, how about eradicate hunger, eradicate misery, distribute wealth and land? No. Only mitigation of suffering and misery by institutional means, supposedly "peaceful". And as Sam remembered in Episode 6, who controls the institutions? Who really has power?
    Well, once again, great, thrilling series. It gave us many thing to think about!
    Cheers!

      @citronm1405 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well said.
      I immensely enjoyed the show even as i feel it needed a couple of more episodes to flesh out certain characters.
      I think the series was truncated because of covid.
      I love the actress, Erin Kellerman, playing Karli.
      But, even more than Killmonger in Black Panther, the character performed senselessly violent acts seemingly just to signal to the audience that she is bad.
      Her bloodthirsty, "that's all they understand" attitude seemed forced without a more indepth showing of what formed her character.
      Killmonger being abandoned as a child and becoming a soldier for the United States with bitterness in his heart makes for a much more believable murderer in my view.
      Still, I think Black Panther would have made "Avatar" money if it showed Wakanda righteously defending people from the "West" in general and the United States in particular.
      This is as radical as you are going to get in a popular culture product produced by Disney.
      I take it for what it is.
