Used to go to Leeds & York from Morecambe in steam days via Green Ayre , and enjoyed many trips with the Lancaster Railway Circle to engine sheds and works in the 50s & 60s , Great days . Lived by the line in Morecambe and remember the freight trains from Heysham lighting up the sky as they thundered past in the night , How the world has changed .... Great photos, and music , well put together, cheers.
The site of Green Ayre would make a great Tram hub. Running on the old rail route to the Park and Ride and then stops at Asda, White Lund, Sainsbury's/Westgate and into Morrisons.
The pictures should remain on screen longer and be captioned with the year and a description, so the viewer knows what they are looking at! Just a constructive suggestion.
Are these images available in a book? I was born on Vicarage Lane in Lancaster in 1943 and steam trains passed our house from Green Ayre to Castle Station

The two men sat together, the one on the left is my late Uncle Cliff, my dad's brother.
