    Most dirt bikers just use the suspension and the power of the engine to raise the wheel up. There are videos of ktm's doing wheelies on 6th gear without the clutch TH-cam. Most wheelie tutorials do the same. I am sure the upgrade is worth it. He did seem to pop the wheel up while he was already riding a decent speed.

    Also, do you think the flywheel key is sturdy. I don't want to have to worry about sheering it off because of the lack of meat

      The flywheel doesn’t have any stress on it, no reason for a key to shear off and the crank is tapered And the keeper bolt is torqued to 54 ft lbs, it’s not moving

      @@AdvOutlaw I've only sheared 2 flywheel keys in my 30 years of riding experience(both 2 strokes though). I was just curious about the step and if it looked like it would be a weak spot. Thanks man 👍

      Iv heard of keys shearing off on the lower timing chain sprockets on xr250s
      I could see a 2 stroke timing key shearing of it was spinning 10k rpm and then comes to an immediate halt, especially a weighted flywheel like I had on my 200exc

      The purpose of the key is to make reassembling easier, not to hold the flywheel. The torque/taper is what holds the flywheel in place.A lot of aftermarket ignitions for mx bikes do not even use a key.

    Would you say it wheelies easier with the timing key upgrade? I have the Orion 250 which has the same engine as this, and I was wondering how much of an improvement the timing key did, as well as reliability.

      yea it definitely wheelies easier and has much more pep.

      Adv Outlaw That's perfect, might have to hit up Joe Henner as soon as my semester is done! What gears can you pull it up in with the upgrade? I'm struggling to pop it up in second gear, I got the five speed trans but same engine so hopefully the key helps out with that

    • @AdvOutlaw
      @AdvOutlaw  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can pull it up in second gear no problem and with a little more effort I can pull it up in third

      Adv Outlaw That's awesome man! Sounds like a lot more fun than stock, def gonna get the key this summer

    Did you upgrade the cdi? Or still stock? I'm afraid to go to a different cdi because I've heard if people burning them up.

    • @AdvOutlaw
      @AdvOutlaw  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was advised to stay with my stock CDI box because mine is a 8 pin not the 6 pin
      I talked about that in a previous video

    What kind of top speed you getting now? I used own a xr250l honda would you say since this is a air cooled bike too is the power about the same or more? I'm really thinking about getting one and my concerns are power and top speed because I would be doing alot of highway as well thanks

      Stock gearing iv had this thing over 70, it’s not comfortable with stock gearing but I put a 40T sprocket on and it cruising 60-65 no problem now

    You don't need to use the clutch to wheelie a CRF250X or WR450F...

    • @AdvOutlaw
      @AdvOutlaw  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea, you can wheelie a lot of bikes without using the clutch but 99% of people out there use the clutch to pop the bike into a wheelie
