Worked ok on mi note 10 to mi 12 pro. Didn't transfer everything may be because old phone has global ROM and new phone has Chinese ROM. But great thing is Google Chrome transferred over which I couldn't download directly on new phone because of Chinese ROM. Great thanks 🙏
Actually I am not switching to Xiaomi as my main phone. I bought the Mi9T as I thought it was a good price for what it can do. The same goes now for the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Its my hobby to keep up to date and try out different Smartphones if I have the time and money. Also I like to share my experience so others don't have to invest money and a lot of time (only a little time viewing my videos)
Not necessary. Just make sure to have enough space. On the new device. In general I would do the transfer without the sd card inserted in any device and just later insert it to the newer device after the transfer is over.

Messages didn't transfer and the same happened to me. It seems there is an issue because like the two devices here, one has the MIUI message app and the other the Google message app and they have a compatibility problem. I want to move my messages but still trying to find a way.
@@av20200 Simple SMS messenger. It takes a copy of your messages in a format this app can read. Transfer that file to your new phone and order the same app in your new phone to read it. After doing that the messages will be open even for other message apps. For some reason it takes some time though so don't panic if you can't see all the messages. I transfer them to two new devices and on one they only appeared after I opened the app the next day.

I'm a heavy user of WhatsApp and Telegram. Does Mi Mover copy these apps and the messages over to my new Xiaomi? Or I need to install WhatsApp on my new Xiaomi and import the WhatsApp messages that was backed up in the cloud?
Better to back them up. Sometimes it works for some apps sometimes it takes a few tried. So best always use the backup functions of the apps itself to be safe.

If you have Huawei I would recommend Huaweis Phone Clone that seems to work better also copying over app data. The Xiaomi one only copied over music, photos and videos

You tried it multiple times? Also I think Samsung is using their own sms app where poco x3 uses the google messages app. So you cannot transfer them automatically. Maybe samsung offers an export option you can use

Use another app maybe. Honestly the app is not the best and if it complains about storage look at free storage and see the size of files you want to move.

Has nothing to do with the sim card afaik. Try again only transfering the data of specific apps. The Mi Mover is not always getting all data over on first try

I let it remain in the old one if I want to copy contacts from it it too. Otherwise if you don't copy anything from the SIM card then it does not really matter.
the stupid hotspot feature isnt working, the recipent phone creates a hotspot, but the sender phone cannot connect to the hotspot because it doesnt know the password, when you change the recipient phones hotspot password the hotspot crashes and doesnt work. and the error repeats itself everytime you try to change the password.

Not always sadly. Sometimes I had to use the app 2 or 3 times to actually grab that specific data aswell

Check the permissions and if you have given it location permissions aswell.

It does not copy any operating system over just apps and their data. Please check if you have running the latest version of the system in settings

It does not come preinstalled with the software. So I am not aware of anything else then Googles restore feature

It can move data aswell. Though on first try it does not always work. What always worked for me is only choosing one app and its data per time

Yes. You need to maybe explicitly choose the notes app data for it to copy it.

Mi Remote should work if you explicitly choose to copy the data from that app. Fingerprints cannot be copied

Thats an issue I never encountered. But yeah maybe it needs fixes.

It depends on how you sort the photos. The photos should store their original date and time of taking and you should be able to sort them like this
