    @ryanterence471 ~ Nice! It’s good to hear others are having a similar experience with these tyres. I never worry about punctures with these and they were so simple to set up. Just a track pump and didn’t even need to remove the valve core. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    I've tried a bunch of gravel tires and these are my favorite. I found them on Competitive Cyclist a few years ago and left a 5-star review. They seem sort of obscure, I did not see others reviewing them until recently. In around 3000 to 4000 miles I only had one puncture and it did not leave me stranded. Seating the tires was extremely easy. There are still some miles left in them but I finally pulled them off around Xmas and swapped them for the Gravel H tires just to try something different. And those are indeed very different tires, which I should have expected by the very dissimilar tread patterns. The Gravel H are fast but for my type of riding (including some looser terrain) I prefer Gravel M.

      @elitebicycleracers ~ agree, great tyres! I want to try something different in the spring and then put these back on for the winter. Thanks for commenting!

      Nice dude! If I bike on some pretty messed up roads with glass, nails, etc everywhere should I go for the heavier tread on the gravel m? Even though most my miles are on pavement

    This was my first time using any Pirelli tyres on my bike and have to say I was impressed. The tyres were extremely easy to mount on my Giant PX2 rims. The bead seated with only a track pump! I didn’t even need to remove the valve core!! The whole experience was great including the ride which is superb! 👍
    The only Downsides are the weight and price. The only downside for me is I couldn’t get the 700x50mm as they were out of stock.

    These are my favorite all season gravel tires! They excelled at almost everything I threw at it. The only thing is that they did not have great grip on steep and loose climbs. If you like these, I would recommend the Rene Herse oracle ridge that inflate to 50mm on 24mm internal rims.

    • @BikeLife154
      @BikeLife154  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nguyen Vo ~ thanks for your input! I’ve been looking at many different tyres and Rene Hurse was one such brand. The Pirelli tyres came out to 46.39mm in the end. I wanted the 700x50mm version but as you know the situation is incredibly frustrating at the moment with the lack of tyres in stock! What are the Rene Hurse like on tarmac? And puncture protection? Thanks again!

    • @NguyenVo-408
      @NguyenVo-408 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BikeLife154 the Rene Herse oracle ridge are a lot knobbier, so I think they roll a bit slower than the Pirelli Gravel M, but it's hard to tell. I have not had a puncture yet and the side walls with the endurance casing is quite durable. I took the bike out on some rocky singletrack and no punctures or tears from that!

      @francoisrdt ปีที่แล้ว

      @loveofbikes if I may chime in! For two years now, the Pirelli M’s in 45mm have been my go-to shoulder seasons tires, while I use René Herse Hurricane Ridge for the summer (42mm nominal). Both sets stretch 2mm wider than nominal on my 25mm internal width rims, so we’re really comparing 44mm with 46mm. Takeaway: Pirelli’s grip has been pretty much unbeatable in my experience, whereas RH do roll faster (they roll stupid fast, faster than anything else i’ve tried) on harder surfaces, wether hardpack and dirt, or tarmac. Both are fantastic tires with an edge either for grip or sheer speed.

    Nice … was actually looking at these tyres. I noticed your using the ritchey venturemax carbon .. how’d you find them ? And what size did you go for.. did you stick to the same width as your road bike ( presumptuous of me lol I know)

    • @BikeLife154
      @BikeLife154  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @motomoto898 ~ I’m sure you’ve seen better reviews on these tyres, but they are as good as people say! I expected them to be slow when riding road, but they’re good everywhere IMO. I’m actually running the Aluminium Ritchey WCS Ergomax handlebars in a 42cm. I like 38cm bars on my road bike but not on gravel. Too narrow and unstable. They list them as road bars for some strange reason, but they have a 12 degree flare, 4 or 5 degree back-sweep, a 10mm rise and feel more like gravel bars than road. The tops are super comfy for me as well. They are the best quality aluminium bars I’ve ever run on any bike Bar none! I thought they were carbon when they arrived. Thanks for commenting!

    I have two gravel bikes one 700c and the other 650b. 700c was a no brainer setting up tubeless the 650b was an absolute NIGHTMARE (had to bust out tire levers). Both bikes have carbon rims and aired up no problem using a floor pump.
    I have used in the past Vittoria Tereno Dry, WTB byway, WTB Nanos, Teravail Washburn. Hands down the best gravel tires on the market tire to date IMHO. If you think the 700c x 40 are supple the 650b x 50 knocks the 700c x45 model out of the park.
    If anybody cares the 650b feels slower as in terms of speed (no regrets!). The bike with 700c x45 feels like a rocket when I back to back the two bikes. I was going to pull on for the Gravel H. But James from Ride Adelaide had problems with the Gravel H. I'll take his review as sage like advice.
    Keep ridingI

      @bootsauce47 ~ thanks for your comment. It’s good to know these things! I wanted the 700x50c but couldn’t get them at the time. I will get some in the future though. Like you I saw the review of the Cinturato H tyres on ride Adelaide and that stopped me from buying them too. I have no regrets buying the M tyres. Cheers!

    Great tyres, rolling good on and off road. I have them on my Gravel bike (Giant Revolt Advanced 0). Mounting without effort, with just a track pump.
    I have a M in the front and a H in the back

      I (sorta also) have the Giant Revolt Advanced 3 and I mounted the Pirelli Cinto Gravel Hard 40mm (both front and back). I do lots of broken asphalt, cobble stones, and light and medium gravel and they work great on that. I also can just use simple track pump with meter.
      Good in hard sand. Not like impossible to ride in lose sand but surely not ideal with very little thread.
      My Hard ones are meant for ... hard terrain. These Mediums are also interesting

    hi bro0 how's the aero bottle is it still good? does the new model not make a water drop? does it not shake? is it still worth it to buy in 2022? awnser me bro0, thx!

      Hi there. The water bottle is worth it if you want to ride fast and be more aero. If you like how it looks buy it. However, the old and new both leak water, rattle and sometimes come out at speed.

    Got to say that if you are going to do a tyre review that it’s a bit silly to do so after having done only one 50km ride on them. That’s far too early to make a full and comprehensive assessment and be able to confidently recommend them to others.

    • @BikeLife154
      @BikeLife154  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @paddyotoole2058 ~ even though I did my best to make it sound like this was my first ride on them 😂 it was in fact my third ride. I had already been on a 44km and 80km ride before that day. So, sorry for not explaining that well. I was really happy with the tyres and my excitement got the better of me. Maybe even 175km is not enough time to form an opinion either, but I've since completed over 3000km on these tyres and I still stand by what I said. I would also now like to add durability into the mix. I've not had a single puncture that I'm aware of in that whole time. The back tyre looks like it will do probably 5000km or more before it needs changing. The sidewalls are so strong also. I ride these 45s at around 20psi and get great comfort from them on rough terrain. Or if I know I'm doing a lot of road I will go up to 30psi. Cheers Adrian.
