@@solar901 I wish they made a remake of metal gear and metal gear 2 solid snake and flesh it out more. This conversation actually mentions more detail than was in those games and remakes could add those and even more. Then again without kojima they would probably ruin those remakes so it will probably never happend.
@@solar901 thank you for letting me know solar! I don’t know why it never occurred to me to check out the stories of the games before this. Maybe Spy has a play through of those!
Yeah and dialogue is a lot better in MGS1 than in any other Metal Gear game. If i remember correctly this is the only one that had Jeremy Blaustein localize it's script and he did an amazing job. He added a lot of things into the English script that made it a lot more believeable (e.g. he came up with the word codec, in the Japanese script it was just called "wireless connection"). Too bad Kojima presumably thought he tinkered with a script too much and that's probably why he didn't work on the later entries.
And what´s brilliant here is that at the end of MGS4, Snake reunites with the real Big Boss...and they hug. Saying without saying it outright that Snake´s deepest trauma had been healed, because he hadn´t killed his father after all.
This convo is so great. From the parallels of Naked Snake vs the boss and Solid vs gray fox along with Naomi lying about not knowing snakes eventual fate, fox die.
Played this for the first time last night. Fuck me that torture mini game is hard haha. I also didn’t save in the prison cell because I’m a moron (I was super tired), then I messed up the ketchup thing, so I had to do it like six times LMAO
That way, Campbell low-key awwwes at snake still calling him friend.
Always wanted a game based on this conversation. I go back and listen to this codec all the time. Such a powerful part of my childhood.
There are games based on this conversation. They are called Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

5:05 Naomi didn't want to tell him about FoxDie, the virus she herself injected Snake with.
Good catch, I originally assumed Naomi just didn't want to talk too deep about it as it's a complicated subject she's talking about.
David Hayter MGS1 voice acting is legendary

I always enjoyed the deep conversations.
