My thoughts exactly, Fuegoleon may have been a great mentor for him but I don't know if he did a very good job of just being a fun brother. Mereoleona definitely wasn't and isn't gentle with him at all.
An omake chapter somewhere had Mereoleona suggest that they throw him in a deep hole, and have him climb back up on his own as training.

Of course, he didn't seem all that bothered, but Fuegoleon's reaction to that idea says it all.
Leopold only survived because Fuegoleon was the responsible one. Mereoleona tried the spartan training when he was just a baby.

I don't mind these filler/anime canon episodes at all tbh. The constant canon battles were great but the fillers are enjoyable and make the story feel more alive.
Exactly, there needs to be a balance between the danger and the peaceful silliness. You don’t want too much of either side.
As long as it's not 4 seasons filler only like Naruto I'm totally in for it.

I actually like filler because it gives time for the characters to grow and develop, plus I love comedic scenes in anime so I get that from it.
It’s slightly cringey but cute how socially awkward the older Vermillion siblings are, especially Fuegoleon
Is to show that fuegoleon and mereoleona are great leaders but when it comes to socializing there bad at it
Well Meroleona does spend more time in the woods, so....
It actually highlights pretty well a good reason why Mereoleona can't see herself as Wizard King, aside from wanting to avoid politics as much as she can.
It requires her to be good with people, and she's probably somewhat aware of just how bad she is with people when it doesn't involve much fighting.
Of course, she probably doesn't care all that much about it, but she's aware, at least.
I'd argue mereoleona was worse, though. Fuegos was cool, just prob not to a kid. Mereoleona just assaulted some kids lol

Hahaha, goes to show that Fuegoleon and Mereoleona maybe amazing leaders, but they aren't great at playing with kids. Asta however is the best with kids because he and Yuno babysat their foster siblings at the church when they lived there so he knows exactly how to interact with them. I thought it was absolutely hilarious!!!

I love how studio pierrot are focusing on good slice of life content for Black Clover and lit stuff for Boruto (not even being sarcastic i swear i genuinely like what they are doing) because it will be easier for the studio to focus on good animation & art for both BNNG & BC.
