@@yarnhatter1632 Well if all they ever get are insults and negative behavior then it is hard to blame them. You gotta remember that all these thoughts the characters show the audience, and the obvious delay during them, are not visible to other characters, the guys only see the girls look troubled and then theres usually an insult coming.
@@Triplebrc I think it also has to do with Astas childhood and upbringing. He was an orphan in a poor village and looked down upon for having no mana. He's used to being considered a "loser". He is definitely not used to people liking him so much let alone being attracted to him. Noelle and Mimosa are royalty so he's probably just happy they like him as a friend and comrade. Having all these people like him (regular like) is newer to him and he's pleased with it. He most likely thinks some beautiful royal would never be in to him like that so it's not easy for him to get there.

It amazes me Asta, that you can strike so close and yet miss so hard about Noelle and her feelings for you. You've got to get the sister lily thing out of your head, my boy. Is the possibility of having another woman in his life besides her really such a foreign concept to him? Though he has been better about it recently. I think the only time he's brought her and the marriage thing up in the last thirty-forty episodes has been when he saw her in person.
Asta is a man of faith who doesn't give up. that should be all you need to figure out that Asta won't be convinced easily.

I do like that Asta is actually quite an intelligent and perceptive person. He's entirely aware of Noelle's feelings and makes a similar observation about Charlotte, indicating a good ability to read people, but the thought of it being romantic love has literally just never crossed his mind.
The fact that Asta notices something puts him above most shonen protagonist. Also, I like how Nero moves flies away from Asta's head as if she already knows what is going to happen.

The parallel between Yami X Charoltte and Asta X Noelle was beautifully done and so funny. If you replace the word "trust" with "love" throughout his entire statement then you'll see how well it fits. It's just that he's too dense to call it love😭 Yami=Asta Charlotte=Noelle, this scene and the episode as a whole were hilarious.Yami and Charlotte are simply the older versions of Asta and Noelle in like 5 years or so XD. I ship both end game ships heavily and can't wait for them to both sail.

Oh shounen protagonists they’re so clueless when someone loves them. Though I think Asta may be the closest thing to a shounen protagonist knowing how the girl that loves him really feels. At least from the anime I’ve seen. Even though Asta still doesn’t get it fully. I will still ship Asta and Noelle though.

This is why a female character would fall for one because he views it as an afterthought. It's how some female characters' abilities fail to work (Boa Hancock anyone).

I feel Yami is one of those shonen protagonists that know how the girls feel, but doesn't comment on it and pretends not to notice until they finally be honest. Because why would Yami ask if Asta was embarassed over trust? Idk that statement just stands out so much.
I think it was a mixture of Japanese Culture and mistranslation of what was really said.

@@mattsathrohan288 it's not a mistranslation, 信頼する (he uses the "progressive" form 信頼している) means "to trust", "to have confidence in", or "to have faith in". it means pretty much the same thing in japanese as in english. though it's true it could be a cultural thing, I kinda doubt it.

Guys, I think he knows that "trust" in this context means "love" or at least something romantic, otherwise why would someone be embarrassed of someone else's trust in them?
This is the most Asta comment I've read so far, feel like you're really close to something yet far off. By context, I can tell that neither can really sense the "love" or romantic sentiments but maybe the sentence doesn't exactly translates to trust because like you mentioned why would someone be embarrassed of it. I think there might be some translation gap here.
Asta is literally giving Charlotte advice on how to get Yami by comparing her to Noelle and he still doesn't put 2 and 2 together. Bets on that the rest of the Blue Rose Knights will figure out that Noelle likes Asta

Imagine seeing the most calm and noble (not as nobility but as attitude) captain lose their composure like that (or like the runaway scene). Poor prickly queen, she made a prickly fool of herself. I love that. I love when characters with her regular personnality have such a weak link in them that makes them more human and relatable, just like its nice to see Asta getting serious caus badass.

If your not honest and upfront with someone they might honestly get the wrong idea, like with Yami.
Something else I didn't fully think about during this episode was how much I appreciated the fact that Charlotte's squad was encouraging her to be proactive and ask Yami out herself as opposed to the standard trend of trying to get the guy to ask THEM...but in y defense, I was distracted by something much more important than that. Tsundere power takes priority over all that bs LOL
Asta gets thrown around by Noelle on a daily basis and not once did he fight back or even defend himself. The most beautiful thing in the world is being able to spend time with someone with all your shields down.
Notice how at 2:09 Nero is a bit surprised thinking like : "Hmm, this kid is not as stupid as he seems/acts" or : "Didn't expect this idiot to understand/perceive that" , keep in mind Nero knows How Noelle feels , she was drunk and was saying everything on one episode , nero was with her during that scene.
Noelle wasn’t drunk she under age to drink so that was all her speaking truthfully plus she didn’t have that drunk look so

The only reason any of us knows that Noelle and Charlotte like asta and yami is the show gives us that information. asta only like 14 or 15, he grew up in a church and his only real goals were to prove himself. The fact he even recognizes Noelle feelings to any extent is amazing and if anyone in this comment section had a girl act the way she does would've probably avoided her. No one wants to constantly get yelled at and socked every five minutes
