Haven’t really bought anything for retail price in years.
Companies slam “Elixir” or “Parfum” on the bottle and think they can charge 25% extra on top of the already high prices. No thanks.
Because the scent is actually different.... I'm assuming you have always bought the edt version of things
Dior Sauvage Elixir was worth every single penny. At first, I thought, "No way, it's so expensive!" But after one spray, I knew it was worth it. I can almost smell the money. 😂

This video was great. Would you consider doing this exact format but add the following: show 2 of the absolute best clones for each one and then focus on DNA (with the main point of when it's dry unless it has a long dry down), projection, how long it lasts on skin vs clothes, etc.... that would be the greatest help on knowing what to buy. Also hit up some extremely expensive ones and of course those clones. Love your shows... thank you for listening.
19 Degree is amazing, I just bought it, and have been wearing throughout the whole week. I've gotten so many compliments on it. it is worth it at a retail price! it performs as it should!

Sauvage Elixir is worth it for sure. It's actually cheaper than most designers per use considering how people usually do 4-6 sprays while elixir is 1-2

I decided wear Voyage D'Hermes Parfum today after watching this video last night. It's been a while since I last wore it, but dang... I'm remembering just how amazing this scent is!
For me ... Anything over $100 USD is Rediculose ... I myself look for the scent that works for me ... Sure the ingredients are supposed to be Better in the pricier fragrances. So I hit up discounters or look for alternatives. I'm not a Perfumer ... Not a Large collector ... Just basically a Wearer.
You cant rly buy almost anything for less than 100 at retail tho. Certainly not a 100 ml bottle
Im in England i thought our prices were going up fast but some of the prices you’ve quoted are mental (allowing for exchange rate). Also Ive got to say Ive been collecting steadily for years with around 350 fragrances including designer and niche but this is the first time in that period that im seriously looking at going niche exclusively because if you shop around the difference isn’t massive.

Certain niche are cheaper, many offers discounts too especially on first purchases. Montale, Mancera, Carner Barcelona etc. Akro is there with $180 for a 100ml bottle as well.
I smelt y elixer at macys the other day and i can relate to Ashtons first impressions. Just more of the same thing at higher cost. I bought extreme when it cane out and i barely use it. The edp is all you need
I found ADG Parfum 125ml on Loja Glamourosa for around $118 USD tax and shipping included. Still in stock the last time I checked. No leaking so far 👍🏻
Have you tried the Superz Budapest house ? im interested in Soho because heard around that its a niche version of Le Beau Le Parfum
recently bought y l'elixir, i haven't owned any of the fragrances from the y line and really wanted something nice. honestly took advantage of it since i was able to grab it at $150 from macys with the VIP sales (got a lot of free goodies since i'm friends with the macys worker haha). with how i am as a person, i knew if i got y le parfum, i'd also want edp intense, AND the original edp. at least with this, i won't be double guessing since i was able to smell the other 3 in store and the only other one that i really liked was le parfum.
Voyage's price might go up quickly though, it seems like the line is getting discontinued.
It reminds me of Still Life from Olfactive Studio, love it !
Bleu de Chanel Parfum is worth every single cent and I can say that even tho it’s not affordable for me. I splurged for a bottle
It's the only fragrance I I have a back up bottle of, bought the 100mlloved it and 150 back up befor inflation really hit
Its my least favourite of the line, but still great imo

Guilty elixir is absolutely amazing. Wore through 1/2 the bottle in 5 months.
I got guilty parfum for about £80 and i got guilty elixir for £100 I've seen ysl y elixir for about £100 on notino uk so i think the prices in the UK and USA are varying a bit more on certain brands than others, generally they usually aren't much different, I think the gucci elixir full retail here is £125 that's quite a leap from 183 dollars USA and the y elixir also a a leap based on the notino UK site i haven't checked the full retail price yet
I got gucci guilty elixir for about 115 euros (so a little more in dollars) and I got it from a retail store! Worth every penny!
adg parfum pricing is crazy over there. For us in the eu, the 125 ml is often around 100, sometimes even below.
Im not buying anything new. Just stocking my old powerhouses. I’m buying one or two bottles of every scent I use and are still available

This winter i got Gucci Guilty Parfum 200ml for 144 dollars on notino. Amazing frag but MSRP is ridiculous. Only buy it discounted
Guilty elixir is such a standout from the gucci line. Like they do a bunch of mid guilty drops for years and then all of a sudden drops a fragrance that could pass as an amouge release? Honestly i think its incredible, i love it
I bought savauge elixer when it first came out. Very strong ! Unfortunately gives me a headache. Think it smells great but as it gives me a headache I feel like the lavender is the issue. Or incense

I love Burberry Hero EDP. It is one of my signatures. I tested out the Parfum on skin and even the mid and dry down were wack. Not a fan
I love mine too. My most recent pickups are: Hero EDP, Valentino BIR EDP, Eros Flame, Sharaf blend, and Zanzibar.
Green Goblin ( Gucci Elixir ) Is an Amazing Beast Quality perfume at 110 euro ( in Europe )
I bought my Dior elixir 100 ml for £151, didn’t fancy paying £189 😅
I have also bought 2 60 ml backups for around £200.

Well, the better reason to argue that TdH Parfum isnt worth full retail is how great and unique but also found for reasonable prices at retail the EdT is.
weird sauvage elixir in this, i thought it would be DHP. I just found out that 100ml DHP in my country sells at $167, meanhwhile sauvage elixir can be found arround $150.....

I really do feel that the new Gucci Guilty Elixir is worth every penny. And this is coming from someone that hates Gucci fragrances. Even from my over 150 bottle collection, I own zero Gucci frags. This one, however, smells like Reflection Man and Pegasus had a baby. Love it and have gotten several compliments while wearing it.
You gotta try new brands like some Byredo or Maison Francis Kurkdjian

I have The Tux by Maison Alhambra and that is supposed to be a near perfect clone of YSL Tuxedo. I have never had the opportunity to smell Tuxedo, but The Tux by Maison Alhambra smells incredibly amazing.
Acqua di gio parfum is no more available in 125 and 75 ml in retail. Its 100 and 50 now with magnetic cap.

Notino in Czech republic has Y Elixir since launch for 127 dollars and they are authorised dealer. Others like Sephora or Douglas sell it for almost 200 dollars. 😂
Duty free usually has Sauvage elixir 100ml at around $180

I implore you to try Armaf Art Du'Parfum. It is a Sauvage Elixir Dupe that, in my honest opinion, is much better and only costs 1/10th the cost. Same notes as in Elixir, but honestly not as rough. Also has a huge longevity. Highly recommend it. Wished I had purchased it before dropping the $250 for Elixir. But I'm glad I bought Elixir too.

You are mentioned Acqua Di Gió Parfum 195$ for 125 ml , in Hungary thats price is 70 200 Ft right now but I buy the 125 ml Parfum in 2023 December 02. from Notino in Hungary for 48600 Ft so around 135 $ and I also get a sample Acqua Di Gió shower gel 75 ml. So I think i get a very nice deal in that time and Parfum is such a great scent ! Ahh i make my comment really quick , stopped you vid but then i noticed you said 145 $ for a 125 ML

Don't tell them I said this but most Mancera fragrances should be more expensive. Glad they ain't if we consider what they offer and that it is a niche brand, albeit right at the bottom of the niche ladder.

All these brands are 3-4 times as expensive as they were in the late 90’s to early 2000’s. It’s sad to say I remember when you could go to Macy’s, Jcpenny, or even Kaughmans if your from up north which Macy’s bought. All of these in the 90’s used to be close to $50 for all of these brands. To see Acqua di Gio this expensive is just simply ludicrous to me. Especially when I know I picked up a bottle in my high school years for right around 60 bucks and now they want legitimately over three times that price for the same thing. Absolutely not there’s a reason why the clone market is taking off into another stratosphere. And it’s simply because, these designers have lost touch with their consumer base. And they can see what they want that the cost of materials have gone way up and everything like that but if it was the case, then these call brands wouldn’t be able to get even as remotely close as they do. They’re spending far too much money on marketing and advertising and paying celebrities, and simply have forgotten about the art of fragrance entirely and that’s why all these con brands are slowly, but surely stealing their market share. If they were to get back to the roots, launched fragrances that actually unique under $100 retail these clone brands would fold overnight.

Gucci Elixir in Europe is 110 euro , Parfume is 90 euro ... But its Ok because Some Perfumes are Cheaper in US than Europe ... Thats not a Perfume Problem ...
So from what I've took from this video is that Parfums are for the most part a fluke, when it comes to retail, (*COUGH COUGH* Man in Black Parfum) it just seems like an excuse to hike up those prices. I mean at least with some of the elixirs, at least they verrrrrrrry somewhat justify the price, when it comes to quality and overall performance
My hope is that dupe/clone sales go up 📈 because of these ridiculous prices

Without any scientific composition data how can anyone say what they’re worth? Most fragrances cost less than the bottle to make. The research and marketing are the reason. Plus that 10X luxury margin.

I told myself I will no longer buy designer fragrances if they are in anyway a flanker. That’s the only way we are going to get these larger brands to start actually trying again and giving us some more unique frags like they used to in the past.
