My father and his sister were evacuated to live in the castle after their brother died in the bombing of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1941 they lived in the castle until the end of the war.
Did a Flight with my dji Phantom II-GoPro Hero3 , on 25/08/15 , went along the Coast Line and back along the Old Coast line when it was up to the Castle , I was standing a bit further South on the Dunes than you where , I had a few minutes to spare and geting a Sun set with the Castle when Someone from the Castle had walked over to tell me Off , telling Me you cannot Fligh over the Castle , Told me a lot of Storys about Drone crashing into the Castle ect , peeping into Windows . What have you Heard or Seen .
Sorry for the reply 8 years later. To cut a long story sort they have no control of the air space, peeping through windows etc is against the law, however flying your drone correctly in accordance with the guidelines is absolutely lawful.
If you see my video flying down the Dunes , you will see a guy in a red jacket , he came over to see me a tell me to stop flying . that was with the Phantom 2 .
You get people like him mate, pure jobsworths. Ive had a couple of similar tossers try to say you can't do this can't do that etc....they have no idea about this, it doesn't take much to tie them in knots if you know the regs around flying.
