    As an OTH fan, I am SO GLAD Sophia, Hilarie, and Joy have reclaimed the show. For years, I felt so conflicted about loving the show because of the crap the women went through. Sophia is just simply incredible! She's so intelligent and articulate.

      I see what you mean, but it doesn't change the fact that Mark Schwahn created the show and the characters, was the showrunner for its entire run and wrote or co-wrote 75 out of the 187 episodes. As terrible a person as he may be, it's undeniable that his work is a major reason of what people love about the series.

    • @wuteva4eva456
      @wuteva4eva456 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      She would be a great person to talk with about the meaning of life, but not so sure about a party. The humor Michael tried to infuse into the interview was not matched. There were multiple times he tried to joke or deflect when she tried to go deep, and it just felt a bit off. Maybe not uncomfortable, but definitely off. I respect her for not wanting to talk about her ex and shifting the topic, but it seemed like she wouldn’t let Michael do the same.

People are more than their relationship status

    What I love about this show is that these are real conversations. They leave so much in that I think others would edit out. So many times you hear "We can edit that out" and they don't. This conversation at the end about Ryan being unhappy with Michael for making a possibly poor decision re: Covid health (in hindsight) - and they left it in. It's helpful for people to hear things like this. We think about our health and situation - but there's the impact to the people around us as well. Thanks for leaving it in boys. Honesty and truth are so important. Well done again!

  • @philippulliam

    She is so much more than an actress. I have really never seen any of her entertainment work outside of The Hitcher remake and a vague memory of her former marriage, but I'm very glad I got the chance to hear her share. I don't perceive that Michael was so willing to hear her initially. He seemed reasonably defensive, but it quickly became micro aggressive.
    She talked him through it like a sincere, empathic, mature adult.

    Loving it! Your parents love you and its evident they weren't the best versions of themselves while they raised you. Its hard for anyone to accept their faults and just because they won't accept them to you doesn't mean they are not aware of it. They are simply so overwhelmed by the hurt they could possibly caused you, they rather deny it. Some of us will never be able to have the deep and real conversations with our family that are often so needed to overcome a lot of trauma, however, we must accept they are human, that it's simply too hard for them, because they themselves have not overcome the severity of their own trauma and we just have to accept and let go in order for us to move on and have healthier lives. 💗💗💗

Her choice of acting seems now to be an inevitability simply because she has the ability to do with her talents what Bruce Lee used to say regarding water taking whatever form the vessel is. really enjoyed this interview, however, didn’t appreciate the chad talk. she clearly was uncomfortable with it and didn’t want to talk about it. if you were asked at every interview about a relationship you had briefly in your early 20’s wouldn’t you also be annoyed/not want to talk about it anymore? Its done with. They dated, were married briefly and haven’t known each other for so long. I guarantee after this interview she felt a bit jaded by your prying on the topic. You can be a great interviewer without bringing up things people don’t want to talk about, just ask Sean Evans. ;)

    Sophia's comment about both disarming the desire to cover up mistakes and simultaneously set up the chance to heal wounds was just amazing. She has some great insight!

    • @irremedy
      @irremedy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do have to say that when she first starts talking about marriage, Sophia states a few things as facts that aren't correct. There are complications in marriage, of course. Marriage for the right reasons is necessary. And yet, there are so many facts that show the necessity of the unit of mother, father, and children. Enormously better chances in all areas of life success in those circumstances.
      Going along with that, I loved what she went on to say about Michael's potential avoidance issues. It was very insightful. What she said about being very positive about marriage as long as we are clear about what we are signing up for was awesome was also great. The real partnership and radical honesty comments are fantastic. FANTASTIC.

    • @irremedy
      @irremedy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Facetious Universe Did you even read my entire comment? Most of what Sophia had to say was great. Some of the facts she gave were inaccurate. Abusive families are awful. We're not talking about those. We're talking about the family unit that works how it's supposed to. Notably, Sophia went on to talk about specifically that. She talked about how she viewed marriage positively, but that it had to be based in reality, not some fantasy of romanticized perfection. And she's absolutely right. I just think you're trying to find something to nitpick here.

    My mother's a narcissist and impossible to be shown her mistakes; my dad took 30 years to tell me that my childhood was a lie because she twisted/manipulated everything. I would've loved to be able to have family meetings and discuss feelings. Thankfully I found an amazing therapist.
    Added fun fact: Jackson Brundage who played their son happens to be my second cousin.

    Actually I only got really tired at first. I didn’t lose my sense of smell until right before the quarantine was over. My nose isn’t the same still. I still can’t smell that much yet. I couldn’t smell at all for going on 5 weeks. I tested positive last month l. Being really tired is a symptom. I was constantly tired and had no energy.

I don't watch horror movies much, but the trailer has me intrigued. I don't watch horror because I disturb my husband's sleep, because I end up sleeping with the lights on due to being afraid at night, lol! But this movie makes me want to take the chance! Thank you! Keep up the great work! You're an awesome interviewer!

    Love the real talk between Rosenbaum and Ryan, I hope I remembered right. That Covid stuff is rough. And Ryan’s wife going through her loved one passing and Ryan feeling frustrated by the misunderstanding and bad timing situation. Making it so he couldn’t be there for her in person.
