    I have had almost off models of the Land Cruiser, as you can see by my channel.
    But this most recent one may be the best Landcruiser EVER! The mighty Machito.
    I have had and still own some of the following:
    1972 Land Cruiser FJ40 Green
    1974 Land Cruiser FJ40 Red
    1989 Land Cruiser FJ62 Grey
    1994 Land Cruiser FJZ80 White
    1995 Land Cruiser FZJ80 - 2 of them Emerald Green and Moon Glow pearl
    1998 Land Cruiser 100 series Silver
    2001 Land Cruiser 100 series Thundercloud
    2002 Lexus LX470 Expresso
    2002 Land Cruiser 100 series Silver
    2004 Land Cruiser 100 series Black Garnet
    2005 Lexus LX470 black
    2006 Land cruiser 100 series - about 10 of them various colors favorite being the white
    2006 Lexus LX 470 - about 10 of them as well favorite being Crystal white and grey
    2008 Land Cruiser 200 series white
    2008 Lexus LX570 Mercury Metallic
    But now I just got delivery of a 1992 HZJ73 Diesel Land Cruiser and it's build quality is Legendary Toyota Land Cruiser, but possibly on another level.
    It is so well built, solid, and so much fun to drive!
    And I haven't even gone OFF ROAD with it yet, where it would be in it's element!
    This is the Go To Landcruiser to traverse any Continent.
    This HZJ73 is a version of the iconic Land Cruiser we never got in the United States, though it's popularity and reputation are well known worldwide. ... What is crazy is Toyota saw fit to put this diesel in an 11,000-pound bus and a 4,200-pound Land Cruiser.

    We have a ton of these 70's Land cruiser in Saudi Arabia. I could say it is the most reliable, dependable vehicle ever built in history, and it is the most vehicle used in wars.

      Lucky you got them... US didn't, and no diesels here either...
      Until now with importing (have to wait 25 years from manufactured date)

      This is different not the same we have in the middle east
      Thats J73 and its rare to be found yes we have left hand but with 4.5 straight 6 petrol engine
      The 70 came with separate rear seats on each side and without arm rest in the middle "three passengers front seats" until 2006 model year
      These comes with a longer wheel base and with arm rest in the middle and a traditional rear seat. Discontinued in 2006. We have a 2006 UAE imported
      In a burgundy and a white top. When ever I drive it everybody asking me "would you sell it?"

    • @asimalharbi8796
      @asimalharbi8796 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Drive it carefully 😅
      Its a military thing nothing but a box on four
      Safety on these is a seat belt only
      No air bags
      High possibility of roll over
      4.2 rear end makes it thirsty on highway like nothing ever made
      You'll feel the engine will explode after 70 mph so annoying

    This video just simply made my day. This was the LC that started my obsession with LC's. They were sold for a limited time in Canada back in the late 80's and early 90's. A friend of the family had one, it was a diesel, manual, left hand drive and what a beast it was. It was an almost deep gold colour. Anyway, thank you for putting out this video, you have a new sub so i will be busy catching up and checking out your other videos over the next little bit. Cheers.

    Here's a tip for anyone either driving "on the wrong side of the road" for the first time or anyone driving a car made for "the wrong side of the road". Focus on keeping the gear stick/selector in the middle of your lane. When turning, aim the gear stick at the middle of the lane you're turning in to.

    A 2 door 70series with an automatic transmission, now that’s rare.
    My family had the pickup version of this. A 75 series with the gas engine the 4.5 that you find in the 80 series. You could also fold the windshield in that if you where willing to take the top off witch was kinda of a hassle so we never did.

    I own a LLC HZJ73, left hand drive, manual transmition, with front and rear diff lock, still in stock heigth with 31x10.5 R15, just a minor rust in the botton of the driver door, but don't have the roll cage (i wish ith had it). I think it is very slow on the road, but it kill offroad. Bullet proof engine.

    • @CruisingTheLand
      @CruisingTheLand  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree its not as fast as my Porsche... but, I have a total different mentality when I drive it. I have had the 1F engine before, and going uphill, you would have to downshift and struggle, however the diesel with about the same horsepower, just pulls like a freight train and doesnt downshift (in automatic).
      I just chill when driving the HZJ73, and enjoy the drive.
      One of the most pleasurable vehicles I have ever driven.

    • @vhsfpm
      @vhsfpm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Cruising The Land I agree with you and understand what you say "I have a totally different mindset when I drive it". It is not fast, but it never struggles, empty or fully loaded, but when going uphill, when passing other vehicles, I feel a lack of strength to regain speed. My HZJ73 is my daily driver, it changed my way of driving, more relaxed, more concise, enjoying the trip, without rush. We are in tune.
      Offroad, in low range, it crawl everything. Still don't use the difflock.

    • @CruisingTheLand
      @CruisingTheLand  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mine is weekend driver, so never in a rush... besides, you have to go slow enough for passerbys to take their pics and videos. Driving fast would just be rude...
      And my dog likes to stick her head out the window and sub 50mph on the blvds.
      This is the vehicle to get you across continents reliably.

    LovelyCruiser. Not only are the tires a bit heavy for the rear door, the smaller door won't close with a 37" on the big door. I run 33"s and it only just clears the spare!
    1HZ is a brilliant engine. Please don't turbo it, the pistons aren't designed for a turbo.
    The timing belt change is really simple on the 1HZ, do that and change the oil and a million mile is the norm.

    • @CruisingTheLand

      Yes, no plans to turbo.. cruises 80mph at 2200 RPM at sea level... just takes time to get there. I will do a HZ1 compare to the 12HT, now that I have 1000+ miles under the belt for both.

      The HJ61 has a definitively stronger diesel engine with the 12HT. The Turbo makes a big difference. It just feels like a special Power Plant evertime I drive it. Right now, my daughter commandeered that truck!

      The 12H-T engine? I am a big lover of them. I have 2 old ones that need a rebuild. Got them from two owners who had removed the factory turbo. Despite that fact, I can still fill their power. So, I can only imagine what they'd be like which their turbo back (Which I'm planning to do!)
