This guy paaa! After taking a mortgage, how long does it take you to own a house outright in the United States? Sometimes some of us complain about things in Ghana as if it is better abroad. You come back home complaining about bad roads and, unstable power supply forgetting that having those things on the same standard as the states comes with huge costs. Trust me, if Ghana was as developed as America, it would be as boring because you'll have fewer "wow" experiences and you won't even want to return. Ghana is gradually developing so be expecting these things to be pricey. As to how they are affording them, you should also be asking how billionaires in America are making ridiculous amounts of money in America while others make minimum wages.

It’s also a western problem. I can’t afford a property in London despite earning is GBP. It’s not just a developing countries problem. Most developers in the UK are not British. High end properties in London are also brought by foreigners (Chinese and previously Russians before they were sanctioned).
It’s a huge problem regardless of the country.

the difference is that Ghana lacks the infrastructure so property prices are way over valued for what's on offer and it's not a good idea to be leasing a property in a country like Ghana as there are too many loopholes and the court system will take for ever to get any recompense

The only difference and flaw in your argument is that those countries you've mentioned have made housing to their citizens affordable and accessible with a decent quality of development. How is Ghana a country that seems to be retrogressing politically and economically creating a real estate bubble with prices soaring higher year after year? Where is the logic in this?

Ghanaians abroad are fed up of land guard crap in Ghana, so we are either buying outright or building. My brother stop complaining on social media about Ghana. You know very well that the Average Ghanaians are not buying those houses, stop it. If you do your your research you will also realized that there are a lot of foreigners in the country as we speak. African American have and still repatriating to Ghana since the year of return in 2019 even European and American whites and most celebrities are purchasing those houses in those prime areas in Ghana this is not a secret. Your Average Ghana has never been the same since the year of return so wake up. I live in states and know a number of Ghanaians who have purchased a piece of those paradise because they can and they should.

What he should analysis in the first place is to know how many people are working as recognised salary workers in Ghana as compare to the western countries and Ghana like most African countries with their natural wealth having farms and trading with high benefits which is not recognised or making show up of it to the envie eyes.that’s why the word poverty must be redefined western countries living on credit and African building their houses in cash without mortgage but they are still calling us poor Africans.

And how would you know those purchasing the buildings are Ghanaians in the diaspora? Being a Ghanaian in the diaspora doesn't automatically make you rich to afford such building. And we know salary levels are quite low in Ghana even for university graduates so there must be something shady at play in the Ghanaian real estate industry.
