Soon the legendary Royal Enfield 350cc UCE pushrod engine will be consigned to the history books. And in this video I share my thoughts as to why I am going to get myself one before it is discontinued. I am quite sure that in 10-15 years time this motorcycle will be a highly valuable collectors item. So, I suggest that you consider getting yourself one too.

One of the many reasons I got my Bullet 350 couple of months ago. I imagined the same scenario in my head, 10-15 years from now when everyone is riding electric, I'll be dug dug dugging away everywhere.

Sir ,if you reading this ,I bought 1st gen uce in December 2010 and still holding it. Running like a charm,have some valve work but overall it's good. Most of things can be diy. My family says to sell it but in 2years in am renewing the RC as it will complete 15 years and will keep it dear to my heart forever. Who know what it will give when the childern in my home grows up and sees a legacy in the garage and hope remember me as well😁. I am 35 but I like simple things in life. All the best sir

I own a 2013 STD 350 uce with metal tank badge have done almost 2 lakh km on it .
Still enjoying it , have been using fully synthetic oil and polytron since past 6 years.
I am even maintaining my dad's 1996 2 stroke bajaj Chetak 12v electronic for my future generation to enjoy it .

@@shuvampatra7349 no not at all had multiple time issue with front drum brakes in rains have converted it into disc brake after that have been enjoying the ride ☺️😁
based on your experience how fast can this motorcycle go ? 80 ? also what did you do for clutch and break lever vibrations ?
Yes i quickly bought this mean machine once the Classic 350 is reinvented.... i know its a serious investment and down the lane 20 - 30 years this will be a treasure..

After watching your shorts a month back around 4pm booked the bike at 6pm. No second thoughts.
After roaming 4 showroom got the last and only bike available.
Got it delivered in about 5 days.
I've clocked about 900kms no regrets and feels so special.

While reading it ,i felt like ,my bike uce 350 cc getting old..IT FEELS LIKE OUR SCENIER GENERATION GETTING OLD..I CLOCKED ALMOST 1.45 L KM IN MY 2011 FIRST UCE 350CC THUNDERBIRD.I CANT SELL MY BIKE AT ANY CAUSE.. RECENTLY GAVE FOR ENGINE RESTORE, TRAVELLER ALL OVER INDIA , OFFICIALY AND FOR TRIP...MORE MEMORIES IN THAT.....

Bought one about 2 years ago for almost the same reason, I'd be keeping it as my forever machine. Pushrod motor without a timing chain and has hydraulic lifters, basically change the oil and it will keep running like there's no tomorrow. If this doesn't scream maintenance free then I know not what does, I've been working on my own bikes for well over a decade and the Bullet is the easiest to work on, the EFI was fun considering the crazy high FE but I'm in the process of converting it, sourcing about 15~16 non-consumable parts for the conversion was a breeze as everything was available off the shelf which was surprising, anyhow yet to find the time to proceed with the conversion. Any how, this is a motorcycle people should seriously consider buying cause once RE stops production then that would be the end of Pushrods as we know it considering even Harley has moved on to OHC motors.

Thank you for the info. I have 2020 Jan BS4 Model. Earlier I was having 2010 Self start Thunderbird 350 long body which I used for 10 yrs and then shifted to STD 350 KS model . Self start models were having more vibration then this STD 350 abs model and I am loving it❤ and I am keeping it for lifetime now after watching ur video.

This is a good video. I recently sold my RE thunderbird 500. Did not think like you guys while selling it. Otherwise, would have never sold it. Your video made me think of getting this UCE 350 push rod bullet, and I might get one. Thank you. Love you guys and the way you make your videos. Should get this before the J-series bullet comes in.

I'm having the exact same bike which I bought it in Jan 2021. I before had a plan of getting classic but suddenly realized that Bullet standard 350 is unique and down the lane 10-15 years this is definitely gonna be a collection. Clocked 26k kms. Never regretted buying one 😊

Bosky, circa 2040 AD, imagine riding out on this Bullet to Airlines Hotel for a breakfast on a weekend, tailed by some 70 yr olds, armed with walking sticks, in a Fiat 1100D, shooting with a film camera… breakfast followed by double scoop at Corner house - can assure you of a big traffic snarl followed by imposition of sec 144.

I have a CBR1000RR and just bought a new '22 C 350 and find myself riding that all the time. I absolutely love the bike. I would have loved to find this bike or a new C 500 but there were nothing available in the States. Enjoy!

The headache of storing it is too much an effort for return on investment. If you really want to enjoy an UCE engine, do it NOW, why wait 15 years. And you will still get some looks from the neighborhood oldies with that loud exhaust.
For you may be but no headache to me!!! And I don't enjoy the UCE right now where i am in my evolution. Too heavy too slow. In 15 years I likely will enjoy it though. Cheers!

This reminds me of the old B movie called "the Last Chase", about a man who stored a disassembled racecar under his garage floor when all vehicles were outlawed and destroyed. Decades later he resurrected it and drove across country--even those trying to stop him were enthralled by the cars power and prowess, especially compared to the anemic golf carts the authorities were reduced to using. This low-budget movie provides much food for thought.

Would request to make video on what are the things we can upgrade for Bullet 500 UCE to make more reliable please. Like conversion of rear drum breaks to disc breaks and so on. Would help few like me who are riding this bike without any addons and willing to keep riding .

Even uce engine is also called the king of carburetor other than efi system. Better get it converted into carburetor after a long time or may be after 10 or 15 years .👍

When I enquired at RE showroom, they said 45 days waiting, you'll get the J platform.
Yes, there seems to be a waiting period foe the Bullet 350.
I own Standard 350 2020 bs4 ABS model but with Carb which is easy on maintenance...i will try to keep it with me for long term...I also have another bike Yamaha SZR which i will exchange later n buy some other bike but still will continue with Bullet as alternative bike

@@bigbearbangalore actually the company don't care in maintaining the legacy n charm of the original Bullet...the CI or UCE engines were different from all the other engines d way u said because they had the push rods which operates the rockers ..unlike other engines where timing chain n cam shaft are present...also these long strokes were producing thump n d pleasure to kick start it was awesome...but company didn't bother about the feelings of customer n they changed the engine as well as design of the bike...not appreciated... ideally UCE n 500 cc shall be relaunched...
I suggest you consider dping some more research and understanding as to why the company moved from push rods to over head cams. Thanks.
@@bigbearbangalore push rods might be outdated design n requiring more maintenance or even replacement at around 50k kms..infact the British made it obsolete n we carried for decades...but purchasing RE is not about technology..when u purchase RE u think from heart not from brain... because logically u will find japanese bikes r far better in design n quality than RE..

Sadly, tighter emission norms in the future unlikely to allow that.

Hell9. Thank you. The J had no vibes actually. It's the Bullet ES that has vibes. The Bullet is kind of outdated and just that it had nostalgic value. The Classic J is modern and a better performer.
Man good luck to you but this is all emotional thinking and it's fine that way. For me and a lot of other people this is more of a metal scrap than a joyride.
Metal scrap is doing better than plastic scrap in the 2-wheeler market.
Anyway, we will find out in 15 years if the 1.5 lakh invested gives a good ROI?

I use my motorcycle only for trips. I had the 350 std for 8 years, rode only 8k km on it, bought it for 1.25L and sold it 6 months ago for 1.10L, so yes, bullets retain thier value forever. But i traded it in and bought a dominar, and in the past 6 months i have ridden 4k km simply because it's such a massive upgrade from that slow sluggish machine. No regrets whatsoever.

the UCE bikes have a drop in quality I doubt it will last more than 20years.i have a classic 350 with j series engine the quality is much better and I feel that after 10 years they will alsoo go up in price and become a collectors item as the future is electric ;)
Yes I agree and the fact is once any hugely successful design is discontinued, the value of the design increases with each passing year. The unique design of a push rod is what gives it the value. Cheers!

Yes! The ES and KS have the same engine but for the electric start.

Hi! In my opinion crank weight matters not. Whatever the crank in the engine is designed for that engine. Enjoy the ride.
This heavy crank term came in from the old cast iron engines of rhe 1960s. Not really relevant in this UCE. Cheers!
@@bigbearbangalore Sir actually it matters, Electra or classic UCE engines had crank weigh about 8KG and STD 350 with 10.2 KG hence STD will not be able to accelerate just as Electra or classic however on the pros side it can slug the engine with 30 speed even with 4 or 5th gear due to heavy crank and high torque.

I have a 2017 thunderbird snd also a v strom 650( thanks to your review videos) i love both the bikes but im not able to ride the thunderbird except for city. Initially was planning to sell it. It has 35k on the odo. Seeing this video i would also like to keep for the future. I have regularly maintained it. Will it be good idea? Or to get this bullet ?

I own a 2011 dec standard uce clocked 62000 kms. If you had to choose between CI electra 5 speed, CI standard , standard uce and AVL machismo what would you choose Sir.?

Sir, I have booked two bullet Standard 350 on 4th July and 6th July 2023 and yet to receive the bikes. Now the RE Customer Care representatives are saying that they can't provide me with the UCE engine. Instead they will provide both the bikes with J Series Engine. I have contacted many times with their support team but could not get any result. Could you help me where to contact, thanks
Am sorry I am unable to assist here. It appears that the UCE has been finally discontinued and replacedbwith the J. Regards.

Guys after 10 yrs im not sure if even petrol is available , it will be ethanol mixed and the engine should support this bike. Else you will be wondering abt the decision. oing by cliamte change related policies u never knoew how hard policies will be. So careful..

Arey bhai aap to ese bol rhe hai jaise apne koi bahut purani chez ki baat kr di ... Humare pass old bullet cast iron engine wala model hai aur usko hum aaj chalte hai to log mud mud ke dekhte hai. CI engine ki baat hi alag hai simple engine with low cost services.
