This is the best interview I've seen in YEARS, and I used to do interviews for a living. She's the best guest, and Michael BROUGHT it. It took 30 minutes to get going, but after the 30 minute mark, it's straight FIRE! Great job, Michael.
I agree with you. Michael literally has the best interviews I have ever seen. There's this feeling that every time you watch an interview and you think oh wow this is great then the next episode is even better.
He is really great at coming up with relatable anecdotes with his guests then using them to slide into his next question or talking point. It feels really natural and enjoyable to watch/listen.
I first saw Krysten on Veronica Mars and then started following her projects, she’s fantastic and I really hope we see her in the MCU as Jessica Jones again. Such a stellar performance from her in both seasons
The B in Apt 23 was SOOOOOO good and Krysten was comedic gold in that. She's right that the timing wasn't great because it really was in that transition period of people watching less TV and being online more. And yes, the writing was definitely ahead of its time.
Just like what happened with Hannibal; absolutely brilliant show that was so well written, acted and produced (and shocking it was allowed on primetime NBC!) but it was on during that weird transition period between cable/satellite and streaming. The energy when she talks about prepping and the art of acting and charachter building.. man I wish I was that passionate about anything! That's awesome
This might be my favorite episode ever! I loved hearing her talk about how hard she works, how she deals with her anxiety, and about being down to play a grown-up Wednesday (YES PLEASE! How perfect would she be for this?). I always thought she was cool but she just turned it up another level.
So excited to watch this one!!! Loved Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones!! Thank you so much for having her on the podcast Michael ❤️ Hope you have an amazing week! Happy Tuesday 💙

Jessica Jones season 1 is one of the best seasons of TV. Krysten Ritter and David Tennant’s performances are incredible. He is one of the best MCU villains. Up there with Loki, Thanos, and Ultron.
It is so refreshing to see a successful actress talk with such joy about her craft. Jessica Jones is the best female driven action series since Buffy. Im gutted she hasn't been back in the MCU yet. The show deserved the same praise Daredevil got. The line Jess mom gave slays me "A hero is just someone who gives a shit and does something about it." My love for Krysten has expanded even more. She is a force to be reckoned with on screen. #bringbackjessicajones
I think out of all the Netflix Marvel season 1 Jessica Jones is the best single season. I have to hand it to Daredevil though that it was more consistently good (barring the second half of season 2)
Her comment on confidence is so right. I’ve done things that’s others wouldn’t do, or at times I was blessed to have the opportunity to do some things. Confidence has also been a problem at times and held me back from opportunities that were offered to me.
Kristen is really a delightful and smart person who talks about herself very simply and sincerely ❤ It’s thanks to you, Michael, that people are so confortable 💙 I love Breaking Bad, i know Kristen thanks to this show ♥️ Every Tuesday Inside is a joy and an additional enrochement, thank you so much Michael and Ryan 💙❤👏👏
Thank you Michael for relating the story about your emotionally neglectful parents because I see so much of that in my own experiences. Ive often said my Dad was in as little of my life as he could get away with and still live in the same house. Just near total disinterest in me as a person. I didnt notice this emotional vacancy until I was older. When I was younger it just registered as tough love or something. I came to the realization they didnt care when I turned 18 and found out they had NOTHING for me. They didnt even bother to save anything for me for college or offer me any kind of support or help. We were barely middle class but I know they couldve done something over the years. My Grandfather is a rich accountant. It hit me like a ton of bricks how fucked I was but what hurt more was that just no one cared enough. But boy did the whole family mock me when I dropped out of college. Not one asked me why or if I needed help. Fuck them all.
I'm not even 15 minutes in and I'm already loving this. It's so raw, honest, and vulnerable. This is already so fantastic, I forgot how much I loved this podcast! ❤ Thank-you Michael & Krysten!!
I've been an actor for 4 months & this actress is SPOT ON! You prepare & prepare & prepare. Control what you can control & move forward no matter you get the part or not. Long days happen on set too. It's the job but the shoots take FOREVER
I've suffered with anxiety most of my life. Hearing someone else that gets so anxious they want to pass out or throw up is something I needed to hear. The struggle is real. Thank you!
Krysten has an amazing infectious personality. What a great episode! So nice to see someone who is so positive about her work and the people she works with. Can't wait to see what she does next!
What a fantastic episode, Krysten is such a treat! I also like listening to your childhood stories concerning your dad, they really hit home considering my dad was pretty much the same, but much more absent. He wouldn't tell me to grab the ice bucket, he just wouldn't be there. I guess there is a thin line of hurt between someone, as important as your parent, mistreating you and someone not even being there for you.
Seriously awesome interview with Kristin Ritter. In this day & age it is so refreshing to see people like her that are every bit as cool off camera as the characters she has played that we have come to love. Kudos to you Michael and best wishes to Kristin too!
Michael and Ryan, master conversation entertainers. Thanks guys and Krysten. If we ever meet I am going to shake your hands, buy you a beer and say thanks for letting actors open up and speak about their lives however they want to. Also, always on point with the technical. Good mix, no pops, camera cuts, everything. It's just a joy to listen to a watch. Thanks for broadcasting on the human bandwidth.
I've never been into too much of celebs on their own time, so I usually go for vibe. Krysten has always given off the best vibe as a person and this confirms it. She is so adorable and how confident and hardworking she is of an actor, seals the deal. Kudos to you Michael for such a great interview.
Michael has really upped an already solid interview style into a very compelling conversational experience. He's found a voice and approach that resonates
I enjoy how Michael first says that he and Krysten went to a concert together, but it turns out that it was just a random sports game in which they happened to run into each other… 🤣
This episode was a great introduction to Krysten and I am really impressed with her total dedication to her profession and to life in general. The whole interview was vibrant and the connection between the two of you was magic, thank you for having her on the podcast😊I shall definitely be checking out all of her work💖
Super duper loved this episode. Michael is so good at helping his guests feel comfortable and really letting it flow! Such a great conversation! Thanks for doing what you, Michal!
God I love her. She has the most down to earth personality. One of my most favorite interviews. Jessica Jones needs to come back and I loved Don’t trust the B in apartment 23 show was pure genius. Totally think they can bring it back beautiful acting and writing. ❤❤❤❤

This week’s episode was delightful. Krysten definitely opened up and had so many great stories. I definitely understand her work life balance philosophy. She definitely should be on Wednesday. She is definitely grounded and down to Earth. That is so cool that she created the look for Jessica Jones. Y’all show should have been picked up. David should definitely be on this podcast. Inside of you is one of the best podcasts. I highly suggest this episode.
This was an amazing interview, love Krysten and the conversation between you both. The chechemistry was amazing I see a long friendship between the two of you. The Love Krysten has for her child, I think everyone never raises their child the way they grew up. I know where you are coming from Michael growing up. I came from a dysfunctional family and you learn from your parents and their parenting skills. Everything back in the day is different like Krysten said time changes. I made sure I raised my children different from how my parents raised me. I was always there for them and give them compliments and praised them and gave them love. It’s does make a difference in their lives and they do grew up with confidence and makes them into loving parents. What I learn from raising my children, I been doing it for my grandchildren and spending time with them as much as I can. My children have more confidence then I do and they don’t stuff from social anxiety like I do, I also get very intimidated by men from the abused I suffered from by my dad and ex husband. I was isolated more than 20 years, by my Ex husband didn’t have anyone but my children in my life. I spent the time telling them that I loved them and how beautiful they are and give them the confidence even now coming from and abusive situation. Always told them never lie and never miss treat anybody no matter what. I have come along way after my divorce in the past 20 years from support groups and therapy, I have more confidence and my social skills have improved a lot over the years. I still have problems in social environments sometimes causing panic attacks and still deal with PTSD and I get very overwhelmed. I freaking love Krysten Ritter. She is so talented and this was a great interview. I was also a huge fan of Orphan Black and had no idea there was a spinoff being made. Can't wait to see it ❤
I loved Kristen in Jessica Jones. Her character was so bad mouthed, bad ass, and sexy. It is nice to see she has a bunch of that in her real life, and she seems like she is a great mother.
My ADD mostly precludes watching long videos, but this was a breeze. I laughed, I cried, so cool. The character on, "Breaking Bad," was meaningful to me and my daughter.
This was great! Rarely is an actor honest about craft. How she went into detail about the heavy scene study and script analysis. Most people don't understand the level of attention it takes. I wouldn't call it work as much as commitment and extreme attention to detail. (Calling it hard work paints a different picture in my opinion. It's relentless focus and radical curiosity and empathy. )But I wish more good working actors would explain their prep process. Everyone's is different and they're all worth hearing and trying to see what works best for you. Often, it's a combination of things. She has a gift for memory, which is extremely helpful. That's probably a natural talent. That leaves you so much time to create rich backstory for the character and discover intention. If it's not on the page. Great interview!
I love how nervous Krysten was at the beginning and after about 10 minutes she was comfortable and coming out of her shell. It's amazing how at ease you make people!
She never ages...she's a true beauty who's talented & passionate about her craft. As an actor I truly could listen to these conversations endlessly 🎬 🌟 📽️
I don't know a thing about acting, but I enjoy hearing two actors talk about the process of acting. I can identify with what Krysten said about putting in the work and being prepared. I'm particular about preparation and dissecting a project or whatever I'm working on and have found that it leads to success.
I love Krysten and I'm extremely excited for Orphan Black: Echoes! The original with Tatiana Maslany is one of my favorite shows of all time and I can't wait to see what she will do with this new spin-off.
Loved the interview! Krysten is so fun and cute! Love her energy and genuine character! I always love the questions you ask your guests. Thank you, trio, for making such a great show!
It’s so funny seeing Michael talk with these actors about their superhero roles and seeing how obvious it is he has not specific idea what he’s talking about because he hasn’t seen these movies and/or shows.
Love Krysten, you, and David Tennant who is Scottish from my town and I went to the same high school as him (he was a couple of yrs ahead) so luv how small the world is these days of technology. U all so talented and lovely, it really does help my mental health . I always thought Krysten should be Lydia in a remake of Beetlejuice !! 💜💜🦇
Wow. Amazing interview. She’s a true firecracker. And I can attest that she is a hard worker. When Jessica Jones filmed in NYC, you could see her work ethic on set and of course on screen. She wasn’t acting. She was living the role; incredible. And yet, still very human unlike Al Pacino and Robert De Niro who will take your head off if you try to approach them on set 🤣. Thank Michael. Can’t wait for another interview
@@jesseowenvillamor6348 The experience wasn’t horrible per se. It’a just they were on set to do their job. As master method actors, they were in their character and didn’t want to be bothered. There was a rule on set that unless you are a director or personal assistant, don’t bother them.
I'm happy to hear shes willing to come back as JJ. She wasnt interested when season 3 wrapped up, but she did JUST have her kid. If she's ready, I think they should bring her back.
I'm nearly 100% certain she'll be in Echo or Born Again. I'm more curious about Marvel Studios being smart enough to rehire Mike Cutler, but recast Danny Rand. And put his character in his mask/ costume. Really bugged me.
@@nivekian Yes!! The actor who played Danny Rand wasn't the right fit for that role. He played a martial arts master, and everyone could see he wasn't a martial artist! Just going through the choreography. Annoyed me so much considering the actors they could have chosen.

Sooooo looking forward to Orphan Black Echos! I'm a fan of the original show, and I have lived Krysten in everything I've seen her in. I'm sure it's gonna be great!
Always been a fan of Ritter. But this interview was fantastic! Blown away by her authenticity and her love of her work and son. We’ll done you two great video.
She's so right about Apartment 23! Ritter was hilarious. The whole cast was. I worked at Fox at the time and always tried to sneak over to watch filming on the lot if they were doing exteriors.
Wonderful interview. I had seen her in a few shows but never really clicked who she was till I saw her in Gravity. Really good show and have been following ever since. The B in apartment 23 is also amazing
David Tennant is a great actor. He is my favorite Doctor, and I loved him as Purple Man, but my favorite role of his is Broadchurch (season 1 in particular).
Only Michael can get these legendary actors and actresses in a podcast. Love Krysten for like 20 years now. She is just amazing in every possible way. Hope that this channel and podcast will have at least million subs. Much love and respect.

I'm particular about preparation and dissecting a project or whatever I'm working on and have found that it leads to success.
You always have the best guests!
That was a fun interview, enjoyed it very much. Please invite her back!!
Easily one of my favorite episodes ever. Krysten’s energy legit motivated me to get off my ass and do stuff. Inspiring episode.
I love Krysten and I'm extremely excited for Orphan Black: Echoes! The original with Tatiana Maslany is one of my favorite shows of all time and I can't wait to see what she will do with this new spin-off.
Sweet, I just did an Orphan Black rewatch, ready for the new series on AMC+.
Man, she’s something. Great actress and a hell of a great attitude about life and work.
KRYSTEN ,thank you very much for the advice it's taking me over five decades to get the confidence to be able to be like you are now
Michael: "There are a lot of shows that are successful that aren't great shows"
My mind: "Smallville, for example"
Loved the interview! Krysten is so fun and cute! Love her energy and genuine character! I always love the questions you ask your guests. Thank you, trio, for making such a great show!
That was hands down the best interview I've seen. Those two have a good chemistry..
You guys knocked it out of the park baby!!!
Awesome interview.
It seems that you had a horrible experience with De Niro and Pacino
@@jesseowenvillamor6348 The experience wasn’t horrible per se. It’a just they were on set to do their job. As master method actors, they were in their character and didn’t want to be bothered. There was a rule on set that unless you are a director or personal assistant, don’t bother them.
@@GenesRapture Yeah I mean they're not being hired to entertain the workers on set
Great interview. She was fun to listen to.
Excellent episode. Michael you’re killing it. Keep it up!
I wasn't bored for a moment. Love her work.
Best episode so far! Some great advice here too.
Love this! Great of you Michael and Krysten Ritter to show your vulnerability as artists! 💖💖
I'm happy to hear shes willing to come back as JJ. She wasnt interested when season 3 wrapped up, but she did JUST have her kid. If she's ready, I think they should bring her back.
She’s amazing and you have a real gift for doing great interviews!
We so need more Jessica Jones 💯
Yes exactly
Kevin feige needs to hire her
I'm nearly 100% certain she'll be in Echo or Born Again. I'm more curious about Marvel Studios being smart enough to rehire Mike Cutler, but recast Danny Rand. And put his character in his mask/ costume. Really bugged me.
@@nivekian I remember yelling at my TV THATS NOT IRONFIST🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤯🤯🤯
@@nivekian Yes!! The actor who played Danny Rand wasn't the right fit for that role. He played a martial arts master, and everyone could see he wasn't a martial artist! Just going through the choreography. Annoyed me so much considering the actors they could have chosen.
Wow. I didn't expect it but I love this Ep.
Krysten is just authentic. Would love to see her back as JJ or and adult Wednesday or Aunt Wednesday 😂. Thanks Mike for bringing her in.
I'm late your podcast, and been watching random ones non-stop since finding them 3weeks ago. Have to say this has been my favourite one to date. Krysten was amazing, the banter back and forth was fantastic. Also had no idea there was a spinoff to orphan black
Sooooo looking forward to Orphan Black Echos! I'm a fan of the original show, and I have lived Krysten in everything I've seen her in. I'm sure it's gonna be great!
this was so fun to watch i love her she is so real and genuine
She was SO MUCH FUN to watch! I loved that interview! :)
I really enjoyed this interview, talking about the true artistic process of acting.
This was an amazing interview. Michael, you truly know how to enter people's hearts. Amen brother
Wonderful interview. I had seen her in a few shows but never really clicked who she was till I saw her in Gravity. Really good show and have been following ever since. The B in apartment 23 is also amazing
Amazing interview. I love how generous she is about her fellow actors too, seeing her geek out over David Tennant is adorable.
I'd watch Krysten play Thursday, Wednesday's aunt in a heartbeat! 😂
Love her! Hadn't heard anything about an Orphan Black spin off until now, can't wait to check it out!
This episode had me smiling throughout and laughing at one point. This is among one of the best episodes! My all time favorite continues to be the one with John Schneider from a couple of years ago. Thamk you Michael!
Met her in an airport lounge a few years ago - absolutely delightful...
LOVE Krysten Ritter
I’m praying for more Jessica Jones soon 😍🙏🏽
One of your more interesting casts for sure!
