The answer to your problem is called 3200. The classic Baddon was a plated buffer tanked fleet ship with logistics in the days before Oracles, which is what you should be flying if you want a sniping mega laser mission ship. If you want to use this ship for missions, go for beams, a heavy cap booster with 3200 cap charges (you've got space in the cargo hold, because laser crystals are tiny) and dual web to hold the pesky little frigate NPCs down, and a dual large armour repairer setup.
Thank you! Great editing, nice pacing, lovely music, very informative, wonderfully explained. Overall awesome! I am really looking forward to the Apoc build.
Abaddon for mission is heavy AF, slow AF, and doesn't move around that well. With that said, it has potentially highest damage out put, that is a 7.5% damage on 8 high slot laser, which at skill 5, puts it at 11 effective high slots. The megathorn, which is 7 blasters at 25% faster shooting cycle only give it effectively 9.33 blasters. It also have a resistance bonus, which at level 5 is equivalent to 25% to all resist (multispectrum is 18% ish). So, high damage but no tracking bonus. Naturally resistant and thus tankier than other battleships. So its ideal position is neither a brawler or a sniper, but somewhere in between. It is best used with a rack of 8 mega pulse lasers firing scotch. With 1 tracking computer and optimal script, this will effectively let the Abaddon target anything within 55-60ish KM. You can also run Conflagrate for anything thats within 25 km. If you sit perfectly still, the only rats that can hit you above 50km would be battleships, which you can track no problem with pulse laser innate tracking. Anything smaller than battlecruiser will have to approach you, so you lock them up and split your guns in to groups of 2 or groups 4 and alpha them off the field. With a rack of scotch + 3 heat sinks, your turrets comfortably dish out 800+ dps, and with conflag, its close 1300 dps. Sometimes you will get hit, but you got that resistance bonus working for you. You will never be able to, nor do you need to permenantly cycle armour repairer. You will also not need to fit any targeting or optimal rigs/modules as 50km engagements are perfectly within the abaddon's normal attributes. This allow you to focus on capacitor. Now that battleships are 400 million +, faction large batteries are only about 15-20 mil, and worth the fitting saving compared to tech 2. You can also just run 3 capacitor rigs. With this set up, you can sweep level 4s with high enough dps to rival a mach without the mobility. Alternatively, run an alt with an armour logistic cruiser and go all in on cap and dps, then just let the alt set orbit and remote repair.
6 beams + cap injector + gecko kill squad + armor tank + reactive resist = better ship at the cost of cap boosters. Or Passive Shield Tank that has almost 60 hp per sec regen.
If you got time, re-visit this beast and do a close range strong tank + pulse laser high DPS build and watch it melt Amarr L4 missions like hot knife through butter.. while looking absolutely glorious!
I really wish this wasn't so hard to fit. I love lasers and I love the look of the ship, but the only way I can run it is to run 6 guns instead of the full 8. Which is basically pointless because there's so many better ships to fly then. Hell a Maelstrom is better than this
Try slightly smaller guns? Tech 2 are rather hard to fit, you could try the Tech 1 variants to make them easier to fit (or Faction variants, if you're rich) OR change out the Locus Coordinator rig for a PG rig to give you more fitting room?😎
Hey, I fly this bad boy in L4 missions all the time. I'm not sure if your grid/cap problems are caused by a lack of skills, because I do not have these issues when fitting mine. However, I also use an AB instead of MJD, and pulse lasers instead of beams, so that could also make a very large difference. I feel like this ship is designed for brawling, not sniping, so perhaps the reason you dislike it could simply be that you're "trying to fit a circle into a square hole" by fitting it as a sniper lol cause imho this thing is an absolute beast. Not quite as beastly as a paladin, but it also costs a fraction of what a paladin costs.
I usually prefer an Apolcalypse for brawling but I'm sure an Abaddon can be fit that way. That's the joy of fitting, there is very rarely a correct answer(!) 😎
@@CadePlaysGames Oh yeah, Apocalypse is for sure a better mission running ship in general too. But like you said in the vid, the Abaddon just looks so darn awesome lol so I sacrifice a bit of efficiency for vanity 😎 I'm sure you could fit it as a sniper and have it work, was just saying from my experience it's an extremely effective brawler
@@a.nonimus6705 This whole series was about me showing off that different playstyles can work on almost any ship, as long as you get to know the fundamentals of the fitting theory....maybe one day I'll go do every ship all over again, but make the snipers into brawlers and the brawlers into snipers!😎
@@ot0m0t0 Haha, my character is actually Minmitar, you imperial swine! The double rep with the hardener (+Abaddon's bonus armor resists) keeps me at full armor while fighting anything a L4 mission can throw at me. I use multifrequency L (standard crystal) for maximum damage, and I only use the standard crystals for missions because it's not worth the ISK for advanced crystals when I already melt the enemies. I'd rather have the benefit of infinite ammo than the dps boost. Also, while the fit is not cap stable, you can typically maintain all modules when you actually need them for long enough to kill whatever you need to kill. I have a ton of cap boosting mods on it, so the capacitor lasts a decent amount of time. But worst case scenario you can flick off the reps to regen some cap here and there without dying Best of luck! o7
Apocalypse is better suited to pulse lasers, in my opinion at least. I could have fitted Aurora tech 2 crystals then sniped from like 200km with this Abaddon. It's a pretty good sniper!😎
It's a real shame as I love the 'baddun and everything I try to make it efficient in pve just results in it being vastly inferior to other T1 battleships. I really hope it gets a rework one day as the looks are great, and to be fair it is still popular in PvP as a brick tank.
You need to add on to your fit that you need a powergrid implant atleast level 4 I also found that you can use a reactor control unit 2 instead of a powergrid 2 to recover the powergrid shortfall instead of adding a pg implant 3 minutes 7 seconds vs 2 minutes 48 seconds.
Yeah this was one of times I forgot to jump into an empty clone before recording. Reactor control instead of Power diag should solve the PG issue. Abaddon have terrible cap problems all the time anyways, so losing a minute or so doesn't change things all that much. You could remove the locus rig and add a 2nd tech 2 cap rig..... 🤔😎

Now i come from a video where the guy said one cant even use that ship for them anymore. Ive taken a look and i have around 900 dps with around 80.000 hp + armor rep (either stable or with paste) on the Proteus. When i do search they show insane buids, like a shield Proteus and weird things like that. Also this Abbadon seems very expensive.... So, is all this really required nowadays? Why? Especially what has changed then, if there is such a dramatic difference and the ship that was top tier PVE isnt worth it anymore for the exact same activities??
Not really, missions themselves have barely changed and even a cheaply fitted low skilled Battleship should be able to complete them just fine. The ships themselves got more expensive due to blueprint changes and now Battleships cost way more to build!
@@CadePlaysGames thank you :-) Thats good to hear, kinda. Yeah i was wondering why i saw a Megathron selling for 700 million now. Thats sounds crazy and was surely not what ive paid back then ^^
I'm trying to fit Abby with Tachyon Beam T2 with x3 Heat Syncs T2, but OMG it feels nearly impossible... PG, CPU are huge issues already and It is just impossible to make it Cap stable :( But the range is 192 lock & 151 optomal 192 falloff with 412 damage. I just need 11.1% cap recharge rate more and it would be a win! :) BUT! I feel like it is just impossible without implant set of Genolution and even then I'm not sure it will work, after I will invest ~ 800kk ISK... Is it even possible? :)
Getting Tachs to fit is not easy but it's possible. Cap life is the main problem that Abaddons suffer but if you snipe then you won't need the armor rep on all the time. With my skills and implants and with Aurora ammo and range scripts the fit below gets target range 192km, 187km falloff, 148km optimal, 579 DPS. Cap lasts 06:52 with the rep and MJD off. 03:11 with the rep running. If you remove the tracking enhancer and replace it with a cap power relay then it's 14:06 cap duration without the rep which should be enough (03:53 with it running) Could also change the T2 sensor booster and tracking computer for enduring versions then you get 03:56 with rep running and 15:56 with it off, but the ranges fall to 186 target, 164 falloff and 133 optimal. Could also replace the reactive hardener with a multispectrum energized membrane which then gives you 21:13 cap duration with no rep and 04:07 with it on. You get way more cap from using Tech 1 ammo but then you either sacrifice the range or the damage that Aurora provides, and then you're probably better off just using Mega Beam Laser II(!) 😎😎 [Abaddon, PVE Tachs] Reactive Armor Hardener Large Armor Repairer II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Reactor Control Unit II Tracking Enhancer II Large Micro Jump Drive Cap Recharger II Sensor Booster II Tracking Computer II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Tachyon Beam Laser II Large Semiconductor Memory Cell II Large Semiconductor Memory Cell II Large Semiconductor Memory Cell I Hobgoblin II x5 Hammerhead II x5 Infrared L x8 Ultraviolet L x8 Multifrequency L x8 Optimal Range Script x1
