The appeal of Captain America is that its a title passed down, from one good man, to the next. That’s why I love Captain America so much more after this show.
When you get the suit right, for any character, especially when it gets "comic book" accurate, you will always be on to a winner with likeability. To be honest, I haven't really had a problem with any of Captain America's suits since day one.
Steve chose Sam because he knew that he was worthy. Bucky is still facing his demons, but he is still a great character. Neither the serum nor the shield made Steve Captain America, he was already Captain America. Now, Sam has earned the mantle of Captain America.
Bucky is also probably going to live longer than Sam. Maybe down the line he can inherit the mantle once Sam is unfit to serve. It'd be really cool to see the Winter Soldier's version of Captain America.
And his suit is nearly all white to represent his virtue, genuine compassion, his purity of heart, and him being a new clean start. The comics don't play with their choice in design and colouring. I love it.

Marvel fans turn into that proud mom and dad watching their own one and only child graduate from elementary school, middle school, high school & college upon seeing Sam Wilson Falcon as the new Captain America.
One of the reporters in the episode actually does call him that. Rick from Blind Wave has been saying that for ages. The other BW guys even congratulated him for predicting that joke when it made its way into the episode.
The relationship between Sam and Bucky reminds me of the relationship between Riggs and Murtaugh in the Leathal Weapon movies. Then you add Zemo and it's like the relationship they had with Leo Getz(Joe Pesci) in Leathal weapon. When the directors said they pulled alot from Leathal Weapon for this series they weren't joking. Even the scene when zemo walks in the garage and Sam and Bucky yell "NO" at zemo it's real similar to a scene in Leathal Weapon when Riggs and Murtaugh yell at Leo like that.
Oh yeah, alot of people especially gamers didn't catch it but that running shoulder tackle Sam did to Batroc was based on Cap & US Agent's Charging Stars attack from the Marvel Vs. Capcom game series

I love that Sam represents the next generation of American soldier. Steve and Bucky - WWII vets. Greatest generation, stiff upper lip, old fashioned values. The classic perfect man. Sam - Iraq war vet. Second time we see him he’s leading a PTSD support group for vets. He’s the modern perfect man. Strong, Brave like the WWII vets but also sensitive, not afraid to talk about his feelings. Patriotic like the previous generation but also critical of the imperfections of his society with an optimistic and progressive attitude towards it.
The perfect acqusition of the title "captain america" is when the former captain america pass it to you. Steve was nothing before he became captain america.

I love this Falcon-Captain America presentation, and I think it would've been very cool to see it at the cinema, it's the bad point of being a series, that not everybody will see it and there will be many people that meybe will never watch these awesome scenes.
