  • I had recorded a little more - but unfortunately I scrapped it as it was a little messy (I might have low standards - but I do have standards) - What I missed out on was a breakdown of the differences between this and the
Submesh Deformer. Plus a quick run through on some of the other features - so this is really just how to get started!
Have fun playing with this feature!

Hey Matt! Thanks for the vid - in your first example, it might be easier to put those shapes into a Duplicator first (set to Point or Linear) or group them and put the group into a Custom Shape. Then add the Auto Animate to the Duplicator (or the Custom Shape). This lets you sequence them however you like without having to manually drag the individual Shape's timeline layers and you can avoid using Offset By In Frame (which doesn't visually represent what it does on the timeline). Then edit the sequence stagger using Animation Time Offset.

If you have to sync the animation to a voice over and you need four elements to pop up at set times - I think this way is easier than adding an array to duplicator time offset.

      @@pepkomotion Yes I didn’t consider that scenario 👍

Thanks for sharing this! So, basically, it's like an adjustment layer on AE but it contains Animation?

I think I should have created some more practical examples :)

Yesterday someone shared this design / chart for an organisation that they wanted animated. It had structures icons, text etc. They said it looked like a pain to animate.
I thought Auto-Animate would be quite useful here - you just place your assets where you want them and sequence them out.
Maybe this could be the second tutorial 😉
