Nice review, I’ve used the Newair fridge for a year now and have zero complaints. I already have Bluetti and no name power banks and solar panels and this fridge has worked fantastic over the last year.

Thanks for the review and information. I have to admit that I went ahead and ordered one, due to a $249 sale price. Having owned it for a few weeks, I have no complaints. However, my use case is home backup, grocery getter and occasional travel. It is doubtful that we would ever get the battery. The EB3A is only $10 more than that battery, at current prices.

Most of the similar fridge/freezers have an onboard battery option , but imo , its not money well spent . The typical onboard battery option is usually $150+ and usually less than 200 watt/hr , and will likely only power the fridge for less than 10 hrs . A much better option for the amount of cash spent is to buy a 100ah lifeP04 (lithium iron phosphate) , these can usually be had for less than $200 and is the approximate equivalent of 1280 watt/hr battery / power station and will power the fridge for about 4 days . The one con is that it requires a separate charger , but if you dont already have a suitable charger lying around , one can usually be had for less than $50 . Just sayin

Outside of the handle breaking, and interface finicky/annoying (agreed), but lots of others are similar/irritating as well. How has cooled/froze and held up over all? How long/much has it been used in hot conditions, in particle, and worked well or not? Good review. Have you owed/used any other ones?

The Rickshaw 50 Cooler! Awesome review as usual. I’m gonna have to take what’s behind door #2 instead.

i bought one and with the battery just of a different brand and because i like all the whistles and i think you need one to power it from a solar panel and i want all my options. its mostly for home back up or "dorm fridge". i had a small cheap fridge but hated having to sit on the floor too fill it or fold myself in half to get anything. i will buy a coffee table put it on it and go about my day. will see how it actually works out after i get it though, holiday sales finally broke me on getting one lol.

Supposed to press the minus then the mode button. That switches to the other side

I'd like to thank you for your advice on cheap overland vehicles. I just picked up a WJ for $5400. No rust, 4.0,good times, and I'm about to slap a set of Toyo AT3s on. Took it out to the Talladega National Forest near me, never been Keeping before. Bone stock it handled everything.

I wish you reviewed pretty much ALL of the random camping/overland gear I stumble across.. hopefully soon you can make your way out to an expo and do unsolicited reviews of endless slew of gear they seem to be peddling at those events. Next expo.. that said… I freaking loved your expo video for its honesty too.

Thanks Chuck... I'd definitely love to make that happen. I'm glad you enjoyed the Overland Expo content from last year. We reached out to Overland Expo in March to see if we could get the same access this year as last year. We're still waiting to hear back...

Appreciate it, but there's no need. We appreciate not having to sacrifice a weekend of adventure for hanging with those engaging in vehicular cosplay at automotive comic con.

Hah!! It’s exactly that kind of spot on assessment that would make it worth watching… I could never quite put into words exactly why expos rubbed me the wrong way… but that’s it!

Seems like this is just a basic Chinese design picked up by a few different companies. Renogy, NewAir, BougeRV, etc.

Pretty much. Thought about grabbing some unistrut and extending the handles out a bit. Don't think I could get 33's on it without a lot of cutting though.
