Rosemary Clooney was one of the first old stars I ever really loved, plus more than you know was the first vintage old song I came to love. it's what got my listening to and enjoying the type of music I enjoy today!

There is a tremble in her voice, from understanding the lyrics and, well, living life. They called Rosemary and others from the Big Band era "Girl Singers," which was not a put down believe me. But here, and in so many other songs, she is a "Girl Crooner" like Crosby, Sinatra, Garland and so many others.

The reason that I became a fan of George Clooney is because he was her nephew. Her voice made you feel the lyrics. So soulful. I remember when I was a teenager in the 70's she advertised Coronet paper towels. My father screamed at the t.v., "The world has gone to hell when you have whispy-voiced Olivia Newton-John winning singing awards and Rosemary Clooney is stuck peddling paper towels!" I was a bit horrified to realize that I liked the same singer as my father.

She well deserved that great ovation. Tonight: first time I hear this. I'll be back for sure. She sang with so much emotion that it made me wonder if she was reminiscing.

A great version of a lovely old tune by wonderful performer, but speaking of this tune only, I don’t think she quite reaches the heights reached by Ella.

Her mature womanly voice is so charming singing this. The orchestra is splendid as well. Toward the end of her life she got up to almost 400 pounds.
