I can not access the cell and don't want to lose the things like pics I have on there... I cant take the battery out and I can't get past the pin screen and losing my mind! I've done this before, over WiFi and need to do it again tomorrow to a Pixel 6a. It works a treat, except yes, a lot of Apps require a sign in and some data, such as that in my "Notes" App didn't cross over and I had to send a lot of it manually, via email. Also, if memory serves me well, things like Nova Launcher and Swiftkey Keyboard have to be set up from scratch. Even with all this, the setting up of a new phone is a time consuming process! 😉😉
My new S22+ currently says it will taking 36 hour & 40 minutes to complete the transfer with Samsung Smart Switch. I am transferring data wirelessly from a S10+. I selected "All Data" . Maybe stop it and modify what gets transferred over ? Any help is appreciated. This is happening now as I type this. Thanks, Gerry
Don't transfer your apps with all the rest of the stuff. Wait till all your data, except apps are moved, then go back and move your apps over. The guy at TMobil told me to do it that way and it much quicker both rounds of transfer.
what do you use about cable if your old phone is 1 USB C and the other phone have another type {old type before USB C} can I use a USB C adapter ,in new phone,but which cable ?from the old phone?

I am trying to switch from nothing phone to moto Razr 40 ultra from the last two days using the cable but it just gets stuck at "Getting Ready to Copy" I left it overnight but it kept on that screen for several hours and I had to cancel it. If you input the new sim you will have to call your provider and have them update it or you won't get service. If you keep your old sim card then it works immediately!
My old phone is a ZTE BL557, and I bought a Galaxy AO3S. They took my sim card from old phone to my new phone, but it's not showing my contacts (many) on the new phone. (Assuming you are just switching from one phone to another phone, using the same phone number and carrier) You should place the SIM card from your old phone into the new phone's SIM card tray.
Just an FYI,the apps are downloaded to the new phone from Google Play. Every app that you have ever had sits in there and whenever you get a new phone they can be downloaded.
For me and my new phone this was the case however they weren't readily accessible without going to settings then apps and the app so this video was helpful to me in that regard
@@Pink_Paladin Well,the app is in Google Play with minimal data. The actual data is on your phone,that's why you use the cable in this method. Or you can use the cable to download a backup of the app data to your laptop/computer.
I use Textra for texting. Will this type of transfer copy Textra and all the messages including pictures and videos? Old device uses mico usb, new device uses C usb. I would think this problem comes up often.
NONE of my apps transferred. (edit) Ok, I noticed that a few of them did and then.......10 minutes later, I saw a few more pop up....and then more....then I remembered something about google backing them up inn the cloud, but there was no notification anywhere when it started restoring. It's great that this worked but would be nice to have a notice about it when it is restoring because I had totally forgotten about that.

sadly, this isn't gonna help me. My old phone is a Galaxy A02s and my new one is the A23. The a23 is demanding the use of smartswitch, wouln't be a problem if the A02s could support that, which it doesn't support that app
Great video except it didn't work that flawless for me. Going from a Pixel 5a to Pixel 6a. I used the cable, screens looked similar. The text message lost all the pictures, I had the comments but no pictures in the text. That was the main disappointment. The second was the apps didn't populate the screens, the apps downloaded, but they were all in the main directory mixed with all the android apps. Next I reset the Pixel 6a and used a backup of the Pixel 5a created with Google 1. I got the same results.
This is much better than having someone else do it and see all you're private personal stuff.

same thing happened with none of the home screen stuff happening. though the background did transfer.
