I haven’t been to the magic of NEK since 2015. The snow looks better than I would have thought. I feel that out of Island Pond from north to south heading east is a giant elevated zone to Lancaster, Colebrook, Canaan, Norton and Derby. It feel it has the most exaggerated difference in snow level from low in town to plenty of snow about a half hour plus from town compared to so many other riding areas. Those trails have the best combination of high to lower speed, flat, up and down, wide and narrow. There is a flow, speed range, turns and hills. In and out of throttle, standing and leaning. You can hit turns without constantly loosing all your speed. It’s not slow and it’s not just sit down flat fast and boring. If you understand terrain and hoe to use it it’s phenomenal there. I see it on camera right now. That mid speed, not slow not wide open tight but not too tight. In and out if throttle left right up down. Damn beautiful
You get it! These types of trails are what keep us all addicted to this sport! Such a great area to explore and ride. Even running the same route to and from lunch is awesome up there.
Love watching your videos.....I do this all the time on the trail, 1100 miles Com Turbo R....is dialed in.......I don't know why.....but I need my 1 gal gas can Linqs....on it ti be perfect......snow changes though out the day bumps on different sections
First thought that comes to mind is the rear torsion springs may be a touch stiff/strong, so the added weight from the fuel gets everything to a balanced point that works well for you! If that's what works for ya then don't change it!
Love the video see you make changes and how things respond. I just picked up my Assault and plan to have Andy work on the KYB46 for the front, then we'll tackle the rear with him as well. Wish it wasn't raining and melting everything we have.
Andy will set you up! I'm very impressed with his work/valving and he's awesome to deal with! If you have any setup questions on your Assault feel free to reach out, they can be tricky to get them to handle well.
Do you have any interest in running the 2" factory front shocks again ? I have a custom set of front springs we manufacture for the Assault/ XCR with 2" shock that may get the characteristics you're describing of ride in vs rate if you wanted to test something else on the channel. Keep up the great content nice to see videos with sleds in action DC
I actually spent this weekend riding the machine with the 2" W/E that Wenzlaff did up for my 650, on the Assault and they worked VERY well. I'm now working on selling the KYB's and figuring out what W/E to go with for the Assault. The CC or 600R shocks interest me, but the way this thing worked with the standard length 2" body units was impressive. That said I would love to chat about your springs and give them a try! Can you shoot me an email to munsonmotorsports@gmail.com?
I've got about 400 mils on the pads now and can say they do hold up to temperature related fade a bit better. The initial bite is very good and the modulation is just as good as always. It's hard to say if they're a big difference or not because I've been riding both the Assault and the 650 back to back and then changed the pads in between, being that the machines are so different in weight and characteristics it's hard to tell the difference in just the pads from the stock pads in the 650 to the new HD in the Assault. It would be cool to take a ride with the 650 and swap pads back to back to see, but testing snow isn't the best nearby right now unfortunately.

The Assault/IGX skid really is a fun machine! The smiles rarely stop on this thing

Hey Tanner, any chance you could hook a brother up with a source for the amber strips for handguards? Thanks man
Shoot me an email to MunsonMotorsports@gmail.com and I can send you what I used when I’m back in the shop

What are you running for rates and crossover on your fts?
Is there a noticeable difference with the HD brake pads?

I would really like to know the location of the parking lot?
Called the “Butterfield lot” on RT302 in West Topsham. Great area to ride
@@410notch Nailed it! Thank you for getting to this comment, been up in Canada all weekend with marginal cell service.
This late in the season? The season just started.
