OFFRANDE pour orgue (2022)

OFFRANDE is a piece about the Presentation of the Lord Jesus Christ. According to the Jewish tradition, every first-born boy after birth was offered in the temple to God as an expression of fidelity and complying with the Law. In the case of Jesus Christ, who was a man was also One of the Holy Trinity, it was a sign of special devotion to God the Father. Simultaneously the offering was the beginning of the inevitable events with the apogee on the Cross many years later. Calm, majestic and thoughtful music introduces us to a mystical atmosphere events from centuries ago.
Performed during the 6th edition of RASSEGNA "ORGANO E..." on September 23, 2023 at Basilica San Paolo fuori le Mura in Rome. The theme of the concert on this day was "...ISPIRAZIONI".
