I have tried a lot of different anchor types which slipped under tough conditions and did not reset. Since I have been using a Sarca anchor I have found that it sets quickly and rarely has to reset which matches your test results. Very happy with the Sarca.
Hi there. one trick is to have shackle in the rock slot position with a couple of decent zippy ties tied into fixed shackle position. ties should only break when needing to retrieve anchor when stuck, utilising the rock slot function, not when current and wind direction changes. hope this helps
I know im a little Johnny come lately but have to say the Sarca is a great Aussie design used and sworn by many Australian boaters should be used by all boaters in Nth America and all over the world by that matter theres also conclusive proof and documentation about how boats with Sarca anchors helped save lives in the phuket tsunami where boats without them were washed off anchor and smashed into rocks....
Hi Steve. I'm in Asia and there's a lot of mud here. Is it possible to hook a 2nd anchor to the back of the primary anchor to get more bite and so as not to foul the lines. Your thoughts

This is how I rigged my Manson Supreme.
I have not tested this though.

In your opinion is the Ranco fisherman a good anchor and is it a good resetter ?
Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to test a Rocna Fisherman Anchor.
They will have to pry my Super Sarca from my cold dead hands.
FOULED...
i'll never buy a manson.
