Steven Universe Future Season 1 Episode 11 and 12 - " In Dreams "
Summary: Steven and Peridot watch a reboot of their favorite show, Camp Pining Hearts, and are dismayed by the new characters and plotlines. When they discover that Steven's television is capable of displaying his dreams, they try to use this as an opportunity to remake Camp Pining Hearts to their liking, but Steven's anxiety prevents his dreams from following the script.
" Bismuth Casual "
Summary: Steven, Connie, Pearl, and Bismuth head to the skating rink together. Steven is introduced to Connie's friends from cram school, but finds himself awkwardly detached from humans. Bismuth reveals that she came to the skating rink for Pearl who also has made friends with a couple of humans. Not wanting to withhold themselves, Bismuth pushes Steven to assert his friendship with Connie.

Camp Pining Hearts is apparently much darker than we expected.
I think its all but confirmed that camp pining hearts is a jab at riverdale

But it could be a jab at the whole "dark and edgy, more mature reboot" trend that Riverdale is a part of.

And people say that Bismuth x Pearl isn’t canon.
I feel that it fit the most with Peridot being that one being there for Steven. Unlike most of the other gems, she wasn’t a gem that Steven was constantly needing to console, or fix. She was considerable happier, or more content, than the other gems.
She didn’t move her problems onto Steven, unlike a lot of the other gems.
She was *there* for him. The cluster, the diamonds, Spinel. She helped *him*, just as he helped *her*.
And now, she’s returning the favor. Steven saved her from Homeworld, now she’s going to try and save him from himself.
You see, this is why Peridot is one of my favorite characters. She can be sassy and kind of narcissistic, but it’s a charming type of narcissistic and sassy, and she knows when she has done wrong. She isn’t full of herself, she knows her flaws and isn’t afraid to admit them.
And she cares, she cares so much and it was shown perfectly in In Dreams.
I’m so glad it was Peridot who found out first.
It wouldn’t have felt the same any other gem.

Just how much she was scared when Steven 'passed out' in the drill and here seeing his dream with her. Can you imagine what was she thinking while listening what was Steven telling to her dreamself.

The whole Steven stress thing makes a lot of since. Ever since he was little people have been depending on him whether they wanted to or not. Since he was a young kid people naturally shared their problems because it was easy, but due to the kind of person Steven was and his willingness to grow up to be more like Garnet, Amythest, and Pearl who has always been protective he's not only wanted to help others but has been successful because he has had to grow up so fast. He's quite literally never made a friend or grown a friendship without having to help someone or fix something. If you look at most of the episodes when he was with any other person it rarely shows them just chilling out, but solving a problem. It became such an issue that at times he would push himself onto others to help them out and sure it would work out in the end and we'd get a really great song, but it was never truly healthy for such a young kid to do that type of stuff. I personally think Steven would be a great teacher, maybe a teacher of gem stuff to regular humans.

Oh no, Steven is in that weird phase where teens make fanfics of their favorite shows with a Mary Sue self insert.
Everyone does at some point.
Though usually they go through that phase at 12-14 years old, so I guess that's just another human childhood thing Steven is trying to catch up on.

honestly when he complained about his bad graid and mom scolding him for this I felt so bad for Steven, this kind of problems are literally nothing for him comparing what he went through but this is a real deal for normal teens in normal life.

Real talk tho, you bring up such a good point about how toxic that mentality is with people staying in relationships just because they feel like they need to help someone. I kept seeing it as Steven feeling like he wasn't of any use to anyone anymore, and everyone around him displaying a bit of toxicity in how they've been using him to fulfill tasks at home....But like you said, sometimes people have this sort of like...masochistic, self-righteous mentality about jumping into peoples' problems to be the one to fix them, and in the end, THEY become the most toxic one in the relationship. Steven is heading down a dangerous path if that's where his Messiah complex is taking him. I am SO glad Peridot and Bismuth were quick to realize that something isn't right with Steven, and offered him helpful advice and comfort.

Ik it sounds stupid, but let's talk foreshadowing.
Jasper is in the woods. They fought and Steven basically MVP's her while pink.
In the trailer promo, he is seen in the woods, destroying a tree, presumably upset. You don't think he maybe would hurt Jasper badly? Even if he can heal, I can see him being very upset over possibly cracking Jasper.
(Obviously not shatter, because TV ratings.)

Well, I am aware of those people who need to fix others too, but while Steven automatically jumps towards the problem being with others and not himself seems moreso his biggest problem is that he projects rather than actually self searches. He avoids himself and depends on others being around otherwise he has to face himself. He has a need to fix others, yes, but I wouldn’t say that’s why he is with Peridot. He’s not the one who feels like he needs a reason to hang out with others. He feels as though others need a reason to hang out with him. His problem stems to his trauma and abandonment issues because of his mother.
I would say it's both? He feels like it's not enough just to be himself, his personality is not enough, he needs to actively or passively do something for someone to interact with this someone.
*I feel like even if the problem isn’t solved yet moments like the one he just had with Peridot are the first step on him getting better, him receiving reassurance from his friends that they want to hang out with him and won’t leave, but let’s be honest we know Rebecca we know this isn’t gonna go well lol*
In dreams was my favorite for the visuals and storytelling, but Bismuth Casual gave me good vibes and a whole lot of happiness as well!

I know im late on this but a lot of people dont notice in the dream episode, the last time steven wakes up to dream peridot, his room is rearranged to be what it looked like in the original instead of his redecoration for future. Really cool and is a little hint its a dream

Probably not spinel was abandoned for the fact she couldn't grow up and pink wanted to. And a gem back then without a job was useless and probably would be destroyed. Making her stay probably was the kindest thing she could have done under the circumstances. Spinel has only just begun to grow up and Steven been trying to master that for years.

I love episodes 11 and 12. 11 because it focuses more on what's going on with Peridot and her friendship with Steven and then 12 because I just appreciate how Pearl's favorite song is a commercial. I've never met anyone who loves and ad or commercial and just the fact that she loves a commercial for a car repair shop just makes my heart swell with how pure she can be. Not to mention we focus a bit more on Bismuth.

People are saying since the show is ending the ship doesn't count, but check the art book it's always been there.
There's one thing that bugs me about the end of episode 12.
Steven could pick any song he wanted. He could have picked Connie's favourite song, they heard it on their way there too. But he *still* chose to *help Bismuth rather than himself*. And the writing still presents this as endearing, when I feel like we should start to take a closer look at this kind of decisions at this point of the story, especially considering where it goes from there.
Bismuth was literally me in that episode. Pearl as favorite CG and being best wingman. That immediate reaction to his doubts at 12:35 just like "BISH NOW YOU LISTEN HERE."

There’s a later episode called “Homeworld Bound” coming on the 20th I think. I’m guessing that’s the Spinel episode.
Stuff like the TV projection of Steven's dreams is why I like this show - As with how Steven could sort of physically confront White with the truth about himself, with Peridot seeing the dreams *as* they unfolded, instead of hearing it secondhand, it makes things easier.

Steven is becoming one of the diamonds.He is actually facing what they were dealing with in the past.It's kinda sad knowing the fact steven has grown up and he feels like he has to do all this grown up decisions without having fun for himself every once and a while.Plus I think deep down teenage steven is his kid self feeling like he is changing or feeling like he's completely changing and he is blaming himself for his actions.All I can say is I hope steven gets better and I thank the developers for this amazing message they've given to us because alot of people can relate to this and feel a little better that they are not in the dark of anything that is troubling them.Bless steven's heart,he has down such an amazing job keeping everything in balance
