Let me know which Sockeye is better? Kenai Reds, Seward Reds, or Copper River Reds? I couldn’t tell the difference! Lol

copper for sure. Given fish of the same grading, there's a noticeable difference in color after being cooked. The others are similar. PWS, Kenai, Bristol, Many prefer kings for their higher oil content. I'm running into more people who choose pinks because the meat more mild than the others.

@@littlegoobie that is interesting! Thanks for your input! We liked Kenai Reds better since we catch them while they are still chrome versus copper river.

@@littlegoobie wow that is interesting! Pinks are more mushy in my opinion. We prefer Silvers due to more tender and fattier meat than reds.

@@littlegoobie I’ve heard the preference of Kenai Salmon over the others so there has got to be a difference. Thanks for the input

@@littlegoobie A fresh female pink is delicious. I caught 50 the other day at Bird Creek and one very small silver...tight lines. Enjoyed the video!

Aw wow! I’m glad you were able to see the video I’ve made. We appreciate the help, and letting us borrow your net too! It was tough catching without the experience and proper gear. Big thanks again!!

Copper red , Seward reds , and Kenai reds. All taste great but like Seward reds a little more lol

I think Seward Reds seemed more fresh coming the ocean, lwhich makes it fresh compared to others

That’s crazy guys is that 3 or 4 sections of poles. The more poles the harder it is to control in the current. Buoy’s are a must and walking with the current gives you the the best % to catch red salmon. Haven’t gone yet to Chitina. Far drive from Anchorage for a single driver and fisherman. Charlie. You’ve earned it guys for driving 6 hours one way to dipnet.

Hey Charlie! We were all new to dipnetting so we didn’t know what we were doing. Those few fishes took a lot of work, but it was worth the experience! It was so fun hanging out with friends after an exhausting day.
